Adobe Stock / Late discovery of changes Fotolia to Adobe
« on: December 29, 2019, 11:54 »
Hi! I hope i can post this without too many "Oh my god"... And i tried to search before i posted, i promise!

Anyhow: For several reasons, I have been ignoring my stock ambitions for a long time. When i now tried to look up what has happened with my portfolios, I discovered that Fotolia has been absorbed into Adobe.

I am trying to find a log in, but i just cant find a way. I try to log in with my old log in details but not managing. Does anyone have a support email that i can write to? When i try to click on the support links on the adobe sites, they want me to create an account. But i must already have an account, where my old Fotolia portfolio now is. Funnily enough, I am receiving emails to my email address with sales stats, but there is no way to use these emails to contact someone.

Really grateful for any help!
Anne

iStockPhoto.com / Download my own MR
« on: May 14, 2015, 08:01 »
Hi all,
I have lost an istock MR. However, it has been used for an image on my portfolio. I would like to use it to upload some more photos from the same shoot. Is there a way i can download my own, already uploaded, MR?

Canva / Re: Canva sales
« on: April 19, 2015, 11:16 »
Hi guys!
Been away for the weekend and came back to read your encouraging emails - means a lot to hear feedback like that from seasoned pros!  Made my day!

I will keep on trying along Lee's comments. And yes will try Stocksy as well - although i already got rejected there as well once! Need to change something, that's for sure...

Hi all
would also appreciate some feedback: i applied and got a rejection impressively fast...

I sent this link, a site where all my photos are online:
https://www.colourbox.com/supplier/anne-ms-358

I have a lot of people images, maybe that is not what Canva wants? Also thinking, maybe it would had been better to send link to shutterstock, where i have a lot less images, but maybe a 'better' selection:

Feedback greatly appreciated!

Mostphotos.com / Re: Better keywording in Swedish?
« on: March 23, 2015, 14:00 »
But can you simply mix Swedish and English keywords?

And, please don't laugh, but i simply cannot figure out how i get my images from unpublished to published... I cannot find a button to press! And the irony is that i somehow did it some time back as i have images uploaded, but now i just can't find a way. Would appreciate if anyone can help (ursakta att jag kapar traden lite grann!!)

Tack for svar.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
« on: July 17, 2014, 23:32 »
It's not just emails, it's real life too. I was called up 2 days before new years eve by a promoter. They were launching a new drink. They had sponsored a whole new year's eve party, had paid hostesses lined up for the evening to work the floor. She wanted a photographer from 9 pm and more or less the whole night. And her budget was less than 100 euro for the photographer! But the photographer would of course 'be at the party' and get free drinks, i.e. this is a fun event for you to hang at!

Happy, best month, which is sweet as i havent had time to upload anything for quite some time. Had to take a day job... Got to pay those bills...

Photo Critique / Re: Rejected at SS
« on: April 24, 2014, 00:03 »
Hey ho i just wanted some input on the actual rejection so i can use it to enhance the image and re submit. But great to know that the photo is crap as well!  :D

BaldricksTrousers: the people in the background are blurred. I don't have the hang of this how to work editorial. Doesn't the photo need to be news worthy to be editorial? Is there a big difference in exposure/sales between RF and editorial?

Does anyone know where i can see the images that are going to be deleted. I've lost the email and i cannot see them under the Contributers area.

Photo Critique / Re: Rejected at SS

I'm guessing of course, but I'd say they don't like the shallow depth of field.  Maybe they think a photo of a photographer shooting a famous scene shouldn't blur out the scenic parts of that scene.
- Fair enough, but why not use that reason then?

Photo Critique / Rejected at SS
« on: April 21, 2014, 21:34 »
Hi i am having bad luck with SS. While overall my acceptance is around 75-80, lately its been around 20 with SS. And i usually just bite it and shoot on. But this one confuses me. It is rejected due to: Poor Lighting--Image has exposure issues and/or incorrect white balance.
What am i not seeing? Help appreciated!

