Computer Hardware / Which PC or MAC would you buy "now"?
« on: January 11, 2014, 20:36 »
I am mainly thinking in terms of photo editing, I am not looking at laptops (tired of mine!) or the usual tower desktop pc/mac with monitor, at the moment I believe the all in one pc/mac would suit me better, I understand the usual pc/mac tower is way more powerful with higher expandable cpu or ram or hd etc and cheaper but I am looking for something more "minimalist/practical"

any thoughts are welcome/appreciated, cheers guys :)

CAFEPRESS ONLINE AGREEMENT CHANGES

Hello to all designers,

Today, CafePress announced several changes to our Content Owner Agreement and related agreements and policies. These changes are designed to help us continue to provide opportunities for content owners and designers like you to profit from our unique, print-on-demand solution and the business relationships we've developed over the years. The new Content Owner Agreement shall become effective on November 1, 2013, and the revised terms are available for full review on the CafePress website .

The changes include:

Rewarding good: Designers contributing to the CafePress Marketplace can now earn between five and 10 percent royalty with bonus royalty structures up to an additional 5%. (Shop commission structures do not change.) This new structure will be based on a designer's interactions within the CafePress community and is intended to allow our most valued designers to earn more than they do today. These changes are set forth in Section 7.1 of the Content Owner Agreement and can also be viewed on the Fees and Royalties supplemental terms (formerly the Marketplace and Shop Services policy) and our new Sales Quality Score terms.
Adjusted royalties for third-party sales channels, fan portals, and branded merchandise: We continue to invest in development of additional channels and products, and in order to continue to provide our community with the broadest distribution for their design work as well as high quality content licenses and base products, and moving to a flat, five percent, royalty rate for these types of sales. For more on these changes please refer to our Fees and Royalties page.
Image usage permissions: Due to our new Smart Products feature and other platform extensions, CafePress may need to alter a given image for optimal placement, sizing and etc. You can find these changes in Section 4 of the Content Owner Agreement.
Shop Sales: We have updated our "Shop Pricing Policy" to the "Shop Special Terms". We've ve simply included a chart to help you more easily understand Shop Fees and plan options. Further clarified, if you add a product to both your Shop and the Marketplace, different royalty rates will apply and added information on your Shop Performance Bonus eligibility and Bulk Discount offerings.

We anticipate these changes will help CafePress provide even more opportunities for your designs to be sold, whether through improved Marketplace promotion or enhanced third-party distribution channels. We also anticipate there will be questions about the new Content Owner Agreement.

Please find our FAQ on the new changes in our Frequently Asked Questions section of the website.

Please find our open forum thread discussing the new Content Owner Agreement where our staff are monitoring and responding to questions in our user forums.

Thank you for your continued use of CafePress and here's to a successful and profitable holiday season for us all!

« on: August 14, 2013, 11:44 »
I have been looking for an end user license agreement, I really don't want to write it myself not only because English ain't my first language but also because I don't want miss any important point, so I wonder if there is anybody willing to share it

it would be perfect if it has incidence on the following licenses: personal, commercial, editorial and extended

thanks in advance!

Adobe Stock / Fotolia - Unsold contents (ANNOUNCEMENT)
« on: July 24, 2013, 08:04 »
Dear contributor,

In order to give a second chance to images that have not sold for over 6 months, we have decided to update our sales conditions slightly.

After 6 months without sales, the content price will now be set according to this new pricing chart:
- XS & S = 1 Credit
- M & L = 2 Credits
- XL, XXL & V = 3 Credits

We hope that this new pricing for unsold images will help increase sales for these images. Once the image has sold 3 times, the contributor will have the ability to reset his image price once again.

We are sure these new conditions will give new life to unsold content and will help you to generate even more revenue by increasing the visibility to your unsold content.

Kind regards.

Print on Demand Forum / FAA Official Announcement
« on: July 20, 2013, 16:11 »
This announcement was going to be made next week... but since the cat appears to be out of the bag...

We bought a new domain name (Pixels.com), and we're going to use it to expand our product offering (e.g. iPhone cases) and help our members improve their international sales.

Here is an announcement page with details about Pixels.com and how it's going to be used:

http://fineartamerica.com/announcementpixels.html

Eventually, all of the new products that get introduced on Pixels will make their way onto your Artist Website, if you want them there. You'll have the option. The same thing goes for shopping cart widgets, etc.

Right now, the only new product on Pixels.com is iPhone cases. Don't worry - we'll be offering Samsung cases, shortly, as well.

If you don't want to sell iPhone cases on Pixels.com, that's absolutely fine. Just login to your account (on FAA or on Pixels.com), and use the "bulk edit prices" tool to remove the preset markup for the iPhone cases from all of your images. That will instantly remove iPhone cases from your product offering on Pixels.com.

Sean
