I had 6 sales for all of the month of january if that's of any comfort to ya.  I only have 43 images and won't be able to upload until the 12th.  Which will be nearly 8 months without being able to do anything.

Chin up it's February :)  Here's to great sales for everyone :)

Thanks leaf.  I also didn't know about the related threads underneath my post I thought they were recent posts from the same forum *slaps self*

That's exactly what I was fishing for oin here as well ;)  If things had changed over there with the implementation of their credit system and if that has affected anything in the way oif sales good or bad.  Or if things have remained the same from the peeps that posted bout it last year.

Thanks :)

I just got accepted there today (which was a feat in itself as I'm still on a phone LOL) was wondering how sales were for you if they're steady or stagnet.

Interested in all your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks,

Anita

and like they say when the strong winds blow..
"the gods are with us".

Well, let the gods punish whoever wrongs you,
and like you put it so well,  move on .

enjoy your weekend.

Nice!  Never thought about the wind like that.  With as much as we get out here they're always with us LOL.

Thanks perseus :) And you enjoy your weekend as well.

I was freaking out too.  Was wondering whose cereal I took a whizz in for that to happen.  They could've handled that better than the way they do.  It's not like I deleted half of my port there and I sure as *bleep* wasn't gonna spam my own keywords to get booted off.  They could've sent me an email to notify me about such things but I had to find out by accident.

I'm just happy it's been fixed and I can move on to other things that baffle me...like the tremendous amount of wind we're having today ;)

Thanks to you all,

Anita

How do we find if an image was marked for bad keywords?

Under the contributor tab click on my online files you do have to go image by image like stated.  Click on edit and scroll down to the keywords section if it's not greyed out and have that long text to the right of that box saying your keywords have been rightfully marked as being bad or something like that your fine.

I'm waiting to hear back from them again on the wait period plus added what I found out about disabling/deleting a few of my images.  If I remember correctly I told them I'm not leaving nor am I going exclusive anywhere.  So who knows what's going on.  I sent that email earlier this morning and haven't heard back from them.  I looked at my files a few minutes ago and it's still that way.

I wish it would have information about what actually is going on instead of making it look like I had bad keywords.  It's ridiculous.

Glad your friend got he stuff worked out.  Just wish I knew how long it's going to stay like that.

*edit*

As of this morning it's been fixed.  I guess I won't disable a bunch of my files again ;)

Yeah I just re-edited my op.  I had 30 on the site initially then decided to delete 7 of them there.  I deleted the same ones everywhere they were.  Not sure what percentage that would be.  Those files have also been on the site for over 6 months so there in lies my confusion.

Just found out all my 23 images were marked for bad keywords.  what!?!  I sent a letter to support before I saw that all of them stated they were 'rightfully' reported fo having bad keywords.  I just don't get that at all.

Anyone else seeing this kind of phenomena or is someone gunning for me..heh.  Just don't understand why all my files on that site are like that.

Ugh!

*edit* apparently since I deleted 7 of my images there my account gets flagged.  I have no desire to be exclusive anywhere nor do I have any intentions of putting unfitting keywords on any of my images.  Did I miss this in the faq somewhere?

Well it wasn't the power supply it's the freaking motherboard.  *sigh* I'm now stuck waiting until February to get a new system.

I'm gonna go pout in a corner now.

I don't understand why people use cell phone cameras, mine is so much cheaper:

That was funny.  I actually had someone tell me to do that.  I don't know if they were serious or making a funny.  I'll just wait until we get a new computer for that and use our Nikon instead ;)

Goals 2010

1:  Get power supply for computer (check it's on it's way)
2:  Put that Nikon D40 to work for me and get my first photo accepted
3:  Step up my vector game
4:  Make it to payout anywhere
5:  Diversify my portfolio more
6:  Get back online
7:  Upload 10-20 images per week

Hope to get that achieved this year that would be nice :)

914
I'm definitely going to remain positive on it.  I can't remember the rejection reasons I was given at IS as it was back in may/june when I first started out.  I'm still a noob when it comes to all of this and I'm learning a lot just reading this board.

