It is through payoneer, for US only I believe. I did a test run of $100 and it worked fine. I've been getting weekly direct deposits for the full amount requested ever since (couple years now). It is payoneer that puts the money in, not iStock. Have never had any issues, highly recommended.

As an exclusive at 25% :

Jan - 2.85$
Feb - 3.00$
March - 3.07$

And a comment for lisa: the numbers you posted are very close and it is hardly a steep decline. in order to determine if it is indeed a steep decline you must calculate your average and standard-deviation for a good few months back (lets say 12). if you have no idea what I am talking about I can do the calculations for you :)

Thanks, but I own a calculator ;)

I have calculated my average RPD from the various sites every month for almost 6 years.  I also have a large portfolio and a high sales volume so there is a lot less deviation than you would imagine.

You are free to take my word for it or not.

Didn't mean no dissrespect.  Some people don't even know how to calculate an average. I take your word for it then.

adamkaz: Those numbers are AMAZING! at what percentage are you in ?
I am happy with the $/DL, however not so much with declining DLs. Part of it is likely that I was overly aggressive with E+ decisions (I've since reverted a number of E+ files).

Interesting data being shared.

Exclusive, with about 20+ V/A files and approx. 100 E+ files:
March so far: $8.12 RPD
February: $7.83 RPD
January: $7.28 RPD

Once you get caught up with the uploading, I think you will find that the $$ made from the other sites makes up for your exclusive droppage (is that a word?  :) )

That is the million-dollar question. If I didn't have to account for Vetta, Agency, and E+, it might be easier to quantify. But when one Vetta sale nets more than 50-100 shutterstock sales, it's hard to justify. Even one small E+ sale can account for 20+ SS sales. I go back and forth between desiring the "security" of having my eggs spread into multiple baskets, but ultimately, the high returns of being exclusive on iStock have outweighed the benefits of diversifying. I understand it is different for everyone though. Just expressing my thought process on the matter.

Yeah, I don't see the big deal. I hear all of the complaints... it just seems like a stretch. And I'm not getting paid to disagree... FWIW.

One of the lucky few... wish it didn't come to this though.

I am pleasantly surprised with how well January is turning out for my port (1,215 images as of now). Already over 10% better in $$$ than last January with a few days left. E+ price increase has been nice. I was fortunate enough to keep my % otherwise it would probably look exactly like last January.

I told myself that if I reached a certain level of monthly income - I would quit my day job and do istock full-time. I've since reached that level and exceeded it- but I keep my day job. I now work 4 days a week and take Fridays off... to be used for iStock or my personal business.

As tempting as it is to go full-time iStock, it's a great feeling to have the stability of my job (which I can go back to full-time with 30 days notice) and the benefits, in addition to iStock income. I also am giving wedding photography a serious go... this year has been great. With a new mortgage and still some student loans to pay for, it feels good to have 3 sources of income.

These days I tell myself again, if I add 50% to my current iStock income, I'll call it quits, but we'll see if I actually follow through when that happens. :)

General Stock Discussion / Re: Who's sending 1099's this year?
« on: February 02, 2010, 14:57 »
Lisa- do you organize it by earnings or payouts?

In the past I have done it by payout - when did I receive the money? So some of the royalties I earned in December will not be on my 09 taxes, because I will receive the money in 2010. Similarly, I will pay 2009 taxes on some of my December 2008 earnings, because I got the payout in January of 2009

Maybe I'm wrong...

Had a small for $3.00, an X-small for $1.20, Medium for $5.80 among a few others... these smaller sizes are where exclusives will see the biggest increase in earnings due to their frequency and their higher percentage increase.

Love a good survey. :) Excited to see the results.
