I ended up with 2 yesterday but as to the amount being correct I think it's off by .35.  But until I can get in there without any distractions from the kids and check things properly, I'm going to presume that's correct until I can do the math on my own.  Stats say I've gotten 13 dl's so far this month to which that is correct.

Just checked it and the amount for the month appears to be correct so I think it's back to business as usual for me.  Hopefully for the higher performing ports it'll be back to normal soon.

777
I take that back.  I got what appears to be a .35 sale but it's not showing up either.  I'm sure it'll either correct itself or get corrected.

778
I got my one for today ;) and it showed up in my stats just fine.  I haven't had a day over 5 in a few months so yeah I'm not seeing what ya'll are seeing those of you that get a lot of dl's from them on a daily basis.

Great now I've got another issue.  The only way I can can save my illustrations to meet their 24mb uncompressed size requirements is exporting as a tiff at a large dpi then open it in Photoshop and save as a jpg.  My problem is I don't like the way the tiff files make my edges look (I'm sure my first 4 will fail QC because of that).  Is there a specific workflow that illustrators use to upload there?

I'm way beyond confused.

You're more likely to get refunds from credit card fraud.
Anyway, what's better. to earn $500 and find $50 disappearing in a refund, or not to suffer a refund because you didn't earn anything?
There is loads of RF stuff there that is also on the micros. Don't worry about it. Their inspection is dead easy, maybe on a par with Canstock, and they don't even know how you are going to license anything when they inspect it, that comes in the next step when you do the keywording etc.
It usually takes ages to get sales and a payout, though. But once the sales start coming, maybe after a year, they trickle through slowly but fairly steadily.

True and thanks.  That'll give me something to work on tomorrow.  And maybe once I get comfortable there I'll start doing some RM things to test the waters on that.

Thanks again.

Anita

But the thought is kind of freaking me out.  I can't just try to pass their inspection with all my RF stuff can I?  I've been reading around the board about them and some say they do RF plus RM content or they make images for them to just sell as RM and nowhere else.  There is the confusion I'm facing.  All I have right now are RF images but don't want to incur refunds if they find my images somewhere else cheaper.

I'm just completely confused about it.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Still waiting to be a contributor !?  Long wait so far !!  :(

+1 since last June.  Any ideas on when the doors will open to let a few more of us in or will that happen after the marketing drive you mentioned?  Thanks.

From what I understand from something I read last year is that their cut is half of the total buy out price.  Unless that's changed I'm not for sure.  I do remember what I read being that someone was selling the rights to one of their images for like $10,000 and they got $5,000 for it.  Course if I'm wrong on that please someone correct me.

Now I really noticed it with a new file upload.  When I clicked on the extended license button it said 8 and not 10.  Guess it's not just my imagination anymore.

Will see how things fair with them in the next few months.  I'm due for the unsold files section come this June (2 years with no files sold) so I'm not making any decisions on anything.

I'm still having a hard time understanding the statistical data of how much it's going down.  Can someone way smarter than me put something up that's in like dollars and cents?  I've never been good with statistics esp. with percentages.  What makes it harder is that they have so many different subscription models I can't figure out where I'm losing at.

your earnings have dropped by around 20% depending on what level you are at.  So if you made $100/month you will now make $80  It is a bit more complicated than that but for the most part you will be losing 20 cents on the dollar.

Ahhhh that makes much more sense to me now.  Thank you :)

Maybe I did see it today.  Had a sub sale for .25 but I've had that before this month.  Ahhhh this is really friggen confusing.  I too am close to payout so I'll wait as I need that money for bills.

I haven't noticed a change yet so does anyone know when this is supposed to take effect?  I haven't seen a change in royalties with the downloads I've gotten since the announcement and I can't seem to find that information anywhere as it wasn't in the newsletter either.

Here's the post from a thread on DT where I asked the same thing a few months ago.  Your image is in fact still a level 1 purchase.  On the 6th download of that image will you get to the level 2 payment.

It's confusing but that's how it was explained to me.

