Featurepics.com / Re: Anyone selling at Featurepics?
« on: December 29, 2006, 00:04 »
yes i have sold a few at Featurepics since i join. i am happy cos i get 70% of the payout. I think with time, it may work here. They are friendly and they take suggestions, so with such positive attitude i would say the future is good for them. I set my prices mainly betwwn $4-$5 with resize options.

LuckyOliver.com / Re: LO to Offer Extended Licenses
« on: December 25, 2006, 20:43 »
i have not sign up for the Extended License at LO. I dont like the idea of unlimited runs. So i will take the wait and see approach for now and see how Extended License will be in the future for all stock sites. If that is the direction, that i may opt in, if not i will not opt in.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Dilemma

i think you should report it. They should not be doing things like that. Its already so cheap microstock??? Besides its not ethical to do somehting like that.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: How do you upload to iSTOCK ?
« on: December 22, 2006, 21:01 »
you upload simultaneously by using Mozilla Firefox and opening a few tabs to upload. I do that sometimes but other times i just open a tab and do other things as i upload one by one....but then with 15 uploads and my low approval rate. its a slow process, but better than nothing cos my best sales is there followed by Shutterstock. So its worth it. i just got 100 uploads after 6 months.

You can download the software for Firefox at my blog if you cant find it. It also has some useful infor for new stock beginners as i was one too ;-)

1) What do you sell at Deviantart?
2) Has it been successful? eg like istock and Shutterstock? Lots of places are just plain useless

Would love to hear more on posters and stuff.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Does Istock have a referal program?
« on: December 02, 2006, 10:53 »
so only buyers who click on your istock link and buy credits then you get $10??

If its a photographer that clicks on your istock link and sign up under you, you don't get anything? Most sites have something eg commission of 1.5% or $1 etc. I was wondering abt istock on this too. Can't really tell from their referral banner.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia and their code problems
« on: December 01, 2006, 06:49 »
oh?

243
ok i am still undecided on this as once you start it i think there is no going back and i dont want to regret on a system that i cant go out from after organising. So i am assessing my options before i take the plunge.
(Freeware....me not spending a cent on software as they just get over-ride by new ones all the time. me only buy microsoft for word/powerpoint etc).

Heard of these two freewares for keywording? Used them before? Which is better?
1) Pixvue
2) irfanview
3) XnView

they are constantly changing the game in istock  ??? makes one wonder what on earth are they up to and when they will stablise?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Microstock Royalties?
« on: November 23, 2006, 00:50 »
Big Stock is not so bad,  had the same no of sales there as Fotolia but the commission I get is double at Big Stock vs Fotolia bcos most sales were 50cent to $1 verses Fotolia of 33cents or 66cents

Off Topic / Re: Alexa
« on: November 21, 2006, 20:07 »
hmm...interesting stats....IS has always been the popular one and every major stock agency are bad mouthing istock bcos of her cheap photos and the darling of stock sites so its not surprising that she has emerged tops. She has been in the news so often that its a matter of time people became aware of her existence. I knew about istock first before the rest of the stats sites i think

These would be the standard statistics, it may only be a reflective figure and not the real one cos not everyone has Alexa install on their computer and Alexa i heard only track those people who have it. But still its better than no stats. Thats the way it is with stats co, evey AC nel etc etc

Bigstock.com / Re: BigStock Sales
« on: November 19, 2006, 05:07 »
i joined in June 06 in Bigstock and i now i have about 300 photos online there but my sales are not so good, i hope it picks up. i am still waiting for my first payout sigh.....5 months and not $30 yet? i was hoping to be able to get a payout every month by Nov this month. Not too sure what is happening??? Am i the only one? All the things i sell there have been random but i have happy to have $1 sale as long as the commision is good i am not too concern about slow sales. Big Stock is known in the industry as slow and steady.

New Sites - General / Re: www.paxxion.com
« on: November 19, 2006, 05:02 »
sounds interesting but not sure if it will work. if nothing sells or sales are low, you will loose out and the site has nothing to loose cos you are effectively paying to put your photos there. i usually dont upload to anything that asks me for money upfront until it is tried and tested cos it could mean that my money goes down the drain,
