Adobe Stock / Re: FOTOLIA - NOW PAYING LESS THAN 16% !!!!!!
« on: November 08, 2010, 14:19 »
In my account, the "unsold files" section is gone. Anyone experiencing the same or is it just me?

Yep my tab is gone as well.  Wonder what they're doing.

« on: November 05, 2010, 01:21 »
What I find weird is my sales are up and so are my rejections.  Had a batch of 10 vectors rejected for too many on site which is absurd it's their own fault that there's "too many on site" with over 13 bagillion images.

Definite pruning is in order either done by ourselves or by SS with image that haven't had a sale in a certain amount of time.  I'm coming up on the time where that's going to happen to me at FT (next year).

I'll wait a month or so then reupload those 10 with their rasters (which were all rejected on a separate day and all for LCV).  Some consistency would be nice as well.  Course I'm also not holding my breath they expect us to change without letting us know what they need and they're certainly not going to change for the contributors.

Count me in as one of the frustrated ones.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Who has had sales at Graphic Leftovers?

@danoph when did that upload queue link appear?  Didn't notice it until just now.  Love that.

And I just go another sale today so yay go me LOL.  Far away from payout but my port is just sitting there plugging away.  Definitely love the people and the easy upload, although upload had some issues for me today but that seems to have resolved itself :)

I actually found one of mine in use today.  http://www.futuretimeline.net/subject/biology-medicine.htm It's the diagram of the human ear.  Sold at DT and it only sold once there.

Now if I could just figure out where my vector brain and heart are at LOL (and no definitely not in my vector body ;)

Nope not just you I get the page can't be displayed error.  Trying again just have a busy blank screen so either it's going to give me that error again or eventually it'll load.  I'm thinking the first one.

They really need to get this issue under control.  It's happening far too often now.

*edit*

It just came back up for me.  Wonder how long that'll last.

I too contacted Paul Prescott via SS message board as one of his photos is on that same page towards the bottom.  The one of the couple smoking the no smoking sign.

I swear people must think royalty free means take it and call it your own.

I closed my account there last year and would be interested since the fact that they did change hands and see how it goes for all of you that are still there and if things actually are better than in the past.

I'll probably make a decision to go back or not probably after the first of the year.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Are winter themes selliing yet?
« on: October 11, 2010, 14:17 »
It's hard to tell.  Once I had an Easter image sell in July.  I've been selling Christmas and Winter type vectors since I think either June or July.  I also had a 4th July image sell in August so best bet is that it's unpredictible but they do sell more starting in late August and so far as my experience through October.  Wouldn't hurt to get a few more in your port.

If it's a modern building then they want a property release.  Any kind of vehicle shot will be rejected.  Though I'm not sure if you could submit it as editorial though.  I would contact support about that one.

New Sites - General / Re: The 3D Studio - anyway selling there?
« on: October 08, 2010, 11:17 »
I quit uploading.  Since right now they still don't accept vectors they don't have my entire port.  It mainly consists of backgrounds and some photos that I've done.  Over 17,000 views with 133 images but not one sale...yet.  I'll upload again once I see some life.

Yes, four months is a long time to wait in a queue but what's more important to remember is you've got a new library where the owners have a credible history in this business, are willing to talk to you on this forum and, best of all, offer you 50% of the takings. Come January, it's one I'll definitely be recommending to colleagues in the design industry.

Yeah all well and good but for those of us who have applied way back in June like myself who are still waiting, and I can only speak for myself, is that it makes me feel like I'm not good enough or I don't have a strong enough portfolio.  Yeah they let in the "higher ranks" first but I also agree that the review queue should have been done in order of completion.  As it doesn't really feel fair to the rest of us who took the time out to fill out the application and submit our best 5 and whatever else was on that application.

I'll continue to wait but I really don't like the feeling that I'm getting because of the waiting.  Definitely makes me feel like my images are not worth even a first look.

You can also do it at the submit area after your jpg's are in your unfinished section.

