I am a microstock contributor. I create and sell mostly vector images. Some time ago i was intensively looking for a new profitable agencies where i could upload my vector works. One day in one microstocker's blog i've found good responses about Graphicriver. I've never heard about this agency before so i didn't expect much from it, but anyway i've decided to try it. Now it's about a year when i am contributor in this site and i must say i'm really happy to be there Let me share my experience with it: http://graphicriver.net/?ref=vecart - agency that belongs to Envato group, together with photodune.net, videohive.net, themeforest.net and other sites. Advantages:Good sales - probably the biggest and main advantage of this site. For me it is strong no.2 earner. Only Shutterstock does better for me. Steady sales - different microstock agencies has different search engines. In this agency number of sales rises very significantly for several days after new works are uploaded. After that it falls down a bit but still remain good. Even if new works aren't uploaded for a long time - sales doesn't drop dramatically and remains steady. 50 USD payout minimum- small payout minumum is always advantage. Good contributor support - some time ago i had some questions about using Graphicriver, so i wrote letters to it's staff. Staff was very helpful, polite and answered quickly. Different format works - You can submit there not only vector illustrations, but also PSD works, also logos, print templates, t-shirt designs etc. Great stats displaying - i like thorough sales and referral stats and anyway contributor account is easy and comfortable to use. Disadvantages:Time-consuming file submitting process - For vectors (i don't know how for other formats) You have to prepare three different files for each design: 1) 80x80 px size JPEG thumbnail image 2) 590 px width size JPEG preview image 3) zipped file with high resolution JPEG file, vector file, and some additional formats (optional) inside. Preparing these files requires additional efforts and time. High rejection rate - i don't know how about other contributors, but i get a lot of rejections there - more than in other agencies. Most common reason for files rejection - design didn't fit Graphicriver's high quality standarts. Other features:File pricing - File price is set by Graphicriver's reviewer. It is often 2-5 USD for RF vector work zip. Sometimes this price may be different. I get 33 percent earnings per sale. This percentage also depends on how many sales contributor made overall. So i can conclude that graphicriver has it pros and cons, but anyway it is very professional agency with big potential and it is worth to try. My link:http://graphicriver.net/?ref=vecartIf some of other contributors sell works here, it would be nice to hear their opinion

Doing quite good there. I upload mostly vectors. Rare rejections, pretty good sales. It is my no. 5 earner currently. But things there are slowly getting better.

Completely best earner for me is shutterstock - about 60% of all my earnings. Overall earnings are growing every month, but quite slowly. just passed 1000 accepted images milestone at shutterstock and several other agencies, unfortunately, my most desired milestone - 1000 usd from microstock per month - is still far away 1. Shutterstock 2. Graphicriver 3. fotolia 4. vectorstock 5. dreamstime 6. depositphotos 7. 123rf 8. canstockphoto 9. graphicleftovers 10. veer 11. crestock 12. zazzle

Yeah as some mentioned sales maybe good.. BUT,
- Not crediting contributor's name.. - Paying %20
are 2 unacceptable issues..
well, yes those two issues aren't big advantages. But if sales are good there, i think it might be worth to try. I'm going to contact them for some more contributor information. I checked stats of this site - alexa rank and traffic looks quite good.

Last month I made over $100 on vectors at an agency which is not on the list (secret codeword 'Rodeo').
Thanks for sharing. I knew this agency but i didn't think it has potential. Perhaps i'm wrong. maybe it's worth to try it. P.S. Trere are lot of notes about strange name of this thread i admit - i've made a mistake there. I should have called it "Small agencies - good income" - it would be more logical;)

I knew what the 'essence' of this thread was, but I don't understand why you're asking the question, there's a poll on the right whereby a number of people have entered information that means the agencies listed in the "low earner" section are, for the high majority of the people who voted 'low earners' , but now you're asking the exact same people which of the agencies they said were low earners give them a good income - so without pointing out the obvious oxymoron none of the agencies in the poll results under "low earners" provide a good income for the majority of people here, because if they did they wouldn't be in the "low earners section"....
ok, ok i admit - the name of the topic isn't very good - sorry for my bad english,( i'm not good at it, i know ) but about the Poll results - it doesn't always reflect real potential of microstock sites. For example, some time ago i've already tried some of the "low earners" category sites - all of them were completely unsuccesful... So after that i didn't paid any attention to site called graphicriver , because it was somewhere in the bottom of the list... - i thought it would be just another waste of time there... but one day one microstocker reccomended it to me so ,i registered to this site and now it's one of my best earners. I'm sure that it doesn't matter what theme or style vectors You create - You'll be much more succesful there than in most of "low tier" or even "middle tier" agencies. http://graphicriver.net/?ref=vecartnext great earner from "low earners " category - clipartof. Take a look at this: http://www.graphicgravy.com/2011/09/vector-microstock-power-rankings-%e2%80%93-august-2011/ - unfortunately they don't accept new contributors anymore