Here's that thread if you're interested.

Hey Mike.

Yeah it's been a little slow I think just this week but other than that it's pretty spot on.  Been with them since August Duncan and the crew are great to work with.  Any site issues they're on it and usually cleared up in a day or less.

I'm quite happy there.

Oh and +3 on the above post :)

Are all files like say vectors taking a cut too?  I get mainly subs and vector sales.  I should probably go back and check the links in this thread.  That would f'n suck.

Happy Screw Year... tossers.

Here's a nice little bit of history:

http://microstock.sys-con.com/node/1225951

I don't think that even mentions the 3% they knocked off royalties in 2009. Also, doesn't mention the vector price cut in 2009 when they switched to a 4-6-8 pricing model instead of all 8 credits.

Okay that's just extremely confusing.  Is there a way to tell if we have a 4, 6 or 8 vector?  I'm gonna have to go look. *edit* I see it a lot of 4s and one 6 so far in my looking.

Which leads me to another question...is this effective now or at a later date?

Not sure how to delete the account but I can tell you the minimum payout is $50.  Not sure if that changes with what level you're at.

So if I understand that * email correctly that all the peeps who are considered little fish (including myself) are getting screwed over while the ones that are on the top tier remain unaffected?  Completely unfair to do that.  At this rate those of us who are little fish won't ever get the chance to become big fish with all the cuts.  I'm still stuck at the white level which is going to make it impossible to attain other levels then?  It sure as hell isn't our fault people are reaching other levels too fast so why punish those of us sell but not a lot?  Course I'm close to payout there and they do this.  Now it's going to take me forever to reach the last $8.00 at this rate.

I go through that everytime I have to help my boyfriend when he wants to do something on the computer.  Cept for me I actually scream out what he's supposed to be doing instead of the think cloud.  I also tell him to move out of the way so I can get in there and get it done hee hee.

Funny video :)

Darn and I was going to suggest OS Commerce too.  There is a way for it to download digital content and I tried to figure it out a few years ago and it was clunky.  There has to be a way to deliver digital content to the buyer after purchase is okay and cleared without having to do it manually after the fact.

Have a look at http://www.zencart.com just looking around the forum seems to have a way to set up digital downloads with different attributes.  Last time I used it (about a million years ago) was easy to set up and integrate into your own site.  And it's free.  Thing is looking at a forum post about it it seems that the download is in the buyers my account page and didn't send a link in an email.  The email templates can be customized to suit your needs but that's beyond my remembering right now.

796
I'd like to see them clean house too with images that haven't sold in 3 or more years that should take a chunk out.  I'd also like to see them prune the message board but that's a whole other thing unto itself.  Course none of this will probably happen unless a lot of us inquire about it but then that's not even going to guarantee that they'll listen either.

797
Yep.  Abstract anything unless it's totally spectacular and different from everyone else's is going to get rejected for too many on site.  I get that a lot and I don't do a lot of abstracts.  Some of people who submit there that basically all they do are abstracts are having a helluva hard time getting any of them accepted.  Which I don't understand actually since most of the top 50 are abstracts and abstracts sell.

Something's gotta give or change but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon.  I'm even having a hard time getting some of my stuff accepted and I get the too many on site rejections eventhough when I search on the site there's maybe 3 - 10 pages not hundreds.

I couldn't tell you but I had 3 sales in March last year on the same day that totaled $6.75 and to this day still can't figure out how that works out to be that amount.  I don't send them anything but eps8 files and even then I can't get to 100 images in my port on there as the rejections are extremely high for me.

Yeah I'm with the majority it's running slow starting this month.  December was awesome though.  I'm less than $4.00 from reaching my first payout with them so just one nice $5.00 vector sale could make that happen.  I've noticed with me either I get 4 or 5 in a day and then quiet for 7-9 days or it's just quiet.  I'm happy with them though.  Been with them about 5 months.  I just need to find my creative drive again.

How long ago did you start with them?  I started in August and didn't see my first sale until September.

Give it some time.
