123RF / Re: Model Releases
« on: August 28, 2011, 22:00 »
Hi Johnny,

You don't need to upload a different Model Release for each photo-shoot of the same model. What you need to do is only attach the MR of a particular model, then attach all images of her (regardless of the different shoots).

Kindly follow the steps as below:
1. Login to 123RF.com
2. Go to "More" under For Photographers section at the footer.
3. Click "Releases" and upload the Model Release. Then, you'll be able to see the list of Release.
4. Click on the "Attach photo or detach photo from this release" at the Action Column.
5. Check the "Attach" checkbox  on the image you want to attach.

Notes:
**Once the checkbox is 'checked/unchecked' the information is already been saved.
**Click on 'Back to Release Folder' to attach more release.

Hope this information helps.

123RF / Tips on How do I start Keywording?
« on: August 26, 2011, 01:57 »
Hiya ;),

No matter how talented you are, your masterpieces wouldn't sell if designers can't find them. To date, keywords are still the only reliable method that are used to locate photographs.

Therefore, for your convenience, if you have uploaded your images to 123RF, here's how you can keyword them quickly and painlessly.

You can read the full step-by-step article at our 123RF Blog on "How do I start keywording".

Have a great day ahead!

Many thanks,

123RF / Re: New to 123RF. Initial thoughts.
« on: August 24, 2011, 21:26 »
Just applied to 123RF the other day and started uploading the portfolio I have on other agencies. Three things that got my attention:

- Image review was almost immediate!! I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw that as my ftp transfer ended, almost half of my images where approved (50) and the other where pending. Then I hit F5 and more images where approved. How do they do that??

- Most images I sold on other agencies where rejected with Poor light / composition

- Most of the images rejected on other agencies where approved.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Hi Ruigsantos,

Thanks for the headsup.

123RF / Tips to Increase your Images Exposure
« on: July 22, 2011, 01:54 »
To all our beloved contributors, remember to Fave your images on 123RF.com.

Please follow steps as below:
1) Login to 123RF
2) Go to "Sell Images" under the category of "For Photographers" at the footer.
3) Click "Faved".
4) Select 5% of your total images.
5) Click "Add to Favorite" for those images that you like to Fave.

I reckon you'll be asking -- why is faving important? The simplest answer to this is SEARCH PRIORITY. Your Faved images will display on the first few pages whenever clients conduct a search. But this doesn't mean you should be spamming your keywords, yes!?

Anglee

123RF / Re: New feature on 123rf? What's this?
« on: June 27, 2011, 21:57 »
Hi All,

The commission will always be 50% nett, either Editorial or RF.

Let's me have a brief explanation about the main difference between RF and Editorial.

RF concept
1) Image is mainly for commercial usage. For example, advertising or promotion
2) Image does not contain any trademarked content, logo or brand
3) Image is attached with Model Release and Property Release.

Editorial concept
1) Image is mainly for non-commercial usage. For example, newspaper, magazine or educational purposes.
2) Image contains trademarked content, brand, logos
3) Image without Property Release OR Model Releases

You may refer to our Licensing for more information.

Hope this can clear your doubt.

And, don't forget about our 123RF's 10th Millions Image Upload Frenzy Party!

All the best!

123RF / Re: New feature on 123rf? What's this?
« on: June 26, 2011, 22:29 »
Hi All!

As you may already know, we have implemented a new feature on our site, the Checkbox "If my submissions are unfit for RF, I agree to allow them to be accepted into the Editorial Section provided they are deemed to be newsworthy." is now apparent when you submit images to be processed.

We implemented this because we understand that contributors are (at times) unable to obtain/acquire releases for street photography and other images. Therefore, in order to save your time to re-uploading to the Editorial section, we're going to shunt these into Editorials for you.

Hence, our reviewers will only accept your submissions into Editorial section as below:
1) Upon your agreement {By marking/checking the Checkbox}.
2) Submissions contain trademarked content, brand, logos and/or without Property Release OR Model Releases
3) Submissions are deemed to be of a newsworthy nature.