Low is a relative term. If you only submit to two agencies, one will be higher than the other, so you will have a high earner and a low earner. But that doesn't mean that the low earner is delivering "bad" income and should be dropped.
I see there are a lot of discussions about the title of the thread, but not about essence of it We all probably upload works to most or all of biggest agencies - shutter, istock, fotolia..... The goal of this thread is to find out which of the "low earners" could be good earner. (most of them earns only cents and it is waste of time to work with them) I just wanted to note - by saying "LOW EARNER" i meant the list of the agencies which we all see at the right side of the webpage: Low Earners PhotoDune 9.1 Veer 6.4 GLStockImages 4.4 Crestock 2.3 YayMicro 1.4 Stockfresh 1.2 Cutcaster 0.8 ClipartOf Pond5 GraphicRiver DrawShop VectorStock PhotoSpin isignstock ClipDealer AllYouCanStock ScanStockPhoto Clipcanvas FeaturePics Zoonar The3dStudio photaki Pixmac MostPhotos StockPhotoMedia SuperHug ViscoImages PhotoKore RevoStock ImageVortex iRockStock PhotoCase Vivozoom Regimages

...I make a few hundred bucks per month at an agency that isn't even on that list at right (no, I'm not telling anyone which agency, don't ask)...
In one another post Helix wrote this line and i found it very suprising - it's hard to believe for me that it is possible. Currently there really lot of info about microstock, so i thought all good and profitable agencies are already well known to everyone. I wonder where did he find this goldmine Anyway, once again i've heard some good words about clipdealer - i guess it's time to try my luck there

Hello, Which of "Low earners" category (in Microstock Poll Results) sites brings best profit for You? We have quite long list there of "low earners" in the right side of webpage and probably most of these sites earns only cents for contributors... But for some contributors some of these agencies are good earners and even better then some middle tier or top tier agencies. For example, for me (i create mostly vectors) good agencies from "low earners" are graphicriver, vectorstock (about the same earnings as Dreamstime). Graphicleftovers have some sales and are getting better. Please, share Your experience: what do You mostly upload (vectors, photography, video...) and which of the low earners is best for You?

"...Oh, and one more thing about iclipart, last time I checked they don't credit illustrators on the item pages.. " - I agree with it. It looks a little bit strange and i don't really understand why they are doing it. But anyway i feel temptation to try them I didn't succeed to pass istockphoto exam and became vector contributor there - so now i am looking for an alternative for it. This is the reason why i am looking at the smaller microstock agencies now. I've heard that from the low earners there are several agencies with good potential for vector artists. several of them are: www.clipartof.com - recently i contacted them, but i was informed that they don't accept new contributors anymore www.iclipart.com - very little information and responses about it, but in some posts some microstockers told about quite good earnings there www.isignstock.com - a lot of complains from contributors about very long files review time and other disadvantages but there also are many positive responses about quite good earnings there.

Hi, Several months ago i started uploading vector images to vectorstock.com. The beggining was slow. But now it is getting better and better with earnings there. The commisions at first were 0,25 dollar for one image sale. But when i reached 500 downloads mark (bronze level) - commisions became 0,30. Sales aren't big, but stable and growing up steadily. i guess soon i will reach 50 usd/month mark there. In this blog i see mostly negative comments about this site because of small vector price, small sales... But anyway i guess it is not so bad there because i see a lot of new vector artists in vectorstock. I even noticed one of the best microstock illustrators Anja Kaiser there. How is Your experience with vectorstock.com? Are You happy with Your earnings?

Well, reading all these answers i was a little bit surprised, that travel photos aren't very popular. Maybe there could be a good idea to take photos of famous buildings and other objects and then in Photoshop make it isolated objects. Like this: http://www.shutterstock.com/gallery-78671p1.html#id=85458973I think this type of photos should be quite popular in microstocks and could help earn a little bit more money from travel photos. I guess after all we could conclude that travel photos won't make big money. But it can compensate at least part of travel expenses. And this is very good thing. Personally i am interested in travel photo not because i expect to get rich from it - it's just that i'm already bored of spending most of my time near computer (i work with computer graphics, vector illustrations). And traveling a little bit with photo camera would be a good and interesting experience

Hi, recently i've found on this blog very interesting site of one of the microstocker's - http://www.veoelmundo.com/ . In this site photographer Holger writes about how he visits many different countries of the world and during these journeys he makes photos for microstock. I think this kind of job - traveling photographer sounds absolutely awsome. Are there any other travelling microstockers? I've heard that travel photos are very succesful in microstock, but can this kind of bussiness payback - i mean all travelling expenses should be huge - plane, train tickets, hotels or hostels, food, etc. Is it possible for those photos made during these travels to earn enough to compensate all those expenses? Of course, i realize that it strongly depends from the skills of the photographer and from what countries are visited... But anyway, if You do this it would be interesting to hear something from Your experience.

to Snufkin: Thanks for the compliments to qwerty : probably You're right here. It's just i personaly like grungy style very much, so i produce a lot of images of this style to aeonf: i'm selling my works also in other agencies. But only shutterstock brings me good earnings - other agencies earnings are same as Dreamstime or worse. to digitalexpressionimages: Dark backgrounds with high contrast colors looks very impressive, so i thought it should be popular. And the statement about object collections might be good idea. Thanks for advices
