Veer / Re: Disappearing payments at Veer ?
« on: May 10, 2011, 13:23 »
Hi folks,

Thanks for the information, and PMs. We're looking into this and will get back to you as soon as possible.

With respect to the disappearing emails--we'll investigate this as well. Thomas, we unfortunately don't have any record of receiving the two prior emails you mentioned. Our Contributor Service team does respond to every email they receive, so I'm equally concerned that something seems to be preventing emails from getting through to us, as a few of you are mentioning the same problem. I have passed your PM on (and yours, zenpix) directly to Contributor Service, and we're working to get the issue resolved.

Thanks for your patience, everyone. Ryan or I will give you an update as soon as we have one.

Cheers,

Chelsey

Hi Chelsey,

Thanks

It's nice to know it's a technical problem rather than negligence.
And stumbling upon this post from November, I'm pretty sure now there's a problem in your end:
http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/172

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I don't have much trust left in the agencies.

Just for the record, my first message was sent from GMail in February and my second from another mail client a couple weeks ago. But apparently none of them made it through the journey.

Hi Thomas- I'm writing up a direct email as we speak concerning your issues, there may be some error afoot and we are researching it right now.

Hi all-

it looks like the royalty information display issue has been resolved.  It appears to have been an unforeseen side effect of some new site features we rolled out over the weekend, our apologies for the confusion this has caused.

My payment is still sitting in pending. Did anyone else get theirs yesterday?

Hi all,

the accounting department has assured me that the royalty payments will be sent out tomorrow morning.  Sorry for the delay

Veer / Re: Trying to upload first 10 - is upload down?
« on: March 21, 2011, 16:06 »
First of all - do we just upload JPGs of vectors for the first 10, or EPSs with their JPGS - but then is it 10 files in total, or 20 files?

I assumed JPGS only and it's not working.  I tried to upload them and I get an "unknown error" - and it's not uploading them.  The jpgs are saved at 12-quality level and they say 9 - is that the problem?

The files are also the correct size for both MP and MB as listed in their info.

I saw the post about it being down on 3/19 but it's 8pm already.... CST.

Hi Lola,

Whenever you upload EPS files, you will be required to send along an accompanying JPEG version as well.  These end up 'packaged' as one file and only count as a single upload.  You are able to submit images of any file type in your initial set of 10.

« on: March 21, 2011, 15:13 »
I don't know about your first question, but I got an error too when I uploaded a batch. Yesterday I couldn't get to the site at all.

We are aware of the issues with image submission following our site release over the weekend.  We should have it corrected and working properly again shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Veer / Outage on Saturday, 3/19
« on: March 17, 2011, 12:26 »
Hi everyone, just wanted to give a heads up about a planned outage this weekend:

Veer.com will be in the garage this Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 8:00am MST to 2:00pm MST while our development team takes a look under the proverbial hood.

Also, we have a new contributor-focused Facebook page, stop by if you get a chance.

57
Weve altered the vector upload workflow so that we can support offering customers a full-slate of rasterized JPEGs in addition to your .EPS vector. This was something many of you, and many of our customers, have been waiting for.
This means that your original .EPS vector file and a full suite of JPEG sizes from XS to XXL will be presented together to the customer on a single product detail page.
This is important - customers will now have the option to pick the file format and size that works best for them.

Is there an update on this? I haven't heard anything more about it or seen it implemented either.

The system has been implemented for all new uploads, or were you referring to when we would be creating JPEG versions of all previously published EPS files?
This is a manual process and it's taking a bit longer then we had hoped.  We've already converted a large portion of previously published EPS files, but it's now looking to be around mid to late February before we will have the rest of the JPEGs created and on the site available for purchase.

Veer / Re: Account balance and keywording
« on: January 05, 2011, 16:14 »
Has anyone else noticed the following:

1. My account balanced went to zero dollars at the start of the new year, I presumed I'd receive a Paypal payment but four days later I'm still waiting.

2. I've recently received a few images rejected for keywords, they were put back in my pending area where I subsequently removed some leaving only absolutly relevant words, rejected again with no explanation.