Before my computer had a coronay back in july, I already decided I wasn't going to make anymore web buttons and the like.  I had high hopes for them too but they just don't sell.  I definitely need to up my game with illustrator and make sommething unique, different and sellable.  Course I have to figure out what that is first ;)

I'll have to look into lookstats once we get back online next month.  I'll concentrate on the big 6 for now and check out those suggested in the thread.

@donding *hugs* I hope you make it through your rough time.

You all have been great.  Thank you :)

Anita

915
Maybe I'll start to learn since I have all kinds of time now that I found out today my camera crapped out!!

That blows!  Is is completely toast or is it fixable?  We're finally getting our computer fixed after 7 months ordered the part last night.  I hope your situation isn't like that at all.

916
I don't do vectors and have no idea how to do them but it appears that those types do better. I think I need to learn so someday I might retire!!! ::)

That's funny I was thinking the same about photography ;)

917

I would suggest you go to their website and do a search for your type of images before you even consider it. Most of the photos I saw in general had no or very little downloads on them. I had never heard of them untill this post.

Thanks I shall try that :)

918
Thanks.  I too don't understand 123rf is in there either as that's the lowest on my earnings scale.  Since SS owns big stock are they going to stay separate entities?  Once my vectors improve I might try to get accepted on IS again.

I have a lot to think about.  Thanks :)

Anita

919
Right now I'm on 5 different sites and looking to add more in the future.  I'm really thinking about ditching 123rf haven't gotten much out of it.  The only one of those that haven't had any downloads is Cutcaster but I'm optimistic.

Are there any other ones besides the big 6 that are worth the effort?  I've already tried to get on iStock (guess I'm not up to their standards) and ditched Crestock about a month after I started there.

I look forward to the responses.

Are they worth uploading to and is it hard to become an approved contributor?  And from reading the posts it sounds like you're getting paid per upload if I read that wrong, forgive.  I looked over there and didn't see any info on it.  I'm looking to expand my reach.  I'm down to 5 stock sites and this one sounds interesting.

Thanks,

Anita

Off Topic / Power Supply has been ordered...Yes!
« on: January 09, 2010, 02:59 »
The boyfriend ordered it tonight.  Hopefully next week we won't be computerless anymore.  Won't be back online until February which is okay.  That'll give me plenty of time to create more images to upload.  Gotta make up for the 7 months I've been out.

So yay!  ;D

« on: January 09, 2010, 02:54 »
The same thing happened on the today show last year as well.  They made it look so easy with a point and shoot camera.  If it was that easy I'd of had tons of photos in my portfolio already.  I have a point and shoot and before I even uploaded anything I knew that wasn't going to be good enough.  Which is why we have a Nikon now :)

Cutcaster / Re: anyone out there selling?
« on: January 08, 2010, 16:06 »
I can't remember if I posted in this thread or not.  I think it might have to with not having some exclusive to Cutcaster images.  I told John a week or so ago that I'd do that once I get back online.  Since almost all of my vectors are on the 5 sites I'm on the chance of sales there with the same set of files isn't gonna work since buyers can get them elsewhere cheaper.  Might be worth the time to give them a few exclusive images to test it out.

123RF / Re: Anyone else having increased sales at 123rf ?
« on: January 08, 2010, 15:59 »
Nope, same as usual. Only new thing I am observing are 100% rejections recently. Maybe they are running out of space?

They're getting strickter on the files they're accepting in order to bring more "quality" images to the site.  I agree with the above about being a little too late to jump on that bandwagon.

123RF / Re: Anyone else having increased sales at 123rf ?
« on: January 08, 2010, 01:59 »
I'm about ready to ditch them and let them keep the $1.80 I made there since either late April early May 2009.  I just do vectors right now and it seems to me that vectors do well there (at least mine don't).  They're also going to get stringent on acceptance which makes me afraid to redo my keywords.  It throws the files back to pending and I don't want my already approved images rejected.

I'm just wondering if I should stick it out to my first payout or take my loses and run now.

Any advice will be most helpful.

Anita
