I wonder if we should have a list of live sites so that they do not currently link to those that are still being worked on.? I think I am at least a couple of weeks away as want to have a good number of images up plus get the faster search Leo is talking about as they can be a bit slow at times, more so if it cannot find images from network members than when it can I think

927
Instead of paying someone to check our images why not, if anyone wants to spend money - put it into some kind of marketing.  I have no idea what as this is not my field but I expect someone does :)

928
Well, my site also can be refered as SS :)

I think yours should be SSSS :D   - do you have any snakes up yet

929
Get your website up and running and then worry about who to link to or who you want to link to you - you can remain independent if you do not like what everyone else is doing

930
I think you might have been reading the wrong threads, you confused me when you PM'd me about this.  I think the only person I have seen so far refer to Symbiostock as SS is you ?   Most of us seem to use the full version or Symbio

931
I read it as being more to check on the quality of the images, we have all seen photos that look great as thumbnails but absolute rubbish at full size with regard to noise, sharpness etc.  If someone has a gallery full of noisy, out of focus pictures of  people with heads missing, poles growing out of them, lots of logos etc then they could quickly ruin the reputation of the network.

Someone totally new to stock and seeing the software available and thinking "oh I could make some money easily at that " who has never gone through the stock review minefield and learned what is generally required might need a little nudge in the right direction and I would think for the sake of everyone else we should be entitled to let them know.

Sure, you can put whatever you want on your site and in your galleries but if I don't like what someone is doing I would not link to them

Try:

##

[php]

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 30     ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 60   ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 512M      ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (62MB)

; Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
post_max_size = 25M

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 35M

#####

Name it:
php.ini
and place it in your :
public_html
file

I have no idea if this will work but it is the relevant bits I have pulled out of mine.  You can adjust the figures but these currently work for me (using Justhost)

Two Positive changes
1.  When you select All Images / Drafts to work on it takes you back to drafts when you return to all images, much easier than keep having to select that option.

2.  Not sure if this is a change or not, just not noticed it before.  If you accidentally upload duplicate image and then navigate to the front end page for that image it shows both of them  - means you can easily delete the second one

V 1.2.6   Chrome and Firefox

Not urgent and might not be a bug
I am sure a few days ago in the headings we could have categories for instance - Animal-Dog--Dobermann - now it only goes to main and child, not grandchild

Nice one Tim - I have done a variation now, had managed to change some of the text colour and now added a picture to the footer, not sure if it works but carries on from kerioak.com site background to a certain extent

It does have a VERY unwanted side effect (when I tried it and it seems to be the same on your site) - try logging out of your site then logging in from the Login/Register link at the top of the page.

Putting an edited footer in the child theme caused the problems I posted about here http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-technical-support/i%27ve-broken-it-loginregister-option-at-top-goes-to-eula-i-think/  - the way I did it anyway

Feed the squirrel, and you will believe ...

It does not work when logging into (my) site though - as Philens mentioned it does not work when you first try, only when you get a second sort of error screen

I don't think it is  Chrome that is stopping it working for you as I just downloaded and installed it to test, strange.  Wonder why you cannot see it when you try and register

Possibly because I had not put everything back together after deleting it all to find my login problem.  I think it should work now

939
What happens if you do not have an "all images" , I don't think it is in the default and I only put it in because it was useful to be when I first started loading as it meant I could check I had categorised them all :)

I decided to try a different sort of captcha - a picture based one called Confident Captcha. It show 8 images and you have to click on the photo that matches the word. You need to register on their site to get the various api codes, but it all seems very easy and secure.

Anyone who wants to see what it looks like can try to register on my site and you will see the way it works

Hi Steve,  I found a slight problem with your captcha login - it is too big for the space available and you have to scroll up and down to see what it wants and the pictures are very dark, took me quite a few seconds to work out which one was underwater as could not see what they were

FOUND MY PROBLEM

I wanted my name and Leo's/Symbiostock in the footer (not wordpress) so I edited the footer then loaded it in the child theme - that worked but it appears it broke the login page.

I really do not have a clue what I am doing and is all trial and error  :)

944
Sorry, not sure why I had the name Carol in my head

It appears that one can login using either Login/Register or Please Log In, so I guess I will leave those alone, but I have question under this topic...

when I login, I am taken to the Customer License page. I would like to go to Home. On what page or how can I fix that?

Posted this question in another thread, but Leo said to post here.

I must admit I have not noticed which page I go to first as I tend to go to address/wpadmin and log in that way when I first open the site unless I want to check something as a customer

946
Carol - you can change your watermark at any time but until Leo makes the update he mentioned it will only affect the images you upload from now on, not the previous ones.

947
You can change all the file sizes I think as well as prices under Symbiostock - Author Options.   I do not know about the displayed pictures though - not risking breaking anything else for now.

948

I am finding that my watermark barely shows on some images, and others, it is way too prominent. I thought about changing it yesterday, but didn't want to break anything so didn't. I will wait for Leo's fix. It will be awesome to be able to control that on the fly.

Hi Carol, try using a drop shadow or stroke within your watermark, that might help.  Have a look at this file to see if it might help you

I have also joined and I'm impressed by what Leo has done!
My site is
http://stockabily.com
I have now about 300 pictures there and target to have 7000 within the next 6/8 weeks.
I'm fighting to get things as I want them to be and I have got valuable info from this forum!
I do not know yet if I have to network with similar or with complementary....I'm thinking about it;

I have many practical questions, but try to figure out with the info given. There are points for which I have not been able to find answers:
1) How can we change the size of the text for the "image categories"? I like to have a smaller text for the categories as it will fill more than one sreen with the actual size
2) Is there a way to edit picture by category or by filtering with keywords. Otherwise once we will have many pictures there it will be a problem to edit them.
3) is there a way to make bulk change in categories once published or shall it done one by one.
Thanks in advance!
Jean

Nice work Jean

1.  Yes there is, I asked this the other day and it was suggested I look in the CSS after I had already said I could not find it, however if you put this in your child theme css it might work - no guarantees, I work by trial and error

2.  I use the "drafts" option in all images but am doing them one by one as none of mine have descriptions and I am doing the SEO as I go as well and reworking any keywords, spelling mistakes I find

3.  Yes you can bulk change prices and sizes in the Symbiostock area

Someone mentioned about listing all members on our sites even if they are not part of our network - I think this is probably a good idea as search engines seem to like links.  If you did not like what someone does on their site you could just miss them off :)

I have used the information from Cascoly's table to create this page and just tucked it away with the information pages sort of out of sight but where search engines might go
http://stockimages.kerioak.com/symbiostock-network-members/

Thoughts ?  (and any corrections of course)
