iStockPhoto.com / Re: Uploading issues
« on: January 17, 2014, 12:13 »
I was finally able to upload using Deep Meta yesterday. I upload videos via FTP which seemed to work, however when I went to edit and submit them it took 3 tries each video...meaning I had to redo all the metadata each try. Was a pain.
:) same here, but with vectors, it seems upload is stuck for a while...

Does anybody has problems uploading to panthermedia lately? My last two batches were not processed. I would normally ask them but ... it takes a while until you get an answer.
Thank you.

I guess the next step will be subscriptions.

I like the fancy idea of us all giving away our images for free.
And such undermine the whole industry.

And actually, why shouldnt we. We are almost there anyway.

10 cents here and 25 cents there. And the distributors making all kinds of fancy trades with our content.

It can produce a much better feeling when you give a picture away to someone who needs it and he says thanks.
You first:)

Just signed up for a buyers account. I have to say first glance, nothing special. Images that we all could have created. Search for London or kids and see what I mean.

I do get the feel its the same style of images as Stocksy.

I was expecting to be blown away, but I have seen better images on Shutterstock to be honest.

What do you think?
I guess it's all about accomplished artists and curated collections just like thay said.

Too many in my opinion. DP should protect itself and us too from this. I can understand one or two but up to 50 from most contributors sounds a bit like a well planned fraud and I dont see why we have to pay for it. We pay enough taxes and cuts and comissions and all that other bs.

Instead of wasting time writing 1000 e-mails and read another 1000 agreements u should ask them for free meals daily for using  that image as a logo. ;D

Pixmac / Re: Pixmac merges with Pond5
« on: March 12, 2013, 10:12 »
This is kind of off topic but I want to mention it since admins are looking at this thread.

It is soooooo annoying that Pond5 down cases all the IPTC data.  I know most people don't seem to care but I can't stand looking at my titles and descriptions all in lower case feel compelled to fix them all.

Furthermore, I include city and country in my IPTC data but these always show up blank after upload in Pond5.

What is particularly frustrating about these issues is that it would probably take about 2 lines of code to fix all of them.

It could be because there are oh so many already online, best sellers but lots. There is also mail support wich is very helpful over there. You can ask for a detailed rejection reason, it will only help you.gl

« on: March 05, 2013, 09:31 »
I am sorry ShadySue, I meant no offense, just being objective. The point of having a forum is to discuss whatever the creator of the forum wants to discuss. It is the forum of Istock. Their house their rules. I dont see Istock or any other agency as a democracy  but as a business. If it's a good or a bad business that is another issue but the fact is that they dont want any bad publicity on their forum.  ;)

In my opinion it is their site, their forum, their rules. Play along or get banned. I would do the same if anyone would talk bad about me on my page or blog, whatever, especially if it was a public/customers involved one. I never read the forum rules but I am sure that there are some about not posting this or that.

DT has the worst reviewers along with VR and GL..

Don't mistake incompetent reviewers for picky sites. GL is site with lowest acceptance ratio for me but I wouldn't say that their reviewers are bad, they are just more demanding. If you take a look at their site, you won't find crap as on the other sites.
Everyone should place higher demands on himself first and blaming reviewers later.
and to be honest - if I was the one to decide I wouldn't approve OP's snapshot as well - regardless lcv, I don't like composition. And disturbing shadow on the right side, leafs in upper right corner, nail in the wall and probably wire visible under plant should be removed.

If they don't have to go through the entry submission, you should at least put a symbol on their profile pages of a little crown falling off a head.  :)
haha:)
