Today I discovered that contributor MHSKYPIXEL is selling a large number of my wildlife images under his name on Envato (PhotoDune & Elements) and also Pond5. https://elements.envato.com/user/MHSKYPIXELhttps://www.pond5.com/artist/mhskypixelI suspect there are a lot more stolen images in his portfolio. Better check to see if there are any of yours. Still investigation if he is also selling stolen images on other agencies.

Anyone else noticed a problem with reporting footage/video sales on SS lately? This is the message send to SS support. Still waiting for an answer.
"Just want to find out if footage sales are reported accurately or if there may be a bug? Yesterday I observed the thumbnails of three of my video clips displayed on the "world map" of latest downloads. Yet, 12 hours later none of those clips are reported as sales. In fact I did not have any footage sales for a few days now. The images displayed on the world map of latest downloads at the same time as my video clip thumbnails all appear under my earnings summary, but none of the footage sales. Is there an explanation for this discrepancy?"

Some time ago I joined a site Buy Stock Sound to sell my sound effects. Now they have changed their name to Fantero and here is the interesting part: Albumo is now part of their network. Very surprising. I though they disappeared from the face of the earth. I still have bad memories from Albumo. Probably the worst site that I have ever contributed to and I remember all the effort it required to get my account closed. Now they emerged from the dead. Wonder what is the source of the image that they have online? Here is the newsletter that I received:

As a wildlife photographer I take great care to identify the animals/plants I photograph and to add the correct scientific/Latin names, also in the keywords. Now suddenly a whole batch of my images was moved back from the "pending" section to the "pending your edit" section with a note: "Please re-edit keywords. Please remove all Latin/scientific names as they are not parsed". What does this mean? I think they lost their minds.

Just started to do some images of subjects on a white background using a diffuser softbox. Unlike a cutout where you select the subject and delete the background, my images (like so many others) are photographed on white and the levels adjusted in PS until the background is absolutely white (255), EXCEPT for a faint and diffused shadow just beneath the subject. I like this better than deleting the whole background since it gives the images a bit more depth and a 3D look.
I am just a bit concerned about my description and keywording of these images. When is it an isolation and when can you use the words isolation and isolated in the description and keywords? To quote Steve-oh in another post: If in your keywords or description you say the image is isolated against white and it isn't, then it will be rejected. You need to make sure the whole white isolated background is pure white (255, 255, 255). Make sure there are no off-white spots any where, no matter how small. Looking at many isolated images on all the big stock sites I could not determine any consistent criteria. Just dont want to have my images rejected for naming it an isolation while there is a shadow area that is not pure white.
Any opinions or suggestions on this?

What do you think of the new Fotolia watermark? Look at this image for example. It will take me 15 seconds to clone out the small 'Fotolia' letters and have a perfectly usable web size image without a trace of a watermark. I wonder why they have changed it. http://www.fotolia.com/id/974101

I started with a Canon 10D (6 MP) and later a Canon 20D & 30D (8 MP). Recently a got a Canon 400D as a light travel camera and the pro 1D MK III (both 10 MP).
I am somewhat undecided on whether I should submit images of the full 10 MP to sites such as SS that offer subscription sales. To give away a 10 MP image for 25 or 30c does not feel right. Alternatively I can submit the full resolution images only to those sites that charge according to size (such as StockXpert) and submit a smaller version to the subscription sites but then how much smaller? Two further problems with this: It will complicate my workflow and it may happen that a site that do not offer subscription sales today may decide to do so tomorrow (as was the case with Dreamstime). What about the future? 10 MP may seem quite large today, but in a year or two that may be quite average.
I will appreciate your thoughts on this.

Just need to share my excitement with someone. Just today received my brand new Canon 1D MK III the first one delivered to South Africa. This would not have been possible if it was not for my earnings from MicroStock. Now for the first time I have a proper camera to put behind my Canon 400 /2.8. Well I am off now must find something to shoot ?

At Fotolia you are allowed to set you own price for an Extended RF License within a range of 10-50 credits (of which you earn 35% as a contributer with a bronze rating). What criteria do you use to set the price? Obviously you want to earn the maximum revenue, but you still need to be competitive with other similar images (which varies widely).
When I first started uploading to Fotolia I did not pay too much attention and at the time I left the price of the extended license on the default of 10 credits. Lately someone is buying quite a number of my photos at this ridiculously low price (good for him, bad for me). Now I am increasing the price on all my photos still set at 10 credits, but I am hesitant to increase it to the maximum of 50. Obviously the more popular images should be set higher and the less popular ones lower. What do you do? Also, is there a way to change the price on all your photos at the same time, or do you need to go to each individual photo? Doing this for all 450 photos in my portfolio is quite time consuming.

Hi all Just joined the group and this is my first post. Today I received this message from Dreamstime: Dear Nico, This notification was sent by a potential buyer, who is interested to download one of your files in an additional format. If you are able to provide such format please use the following link in order to upload it: http://www.dreamstime.com/modify.php?imageid=824150 Buyer needs the RAW image. Did any of you receive such a request before? I am not sure what to do  . I don't feel too comfortable to send out my RAW files. As it appears there no additional compensation for doing so. Thank you for your advice.