I liked it too! For just a few euros you can buy a facebook ad which will bump up your likes quite quickly.

Hi Alex, am confused: did you manage to upload 1000 photos in one go of the same carnival? Or am i reading your message wrong?

And, as i live in Malta where carnival is really big: how do you manage to get them approved without MR? Is it so easy to just upload them as editorial? And is it worth it, i.e. does editorial sell as well as RF?

Hej Tony! You are a good friend, trying to influence a small competition on a local swedish site. But this is just one of hundreds, prob thousands... So don't take it against us for not fighting it with you. It's too much work to register to a site to then click on an image in a contest that is not relevant to me. Sorry!

I must have 70 percent rejection rate at fotolia, while at others i have 10 - 15 percent...

Symbiostock - Hosting / What size do i need
« on: September 07, 2013, 01:37 »
Hi am trying to register my new domain, and was wondering what webspace i should go for? I have used one.com in the past, and they have been really good. Their starting offer of 5 gb is for free for one year. Then they go up to 30 gb for 2.60 euro per month. What do i need? I dont have a big portfolio, hoping to have 1000 pictures by the end of the year

Just decided. I will go for a new name, and somehow include the word stock into it...

Symbiostock - General / How important is the name?
« on: September 07, 2013, 00:04 »
Hi i have a domain which was supposed to be used for something else but the work is just getting nowhere. Since it is there, i was thinking maybe i should use it for symbiostock. But the name is not optional: it is my personal name. What is your take on the name of the site?

22
I think you are all absolutely amazing and i will def give it a go! Considering the hours i put down on sites that gives very little return in terms of pay per hour, this is def worth a go. Thank you all for your patience!

OK guys, am sticking out my neck here, so PLZ do not chop off my head!! While my daughter has been at kiddies theatre i have been sitting in the cafeteria, trying to get started with symbiostock. I followed amandas tution, as suggested, and i got point 1, the hosting part. Although i already have another host for my own website, i dont mind using the recommended site, and i understand that i can have my own photostock site registered in just a few minutes, very exciting indeed.'

BUT then i go to step 2:  downloading symbiostock, and really sorry, but i am lost here... Donloading from the link from step 2, does it mean that i will download a template that i can then use? Or will i download some kind of program to which i then later hook up a template which i buy separately?

I also found a link to someone offering to set up my symbiostock site for 200 dollars/500 pics. As i am already stuck on step 2 this sounds like a really good deal for me. But who is the person offering, there is no name or presentation supplied. And what about the look on my site - again: is it one look for all, or do i chose a wordpress template that i supply to the mystery guy who then uploads it all for me?

Sorry if these are basic retard questions, but i know that this is the forum for the bighearted, kind people who understands and only answers if they want to help and ignores and moves on if irritated by my ignorance!! Now i need to find my daughter, as i am starting to wonder if the clown abducted her...

« on: August 18, 2013, 06:18 »
Hi Leo,
am new to symbiostock, and trying to catch on. It seems really exciting and i want to set up my site a.s.a.p. But do you recommend a wait a little bit so to jump on the next upcoming level?  In your post you mention an upcoming new version..

Thank you!

Xanox, stop being disingenuous: there are loads of sepia, cross-processed, tinted, faux-bleached, faux-IR and some here-today-gone-tomorrow styles on the agencies.

yes i admit they're not my cup of tea, but he should be a bit more specific on what he means.

Sorry for not being clear, but yes am thinking along ShadySues examples. I hate posting other ppls images, one cause i dont want to copy exactly that image and two cause i want to do more than just that kind of look, but just to try to explain a bit better, here is one:

http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-25579444-little-redhaired-sun.php?isource=EN_PHOTOFMA
- if i tried to do the sunblast, i am pretty sure i would get a rejection of burnt out details...
And again, it is not just this effect i want, it is the whole kit mentioned by shadysue!

I like the tweaked looks out there, and i have some groovy teens at home, so i can take the photos, but i get really nervous re how much to post process.
