General Stock Discussion / Skrill delaying payout?
« on: March 16, 2018, 11:21 »
Hello.  Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong forum, I am not a regular poster.

I am used to receiving my international bank transfer from Skrill within one to two days (I am in South Africa).  This month however, it has been a week and still no sign of the money showing up at my bankers.  On instruction of my bankers, I have requested Skrill for a copy of the SWIFT but so far Skrill is ignoring my request.

All they have emailed so far is basically "hurry up and wait" and frankly, I don't see why I should wait for my money when they have obviously been holding on to it!

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem with Skrill this month, or recently?

Regards,
Linn Currie (South Africa)

DepositPhotos / How long did YOU wait for a payment?
« on: April 07, 2015, 08:05 »
Seven business days today (not counting the public holiday) and still no sign of any payment.  Just received an email from them stating "you SHOULD get your payment tomorrow" which means it will be eight days!

When requesting a payment, the site states five days (not business days, just five days).  When asking about payment, the reply is "5 to 7 business days" ... quite a difference to wait!

Makes me wonder if Depositphoto has a cash-flow problem?

Any how, this is my last request for a payout.  I have already disabled all of my images and I am done with this agency ... for good!

I opted out a while ago and recently deleted my images.  Have been able to sign in any time I wanted to.  Till this morning and when I tried again, it let me in.  No discussion happening in the forum - latest posts on 14th.
Thanks for tip on making a screenshot of the earnings outstanding!

I'm a very very small player at IS (only 76 images) but had much more at StockXpert.  I deleted my port at StockXpert and opted out on IS.  So yes, though I am peanuts compared to all of you, count me in  :)

STILL waiting for mine and I requested it before Warren did.  I have now sent them a total of five letters asking for it.

PS:  why are we refusing to sell images at StockXpert for 25 cents but uploading like crazy to Shutterstock?
Because once you reach $500 in lifetime sales with SS, your subs jump to 33 cents; and your ODs increase too  ;)

It is important that everybody completes the W8 form (click on Tax Centre on Fotolia's website and follow the steps).  Once validated by Fotolia, only USA based sales will be taxed.  If they do not complete this form, then yes all sales will be taxed.

This has nothing at all to do with me, but just like Warren I can't help but thinking of photographers from non-treaty countries. Reading Daniela's message it seems they are forced to pay 28 % on ALL sales.
That's a blow. Can they do anything about it? Are there any other forms they need to fill? And why is it that only Fotolia does that?
I'm not clear.

I got it too Warren ... also thought I was banned, but it does seem like a glitch on their side.  Must be an overload of members asking for their letters in original form?  ;)

Like some others, I received my pittance today (MB) ... after waiting 20 days for payout, and which during that period Fotolia earned the interest.

Thanks guys.  I am positive that I will be banned from the Fotolia forum soon!  At least here I feel that I can speak my mind.

I have been waiting since 4th December (PayPal).  First I got the generic excuses of "remember it can take up to two weeks for payout" and then I received a new one "reminding me of the holidays".  Well, we have not yet the holidays!!!  And now another member has been told that unless he submits his tax form, the can't/won't process his payment.  And he has already submitted his tax form!

So in my opinion Fotolia is stalling all payments - whether deserved or not.  The withholding tax only comes into effect 1st january 2010 and should not play any role in December payouts.  So what does that mean?  Fotolia might have cash flow problems??  If they don't, then they should prove it by paying us the money we earned and that belongs to US, not them, not the USA IRS!!!
