DepositPhotos / Re: Activcate Promotion at Deposit Photos
« on: April 02, 2010, 11:57 »
Promotional program is still not over I still have promo program activated and working for me. But I received email just yesterday that promo program will be over in April 16, 2010 for the users who have registered until March 1st, 2010. So last 2 weeks are left.

I am not clear whether stockastic is suggesting the view counts at The3dstudio.com are bogus or the other site mentinoed here. The view counts at The3dstudio.com are accurate.

[email protected]
No, I think there was a confusion of sites. 22,202 views and no sales would look suspiciously if they were on GraphicLeftovers.
Although if so much views and no sales are on the3Dstudio it is probably not very good sign too.

Adobe Stock / Re: Exclusive image sales at Fotolia?
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:35 »
I have some exclusive images at Fotolia that I uploaded there long time ago when I was submitting only to Dreamstime and Fotolia. If my photo was refused at DT at that time I submitted it exclusively to FT. Now I dont submit photos exclusively anywhere because I submit to more agencies now.

But interesting thing is that there is maybe something about it. I mean some images I have exclusive there are much more popular (in contrast to non-exclusive images that I have in my portfolio).

My exclusive examples. Views and downloads are much bigger when compared to (non-exclusive) rest of my portfolio.

Woman with scales - Views 409 Downolads 35
Waterfall - Views 756 Downolads 20

At one time (years ago), these images where viewed and downloaded quite often. I never found out reason why exactly maybe of exclusivity. (Who knows?) These days these images are still viewed and downloaded but seldom.

This is another example of exclusive file. Interesting thing about this one is that it usually sells in Extended RF License.

Furrows - Views 371 Downolads 11

But I am unsure if it has something to do with exclusivity. But as I sayed there may be something about it.

Had someone photo sales there already?

Yes, about a week after uploading (using the FTP account GLO provided really fast after mailing them), I got my first sale (http://graphicleftovers.com/graphic/hotel-bell-service-bell-317/ref=Franky242/) which came as a rather big surprise to me, being rather new in stock photography. By checking the views on my photos (I do not do any vectors), I can definitely recommend to upload there - they are fast, friendly and have a fair acceptance ratio!

Thats good to hear. I congratulate you to your sale! :)
I thought photo sales will be very rare (if any) there but now I see that it is also possible to make some money there with photos.

Anyone else had success with selling photos there?

I hope that also danoph will came here and tell us something about their attitude towards photo selling at their site.

155
danoph How about photos? Are photos selling well on your site? Because your site looks much more aimed at graphics it makes me wonder if uploading of photos is worth there?

What are you talking about man?? ??? Your post is nonsense to me. So what's going on?? ???
What a nice attitude. Danicek is right. Ploink.
No Danicek isnt right. If you where reading all posts about this problem, not just taking parts from it, you could see. But not so big deal with me anyway. Discussion about that problem would be probably endless, and with no solution. :) So I am not going to continue in it. I will behave according to the rules of this forum (as I always did/do) and according how authority (Leaf) tell me to behave. Thats it.

After uploading process is very easy there. If you have your data saved in IPTC you have to do nothing more. Simple just upload and they will go to pending immediately. There is no need to select or confirm anything. Everything is set to default. This is really fast. I was kindly surprised when I uploaded my first batch.

I just signed up and queued up a bunch of files to upload.  It looks like every one is going to fail with "Error #2038" and there's no way to cancel the upload so I just closed the browser to kill it.  I emailed a request for an FTP account.

Not a very promising start.

I also got this error sometimes. For me helped to close window and wait for some time. And than it worked again. I am unsure why this happens. I asked for FTP too but I havent received answer yet.

GLStock / Re: GraphicLeftovers - Pricing
« on: March 19, 2010, 11:03 »
I put all mine  at  $5 also, except few at $10: similar images were not in their database

Yes, probably this is the right way to go. Pricing common images at default 5$ and then pricing unique or not so common images higher.

GLStock / GraphicLeftovers - Pricing
« on: March 19, 2010, 02:24 »
I have a question regarding pricing of images at GraphicLeftovers. I am totally new to that site but to my big surprise I had sale (5$) yesterday just few minutes after my file was approved! That made me very happy and one thing came to my mind. What about rising prices to maximum? (20$) What do you think? Do buyers on this site "look at prices" or they really "dont care". My point is that I am little bit afraid to raise prices because that could lead to no sales. I am unsure anyway. Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. How does pricing affect sales there?

161
well his link does send you to an image of his and it has sold so I have no reason to doubt his honesty.  If you are linking to one of your images anywhere on the internet it is probably a wise move to include your referral link.
Thank you leaf for your point. I much appreciate it.

I am in process of uploading my graphics there. I just started and I have first sale! Wow! 8)
That was fast!
I thought it would take ages to sell there, because they looked to me so unknown and not overflowed by tons of images like other agencies. But maybe this is an advantage! Realy interesting site.

This was sold - 3d Render Concept Cars Rainbow

Now this looks like referral link spamming to me.

What are you talking about man?? ??? Your post is nonsense to me. Referral links are allowed here I see them everywhere in here.
That file was sold and I wanted to share may thoughts and happines about it with everyone, in relevant forum thread. Who whats to view it can do so, who not not. Is everyone free will.
So what's going on?? ???

DepositPhotos / Re: DepositPhotos affiliate program
« on: March 14, 2010, 16:36 »
Are you curious what kind of link you should use if you want to link to your portfolio on DepositPhotos with referral code included? Because there is no such link on Affiliate program tab at DepositPhotos (there is only link to main site) I emailed to support and they told me I should use this link.

Link to my portfolio with referral:
http://depositphotos.com/portfolio.php?id=1002040&ref=1002040

You can change numbers to your ID and you will be ready to go.
Also I have been told that it is possible to use &ref=your_id anywhere on site, not only on main page.
I hope this helps. ;)
