None of the above.
What you need is imagination, research abilities and a nice looking girlfriend.

You can even do it with a dog, if you dont have a girlfriend, or a butterfly.

can you upload pictures with your eyes? don't you have to photograph it somehow?

I won't move a single picture, I would if they were willing to make another SS, a proper SS with even higher royalties, the same or less won't make me happy

even if they make it better we never know what they will pull tomorrow

Just received my iMac 27" i7 16 gigs ram, fusion drive. It rocks. Very fast. Will calibrate the screen and away I go. The glossy screen does bother me a bit. It's the first time I have not had a matt monitor so I will see if it is a problem. Others I spoke to were not bothered by it and my fingers are crossed.

I love my iMac. I am converting from PC. The shiny screen needs cleaning a lot. Somehow seems to find spots that are probably from my club soda and spit when I am shouting on the phone >:( ;D

 ;D ;D ;D

I would suggest to the admin to include DPC in the Microstock Poll Results on the right.

It would be interesting!

are you opted in? do you have any reports from FT regarding DPC?

I'm opted out 4 weeks ago and will stay! We can only see the difference in the number of files between Fotolia and DPC but I think it would be interesting how are the sales there!
Nobody here is posted such information!

But there is no way to differ DPC-payments from the FT-payments!?
You dont see where the buyer (FT or DPC) has bought the Image.

Yes, it could say only opted in contributors and for all their sales unfortunately...!

opted in contributors don't have any kind of reports, if they had at least one would report here and also FT would explain further that matter but again FT don't care and never will

seen it 49 times already, I wish they don't send it once again...

Interesting. It is my first time getting it.

first comment on this promotional email is from March 12th 2013

Beaches and foxes :)

Likewise my first New York Gallery "appearance" - sounds nice. Thanks for pointing out the instagram picture of setup. I'm following them now so perhaps there'll be more shots later on. I don't recognize any of the shots they've tweeted about, but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled!

same here but I don't know which picture they are talking about, email doesn't tell

By default, all Fotolia content is opted in for sale at the Dollar Photo Club (DPC), but sales there do not count towards your Fotolia level. The contributor receives a subscription royalty (according to level) on each sale.

The part about "DPC sales not counting towards the Fotolia ranking level is not true.

One DPC sales counts like a regular sub sale at Fotolia (1/4).

"...is not true." .... - harsh word - you could say : "... it is not correct."

Call it as you like.

I just wanted to say that if you reach out to other photographers you should stick to the facts, because otherwise it looks strange.

Whoopee.... what a relief for the clubbers!
Another thing that looks strange to me is professionals staying opted in to the DPC.

you need to understand they have expenses and all major problems, we don't!  :o ;D

YAY is the worst in terms of pricing

interesting numbers, guess we have been watching that for a while

but with a 315 to 320 M $ revenue prediction for 2014, 5M $ in reviewing costs with a 20% acceptance ratio doesn't look much (if 10 cents per review)

storage must be a lot cheaper too

anyway what are your thoughts?

162
not in the UK

instead of complaining 24h/7 days a week regarding all agencies why don't you open one?

164
At a constant aperture, increasing the ISO from 100 to 400 will only halve the exposure time, not quarter it as you suggest above.

that is not correct, it will

6 M files are 30 weeks of 200k files/week

it's a major achievement guys, so keep it up!

On 3rd May DPC had 18% less files than Fotolia (calculated with the search tearms Business, People, Animal, Nature and Beautiful).
On 10th May it was 21%.
Today it is 23,9% (or 6.750.000 files less).
I suppose that means that since the announcement of the higher subscription royalties, MORE files/contributors are opted out instead of less ...  ;D
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that their next move will be :  DPC entry level 99 $

how do you think the 99$ would make things any better? are we trying to push down the subscription prices? do we want to see SS pulling down the 250$ mark?

I really don't see the advantage of driving buyers from one agency to another to get the same or less, please tell me your thoughts, cheers!

Dear Contributor,

We have some great news - our subscription payouts have all increased, starting from today!

Depending on whether your images are opt-in or opt-out with DPC, your new subscription payout will grow to either 20% or 25% of the face value of the download - with a guaranteed minimum of the commission you earn now.

So you can potentially earn five times more per subscription download (if you opt-in with DPC).

We notice you have opted out from DPC - to fully benefit from commission increases with Fotolia, and additional revenue from untapped markets, we recommend you opt-in to our new fast-growing subscription website, Dollar Photo Club.

If you want to add your images back to Dollar Photo Club click here if not, then you need to do nothing.

We hope these changes will bring you significant additional revenues, starting now.

Thank you

The Fotolia Team

I will opt back in if they change the terms to 50 cents per $1 image, change their terms to "in perpetuity" unless we choose to raise your commissions. And we all know the answer to that.

at this moment the question is: do we really want to drive buyers to DPC?

I would say no, we have tons of fair agencies (ok with zero sales) and 50 cents doesn't look exciting once that is all we will get, there are no ODs, ELs and SODs

they need to push the 10$ plan to 250$ and introduce the other plans as well and perhaps get ride of fotolia

I would say exposure time once the light coming in isn't artificial like the ISO is

Delete all keywords before requesting a deletion of the image and they become instantly unsearchable.

great idea!

Images are available for sale for 180 days after theyve been deleted. Theyre only searchable for the first half of that (90 days). After that they wont be visible but theyll be available to customers whove already downloaded them.

(information I have requested this morning and got this reply 26 minutes after)

174
I had a couple of subs for 40 cents.

maybe I am having buyers that get all their plans but even if so it looks like a lot of bad luck, not one different from 29 cents

175
today all my sales were between 0.23 and 0.27, fotolia is lying.

we should get 0.5 for every  M subsricption image and 1 for L !

yeah, same stuff here, they need to update that and the pricing page as well (http://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/ImagesPricing)
