I'm Emerald at FT and also received the email. Not sure what to make of all this at the present time but I speechless! I for one would love to know what sites are in question that they are talking about. You would also think that this news would be posted over at the FT forum to discuss! Incredible!

Sandra, your port is so beautiful and creative, you truly deserve your continuing success at Fotolia!!
In my case: Overall rank: 49 (was at 45) 7 day rank: 136
My 7 day rank used to be around my overall rank or better. Then there was a pretty sudden change a couple of months ago, and now my 7 day rank is mostly over 100. This is sad, as earnings are obviously affected pretty dramatically.
Not sure of the reason for the sudden decline, but coming on top of falling downloads at iStock, coupled with dramatically rising local currency against the USD, the picture is a bit gloomy. Maybe it's because I've uploaded "only" 440 images to Fotolia in the last year? If so, I'd better get back to work...
Thanks Robyn! Sorry to hear that Ft is not doing well for you. I have to say that lately I've been a little nervous because I too have notice a slight downward change. It's not a lot but just enough to get me worried. My overall rank went as low as 52 but in the last 2 months something has happened. I also have noticed a lot more subs than ever before but I can't complain too much because all sites are still growing extremely well! So now it's: Overall rank 54 (went as low as 52) 7 days rank 61

I would also be interested into looking at what your site has to offer. Always interested in new sites with positive feedback!

I'm also emerald rank at Fotolia but I'm experiencing the opposite. My sales at Fotolia have doubled in the past year to the point that Fotolia has surpassed Shutterstock as my # 1 earner most months. They are running neck and neck with Dreamstime my #3 earner. Like everyone else I've have noticed that new images are hardly being downloaded with few views and that does worry me. Not quite sure what to make of it. I agree with Robyn, it's not fun to shoot and upload new stuff, only to see it languish with few views and even fewer downloads!

I've had several payouts since joining last May 2010. The majority of sales are subs. I think if you have a good sized portfolio it's worth uploading to DP.

Harsh words for small issues. Why so emotional? Canstock is a slow seller, true, but beyond that one of the best and fairest sites out there. I totally trust duncan (owner) and his crew and it is one of the few sites which ahven`t betrayed their Contributors and pay a fair royalty.
I couldn't agree more! Sales have steadily increased for the last year. One of the easiest sites to upload to with fast review times. I have to agree a portfolio of 400 images is really hard to judge success of sales at any stock site.

I was just invited last week to their program. I don't have a large portfolio at SS but have much less on Bigstock so for me I'm quite happy they are migrating the extra images over there. Sales have been good but I'm hoping it will give a big boost to my portfolio's exposure and sales.

They are taking a big gamble starting a new site when so many have failed in the past few years. Keeping costs to a minimum is sensible, they could hire a lot of reviewers and IT people to get the site going more quickly but that is going to cost a lot of money. It might be more sensible to build slowly and hope their loyal StockXpert contributors and buyers will have a bit of patience.
I am pleased with them so far, the site looks great, is easy to use, reminds me of StockXpert and they already have some buyers. Much better than most new sites that either have badly designed sites or very few buyers.
I have to agree with sharpshot. I'm really pleased with SF, easy uploads and love the look of the site! I'm getting good downloads regularly. They need to be given a chance and I think so far, Great Work SF!!

I've always liked Crestock and I reached a payout every month but was not very happy with the way things were going there this past year. I have 3 payments still pending for several months now and was really loosing faith in them. I even stop uploading because of long pending times but last night I decided to take a chance and upload about 90 of my most recent images and today they were all approved and all were accepted. I feel a change coming and I think it will be a positive one!
