I forgot to ask, did you check with your web host to see if they offer backup/restore options? My host is Bluehost and they have a free backup/restore feature.
So do Justhost (same group as Bluehost) and they selectively back up - and lose files. I am having to re-do four months work as all my images from the symbiostock_rf file up to beginning of August are missing and they do not have backups. Total of 1,202 files I have to redo

I think compound keywords work in the premium plug-in

Try the settings option in SYXTra, the box near the bottom under Small Options for editorial licence

I see it now, said I was not at full capacity That sounds very useful. There are bound to be other occasions/reasons that downloads are not managed so it would be useful for site owner to know so they can contact client before client contacts them.

Further to Cathy's reply make sure you use Image Categories not Categories

Is it possible to let the site owner know automatically if an image is not downloadable by the client?
The way my site is at the moment (with the majority of my symbiostock_rf file missing) means that a client can pay for an image and once they have paid they get a note on screen to say the image is not available (Mark did a test purchase for me to find out)
I could of course delete all my images so they don't show but they are useful to refer to to get the descriptions before I delete them.

I put all license info on that page so there is no need to change the link..
Thats great for you, but There is need to be able to change the link, because I have a different set up.
What happens if your clients buy with different licences ?

I mentioned something like this in the development thread and asked whether we should put ALL licences on one page but did not get a response.
The reason for asking about putting all licences on one page is that if someone purchases assorted licences whichever one shows will be incorrect.

I am pleased that you have discovered their whereabouts - mine seem to be gone completely and I have now worked out that I have 1,202 to re-do

As an aside, if there are missing files in symbiostock-rf client will get a note to this effect after paying, site owner does not get to see this and would therefore assume all has gone well. ----- Cathy, Leo is telling you it does not work for you ie: on your site

Justhost is currently 2.00 a month for a 48month period

I am only guessing but I would think you could turn it off by clicking on the Yes in the licence creation area - just select Yes and put a note in the description box with brief overview about standard licence. If you click yes for extended etc they do not appear below so I would imagine it is the same with the standard.

How are you uploading the image, you do not have any sizes showing, which, following on from my recent experience makes me wonder if you have uploaded correctly, or do not have the full size version processed to the correct folder

If you are concerned you could always put the small full sized version in with the description

ShazamImages - thanks, useful to know which files. For those of you who have not come across it ShazamImages started this useful thread - http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-technical-support/tips-on-how-to-administer-a-production-symbiostock-website/ . I added this one as the words back-up are words everyone understands. No idea why it happened - maybe during the downtime the host had if they were doing something to my files at the time? I don't think even I would be daft enough to delete those files . Thanks stockphoto-images, no, no explanation but at least I know why some of my images were uneditable now and I will be doing more regular back ups, straight from ftp. I have some spare external hard drives so will get sorted and rotate them off site Cathy, I agree, we need to find out HOW do do back-ups without everything timing out

I have just learned the hard way -
1. DO NOT rely on your host to back up your site
2. DO NOT trust the back-ups you can download from your host
If a file is to big they may well skip it
I think the only way would be to ftp everything to your chosen back up area.
Other people will can let you know the most important files to back up but in my case it is currently
Symbiostock_rf
As most of my files (over 1,100.00 ish) somehow disappeared from this folder a few weeks ago I have a lot of work to do re-uploading/editing/seo-ing/publishing. I do not know how it happened and it took me a while to work out the full extend and reason for the problems I was having.

Back up keeps crashing/timing out - waiting now for webchat with host help - that is about a 30 minute wait

I do not know how to verify - BUT I have realised what date it is and am trying a JH back up from 6th August, a day or so before the problem seems to have arisen - please keep your fingers crossed for me
