Veer / Re: First sale at Veer
« on: July 30, 2009, 08:58 »
I don't know how to find out if I have a sale. I browsed through some of my images and saw a few views. Is there a stats page somewhere re: sales that I haven't found?
You sellers: Have you been notified of a sale?

I haven't been notified, just went through the images, only 50 at veer though.

That's funny, I only played one game and my score is visible stating I played 22 games with a 50.00% score?

I got CS4 to open the 20$ specimen by first flipping the printscreen in paint.
After flipping it back in CS4 and saving in PSD it reopens ok.

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Do you insure your equipment
« on: June 02, 2009, 12:44 »
I've had my stuff insured for more than a year now. Couldn't do without it, I'm much more relaxed about leaving stuff in a hotel room or such.
What do you consider expensive? I pay 1.5% per year and it coveres a lot.

Thank you thank you thank you Leaf for the tip about calling the IRS on the phone!!

I just made that call and it took me exactly 12 minutes to get my EIN number (5 minutes waiting for my turn, rest of the time answering questions).  All they needed was :  my name and address, NOTHING ELSE, not even the VAT number of my company.  I got the number at the end of the call, and I can use it immediately, though it will also be sent to me by mail.  The reason it took 7 minutes just to give my name and address was :  I had to spell every letter twice, and then the nice IRS lady spelled it letter by letter again for checking.

This morning I went to the city hall to get my passport copied and certified. Turned out the waiting time was about 1.5 hr. Probably all Dutch SS-photograhpers live in Spijkenisse and are simultaneously getting their copies certified. So I left and found this post, phoned the IRS and got my number in 11 minutes 4 seconds, all she wanted were the tradenames of my company and my name and address.
Leaf, although I misread your post on this (thought you meant you could phone the IRS for the number after you sent the form) I think you should win the check for most useful poster :) Split it with Anyka  ;D

Canon / 45000 euro worth of glass

A nearby camera store organised a "long lenses day" today.
You could bring your EOS and hook it up to all of the top tele's.

Front to back: 500, 600 and 800, taken with the 200 f2.
Other lenses were the 400 f4 DO, 400 f2.8 and the 300 2.8.

Had a great hour playing around with these awesome monsters.
They even gave me an EF lens clock when I left.

Thanks Canon  8)

I think that designers contending in the Steel Cage can download some number of files for free, for using them just in the contest. It must be that.

That's it, thanks  :)

I just noticed one of my pictures was downloaded for free.
As I never submitted it for the free section (it sells OK), I have no idea how this is possible.
Anyone experienced something similar?

I have an open ticket from march 12, previous tickets took up to four weeks to process.
It really is not a lot of effort though, just create a ticket and forget.
If accepted, the image will do not so good in the "newest" sort i guess.

Computer Hardware / Re: Intuos4 announced
« on: March 28, 2009, 05:04 »
I got the a4-wide yesterday.
My intuos 3 had some scratches on the surface so I had a good excuse  ;)
I really like the design and the white oled display. Being lefthanded, I was a bit worried about the mini usb connexion but there is a slide to switch between top and bottom. It does take a bit of getting used to though, my hand keeps going to the side where the buttons used to be.

What are you doing with your intous 3?

Sell it I guess, it's an a5-wide with two grip-pens.