The keyword thing is making me reconsider whether it's worth uploading there, for so few sales is it worth my time individually re keywording images that had relevant keywords in the first place. Without any guidance or appeal procedure I think I'll hang back for now.

And before anybody asks yes I sent a message to support last time this happened and received no reply.

Sorry for the confusing information concerning pending payments- we are actually working on some updates for the Dashboard page that will make it much more clear, stay tuned for that.

FYI- royalty payments are always sent on or about the 15th of the month.

Concerning keywording- our editors should be leaving explanatory messages in either case, could you send me your account information (to [email protected]), so I can look into this particular situation?

Hi Brian,
I uploaded two vectors today (.eps + .jpg same filename), but the processing of the images has problems and do not terminate... ???

Hi Tilo-  When did you attempt this?  We've just tested the upload system on all browsers and it appears to be working properly at the moment.  Please try again and email [email protected] if you encounter any further troubles

Veer / Re: End of Summer Update
« on: October 04, 2010, 18:36 »
Brian, is it possible to
- not include submission bonus in royalty stats? It makes this graph absolutely unusable
- have any way to get sale statistics based on normal time periods (days/months), not weeks?

We do have some changes in the works for the Statistics page, from Brian's post above:

Site development in the works for an upcoming release:

Improvements to the contributor upload interface and statistics/royalty display.
- Clear indication of lifetime earnings vs unpaid balance
- More logical timeframe choice (no more weeks!)
- Tweaks to the upload interface to make it even better

Veer / Re: Veer sales increasing?
« on: August 26, 2010, 13:21 »
I have very bad experiences with Veer. I am getting plenty of images rejected with the reason of "Unfortunately, we cannot accept this image as it is the second time it has been submitted with poor keywords." Does anyone know what is this? I never submit an image twice so I don't know what they are talking about.
I have 450 images online and 174 rejected with reasons like this and with the reaon of similarity (they are not similars). While I have zero downloads, ZERO at all. I give it up, waste of time.

Hi Nitor,

I just sent you a personal message concerning this issue.  Please respond if you have a moment so I can look into this issue in more detail.

Veer / Re: veer - price range
« on: July 16, 2010, 12:28 »
hi all,

I notice searching through images in veer, there are images with different price range, are they different like cheaper range are RF license, and more expensive are RM licences?

I remember before veer marketplace is different from veer? is VMP before just for RF? and veer is for RM? so now since VMP is gone and veer put all kind of images together?

are we allowed to set the price range? or even upload RM license images to veer?

- All images on Veer.com are now RF, remaining RM content was removed this spring.  Price range for submissions is preset, with the higher price ranges currently reserved for existing Veer RF contracts and media partners.

Hi all- I just responded to KB's email directly, but I'll post a response here as well.

We did discover an error in the deactivation process with KB's files, which allowed them to still be accessible via Google search, or by typing in the URL address of the image page on our site.

This has since been corrected by our web team and the images are no longer visible in any way on our site.  The title of the image can still be found via Google search (thought it only brings people to a generic site page), but that should be gone as well once Google 'refreshes' the search results.

Hope that clears everything up for everyone.  The 60 day timeframe we have in our contributor agreement is mainly to cover us in the event that a customer has placed an image in their cart but has not yet purchased it at the time that the portfolio has been removed.  Our intent is in no way to try and hold images or to impede a contributor's exclusivity deal with another site.

If anyone needs to remove their contributor account, please continue to send requests to [email protected], with as much advance notice as possible, in case of unforeseen delays.

Thanks!

« on: July 06, 2010, 16:00 »

We did get a bit delayed due to the recent promotion, but we are still trying to sort out why this has happened.

If you don't mind, could you shoot a new email over to [email protected] with a link to your portfolio?  We may need to have you upload new versions of the few files affected, and we can switch them out if they are successfully uploaded with no errors present.

Veer / Re: New Veer Contributor Agreement Posted
« on: June 10, 2010, 14:19 »
What exactly does "cash purchase" mean? Are they going to allow to wire money? At least with credit cards there is some identification of buyers. Are they going to start money laundry?