When you do all the keywords, titles and descriptions and whatever else you need to do at that screen, press submit and there will be a text link to submit additional formats.  You'll have to click it quick as it's on some goofy 3 second timer and then browse to your eps file and submit it.  It will also be attached to the jpg you just uploaded.

I hate their vector review process but unless they change it we're stuck with it  :-\

Yep I see it or actually don't see it as well.  Looks terrible definitely those that get lots of downloads there every day are losing a lot.  Me...not so much ;)

Just added a bunch of your images to the halloween photo collection. This is a lightbox where we feature all images halloween. Thanks.

Had all 7 I uploaded approved today but none are in the clip folder.  I must suck that bad :P  I did write a note but don't think the reviewer saw it.

I'll write a letter to Santa.  Maybe by Christmas I'll receive a reply?   ;D

I think I'll join you  :P

You rock. Thanks Anita. Just leave a note for the reviewers so they know what the images should be included in. I have notified them to be on the lookout for notes.

Woops!  I didn't do that ;)  Ah but they're still in pending evaluation so I'm moving them back to edit and then gonna add a note to the reviewers.  Thanks for the heads up on that :)

I have some fall, and halloween vectors.  I'll upload those here in a bit.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Dreamstime are driving me crazy!!!
« on: September 23, 2010, 15:18 »
Anita, if you have images to upload to FT and DT, I suggest you do it now.  The reason your sales probably went up is because Sept - mid December is a very busy time of year.   By not uploading right now you are missing out on a lot of potential sales.

I probably should but from the last times I've uploaded the new ones just aren't selling.  You're probably right though.  Might just spend the time this afternoon doing that.  Though I'm going to have to figure out where I left off at.  I only stopped about 2 weeks ago.

I've decided to stop uploading there and to FT until after the first of the year.  After I quit uploading my sales went up on both sites.  Which is weird to me.  I'm a little under $25 away from my first payout at DT (took payout from FT last week) which is why I quit uploading to begin with.  Needed to reasess if the sites are worth it in relation to how many files get downloaded and how long it'll take me to reach my first payout with them both.  Since I recently got EL's on both sites I'll probably start re-uploading there in January.

I would also contact the site admin at craftster with a link to the thread and a link to your images.  And let them know what the TOS from SS is or link them to the SS TOS page.

Good luck.

Illustration - General / Re: Illustrators? Where are you?
« on: September 14, 2010, 18:36 »
I mainly do vectors (I've done some photography).  Haven't tried doing digital painting or 3d renders eventhough I have the programs to do them both.

Nice interview Leaf, and some interesting info. I decided to review some of my images at DT to see if making any changes made any difference to search placement and sales, however, when I went to edit, next to the keywords field there was this following message:

This image has been rightfully reported as having bad keywords and an editor approved the needed corrections. At this time you can add more keywords only through the key-mentoring system.

Everything is greyed out and I can't change anything, including titles, description and keywords. I went through two pages of images and they were all the same. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Come to think of it, did DT have some sort of system where contributors received reward for reporting keyword spam?

If you've disabled a certain percentage of your portfolio that will do that to your images as well.  Which I'm thinking that's probably what happened.  Just email support telling them you're not trying to quit just disabled some things.  From what I was told when I went through this earlier this year is that they do that to keep you from editing your keywords to get you and your port banned if you're trying to ditch dt before the 6 month wait period after your last upload.  Which sucks but can't change it.

849
It's happening again today.  This is getting thoroughly annoying right now I'm stuck on login and it won't move.  Kept asking me to login everytime I click on stats and it even logged me out of the message board as well so I can't post any bugs in their bugs forum.

UGH!

any idea how long the approval process takes?

I've been waiting since June 3rd if that gives you any indication.  If I ever get in/rejected or whatever else you can possibly do this'll be the last stock site I submit to.  I have 10 I already submit to and this one (possibly) would be 11.

I just want the wait to be over with.

Wow, the wait is worth it? You have too much faith because you forget of Stockxpert already ?

I never did say worth the wait in my post please read it again and I was never a member of Stockxpert so pfffft!
