I've had two sales (of .30 each) out of a portfolio of around 260. Fearing the collapse of the promotional program, I grabbed my first $50.00 and it was paid pretty quickly.

Just got the same email...what does this mean exactly? Are they only paying out for images accepted until April 31st or are they no longer paying? I just uplaoded a couple more and I guess I'll have my answer soon enough!

Nice tutorial! I always perk up when I see "water" in the subject line. Because 75% of what I shoot is underwater (I do a lot of scuba-related work) I've dealt with bubbles and backscatter (caused by underwater strobes reflecting off particulate in the water.) I use kind of a similar method- I duplicate the layer, use the Noise>median filter until the backscatter is gone. Then in the history box I go back to LAYER VIA COPY, then I use the history brush, choose MEDIAN in the history window and set the history brush to DARKEN. Once this is done, I can paint over the backscatter areas and they're gone.

I also noticed that my picNiche plugin for Firefox doesn't seem to recognizing 123RF stats. Anyone else having this problem? This just started this morning.

I've been talking with another microstock contributor about the review process...on the whole, we feel the process is very fair. But the more we talked about it, we just got curious...how exactly does the process work? Does a single reviewer get assigned a group of images? Do they simply sit down in front of a big screen and make decisions based on a check list? Is there any software used to determine noise amount, etc? Does any of the reviewing get farmed out? Reviewing so many images just seems like such a massive process and at times seems a bit subjective (not very often in my case anyway...but we've probably all had an image rejected then after they've been re submitted, had it accepted). Again, I think the sites I contribute to do a great and fair job but I'd love to know how the process works. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

FD-
PADI (instructor) NAUI, AAUS (American Academy of Underwater Sciences), I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only guy who has spent half of his life in murky water!

Donna- We seem to be doing everything at the same time! I too got credit for my images this morning (after sending them an email) but like you, my referral link doesn't seem to work either.

Just got his email (30 minutes after I sent my question)
"Hello!
Nothing else should be done. Money will be added to your account today evening or tomorrow morning.
Have a good day!
Kelly"

I sent them an email about uploading before clicking the promotion code (I mentioned this earlier, but I uploaded my first 100- which were accepted-but I apparently didn't click the PPP in time.) Here's a portion of the email I received:
"If you agree with terms and rules of Promo Program we may add money for the images already accepted: to do so we must have your consent. "
I returned the email saying I agreed. We'll see what happens. I should mention that while all of this was going on, I submitted more (AFTER I clicked the PPP button) and the balance showed up immediately for the subsequent images.

Thanks!
It is misleading. The idea that it's set up like that is a little unsettling. If they want/need new images as badly as they seem to, you'd think they would let this slide and make a correction. I'm going to wait to upload anything else and may very well deactivate my uploaded images if they don't budge on this.

Yup...thats the catch 22. You can't activate the promo untill after your initial images are approved...BEFORE you upload any more. I did the same thing and am currently trying to get it resolved. I already had more thatn 90 approved which I won't get money for. I've got 30+ sitting in the pending bin and over 250 in the uploaded unfinished bin. This were uploaded before the activation and even thought they are not finished yet, I'm going to wait till I see what they say. Hopefully they will coroporate. [/quote]
It sure seems like they should be cool about this (for your sake as well as mine!) I sent them a message as well and will post the answer. Would you mind doing the same? Sounds like you have a bit of a jump on it!
Thanks!

For those of you who have done this, did you show a balance immediately after the images' acceptance? I uploaded my first 90 a couple of days back- they were all approved but I'm showing no balance. I sent them a message to ask about this but I thought I'd ask you all first before I get to uploading more. When I go to the PPP section, the promo window reads "already activated".
Thanks!

I'm a bit of a newbie myself, but from my limited experience, I would have to go with Shutterstock...I'm not making a killing, but I get some downloads almost every day.