This refers to buyers being able to purchase images in the same manner formerly only possible with the general Veer RF content, as opposed to only the credit system currently offered for "marketplace" images.

All buyers will of course have to enter in identifying information in order to make a purchase, we have no plans to go into the 'money laundering' business.... ;)

With the term "Marketplace" removed, how will Veer differentiate its microstock offerings from the macro images?

Or will there no longer be any differentiation?  If not, will the micro prices be going up or the macro prices be coming down?

Hi Lisa,

We actually touched upon these questions in an announcement from earlier this year:

http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/132

We will continue to have a wide variety of images from premium-priced images to value-priced images, all offered under the royalty-free licensing model.  Micro prices won't be going up, but the images themselves will be integrated into the broader Veer website

Veer / Re: Something wrong with editing??
« on: June 03, 2010, 15:23 »
Is there a glitch a bug or something with pending shots?  Ive had 17 shots sitting there waiting for editing since the 13 of May.
anybody else?

Sorry for the delay, we have had many more submissions then usual during the Dash For Cash promotion period, and we are doing our best to edit them as fast as we can, in the order that that they were submitted.

Veer / Re: how to delete files at Veer?
« on: June 02, 2010, 13:36 »
Hi,
in the begining I uploaded some JPG files, and
now I wanted to upload the EPS version and kill the JPG's....
but I can't find anywhere on that veer dashboard a place to disable files.

does anyone knows?

You just need to send a list of the SKU numbers to [email protected] and I can take care of getting the images removed.

Veer / Re: Veer Dash for Cash
« on: May 27, 2010, 18:32 »
I also started to upload again to Veer since the 5th. Thus far I have 155 images accepted and only 5 rejected. So far so good. Just now I received an e-mail: "Weekly Update: Your Veer Dash for Cash earnings so far", stating that I have 50 photos reviewed and accepted to date, which earned me $35.00 ???. Anyone else received an update with numbers that does not correspond with your actual acceptances?

We are constantly editing and approving images, so the discrepancy most likely stems from the update data having been pulled and compiled a few days before the message went out.

I'm sure that describes what happened here, but if you shoot me an email at [email protected] I'd be happy to take a look at your account to make sure.

have people checked their 'member' page lately, like today? is your entire portfolio missing? does anyone know if veer staff actually choose the four photos that appear on your member page or is it computer generated?

The Member Page displays a few of your latest submissions to the site, you aren't able to choose which ones at the moment.

It is odd that yours would suddenly disappear-shoot an email over to [email protected] and I can probably sort it out.

Oops, I can't see how I can delete something from the pending que.  It is already online.  Is this one for support?

Yes, once you've submitted an image to our editors, you'll need to email [email protected] if you need to remove the image

Veer / Re: Veer FTP Problem
« on: May 17, 2010, 17:23 »

Hi all,

we did have some issues with our FTP server after our site maintenance on Saturday, but we have located and corrected the problem.  From what I can tell via email, folks have been able to once again use the FTP system, so if you haven't tried again since encountering the error over the weekend, I encourage you to do so now.

Thanks!

Dear Contributors,

To address some network issues veer.com has been experiencing this past week, we are planning a site outage for Saturday, May 15 at 7:30am, and should be back up by 2:00pm MST.

This is especially noteworthy if you are participating in the Veer Dash for Cash, and were planning to upload images on Saturday to make the most of your weekly upload limit.

We apologize for any inconvenience the outage causes you, and hope that this heads-up gives you enough time to adjust your plans.

Your friends at Veer

Veer / Re: Veer - Dash For Cash - Inspection Time
« on: May 13, 2010, 13:40 »
Just wondering........

Has anyone with images submitted either on or after the 5th of May had them inspected as yet?

I submitted 100 on the 5th, and another 100 yesterday.   As yet, I haven't had any inspected.

Review times may go on quite a bit longer then we would like during Dash For Cash, but no worries-if they were submitted during the promotion period, and as long as they are eventually approved, you will get paid for them.