The box is checked by default because reasons as below:
1) To ensure submissions that are good but not suitable for RF section can be accepted into Editorial section quickly.
2) Maximize profit of contributors.
3) Increase Editorial content.
4) If the submissions are NOT newsworthy, we will not push it to Editorial in the first place.

We hope that this will clear any doubts you may have.

Thank you.

Regards,
Anglee

Hey guys,

Sorry for the image approval delay lately as we're experiencing a massive increase in submissions.

Our reviewers are working as fast as they can to approve your images.

Therefore, please be patient and bear with us.

Thanks for your understanding.

Notes:
Our reviewers do not practice mass rejection solely to reduce the submissions queue. Every image is rejected for a reason.

Many thanks,

123RF / Re: How do you delete photos off of 123RF?
« on: June 19, 2011, 21:43 »
My site mail notification says I have 19 new emails, but I can only see 11; ten of which I received on May 23 from the inspector(s) letting me know that my latest submission of 29 images were rejected because I neglected to assign model releases to them.  I assigned the proper releases and sent a reply on June 1, asking that the photos be reviewed, per the information in the rejection notices.  I've heard nothing to date.

Hi Csproductions,

Kindly email your UID to [email protected] thus we can check it for you.

Hi Sedge and Xalanx,

For Sedge, the average review time for new uploads {Newly join with initial submission} is within 2 working days. Kindly email your UID to [email protected] so that we can check it for you.

For Xalanx, contributors cannot submit a JPEG file that exceeds 20MB while there's no limit for EPS file submission.

Hope this clear your doubt.

Have a pleasant day!

123RF / Re: Are images coming from FTP automatically now?
« on: June 14, 2011, 22:08 »
Still not working. Just tried this morning. Editorial was working first then it's broken like for normal images but I do not have any more editorials to submit.

I am using Firefox 4 on Mac OS X but I guess I tried at work with Firefox 4 on Windows XP and results were even worse. Here I at least can see animated image.

Also if this make any difference I am using AdBlock.

Hi Melastmohican,

We will notify you via email once our IT personnel have looked through the cause of the issue you're facing now

Therefore, you may try-out filezilla to upload your images at the moment.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I already got 3 DLs, after my images became searchable yesterday. Nice. Now I don't where can I see which images got DLed. I checked June earnings, but all I get is that there were 3 DLs (subs) and the total sum, but nowhere to click to see the images. I didn't find a way of seeing DLs in my port and I can't find a way to sort them by DLs either. ???

Hi Slovenian,

Kindly find the steps to check which images have been downloaded as below:

2) Go to "For Photographers" section at the footer and click "More/Sell images"
3) Click "Download" and you will know which images have been downloaded.

Hope this information helps.

ftpresults.php?action=process does not show any results but images show up when I go to release_addphoto.php

Hi Melastmohican,

Thanks for the headsup. We've tested several times on our site and everything is working fine.

Hence, kindly advise us as below:
a) Which browser are you using?
b) Version of the browser.

So that we can proceed to investigate your issues further.

At the same time, you may try to re-upload your images via FTP in different browsers.

Lisa is right, I was exclusive at iStock for nearly 3 years, but just recently am back to independence again. Some things are a little different now, and I've been uploading to places in batches so I can see who likes what.

For example, I got a property release for a beach house of our friends and did one for my own house because interior shots are getting rejections without them from some sites. Navigating Shutterstock's LCV preferences; Dreamstime's similars rules, etc.

But, If I don't have a rejection reason, it's hard to figure out what they don't want. I don't much care about what the reason is, just to get one so I know what to cull from future uploads to that site.

Hi Jsnover,

I've informed our image reviewers team about your issue. Therefore, kindly check your email today.

Have a pleasant day.

It is not fixed. Images are still going to web server automatically.

Is everything ok for the ftp?

Please email to [email protected] if you're unable to upload images using FTP.
