Don't forget Ron has employees for this, so putting somebody in a spare minute at the tiresome task to upload to CrapHamlet (thanks for that Flemish;-) isn't much of an effort for him. SY

I contacted Albumo about this earlier the month and the reply was "as long as you don't cash out the upload bonus you can still delete your images" seems fair! But please contact Albumo yourselves about this, they are quick and friendly to answer questions... SY

Eh I wouldn't count the images with 51 sales as real sales *lol* I am pretty sure that are "leftovers" from testing the system, but still around 680 sales is pretty good for a site that is only a few months on line imho, SY

They lost two model releases and a batch of photos in the first big crash, then they rejected the same model releases after re-upload. The exactly same two that were previously approved and have already images attached to it! Then I waited until all seemed calm and uploaded again 50+ images and guess what happened??? They lost them in the next crash!!! I think I will take a long break and wait until they are really stable before I touch them again. No sense to waste time and bandwidth if they only loose my images in cyperspace, SY *exhausted*

Just put "" or %60%60 in the search field and hit enter, then it shows 7156 pages with 30 images each 7156*30=214k, more or less... And you can even sort by most downloaded first  ;D SY

Phil, if you really look for a new site check Albumo (referral link in my signature  ;D ) They even pay for uploading! And the site works fine, no bugs so far, SY

The 40% figure came from this interview.

Several things in this interview seem strange to me:

"Shutterstock now has 60,000 members who are all amateur photographers. " I seriously doubt that Jon would call Yuri, Andresr, Lev Dolgachov, Kirsty Pargeter etc etc etc "amateurs"

"I don't really have to do a lot of marketing because we are a subscription service." Huch???

There is a lot more stuff in this interview that doesn't sound right to me and I simply don't believe that Jon ever gave and/ or authorized it.

I am certainly not familiar with zero.newassignment but had a look around the site and it doesn't strike me as a source of information that I would trust, just my 2cents. SY

As there is no reason at all given I am pretty sure that it is a glitch! The most effective is writing friendly and without any capital letters a message in the forum>Bug/Glitches asking if that might have been a glitch/ mistake.

A "normal" rejection email gives always reasons for at least 3 of the 10 images. And, contrary to public opinion, all 10 get looked at. That has been stated over and over by ShutterStock admins in their forum. Hope that helps, SY

I have a few sales now and then and even had one EL there, but I must say even I am loosing my enthusiasm. The site is difficult to navigate and to find things is tiring, it gets more and more cluttered up and there search doesn't work very well. I keep uploading, it is easy and straightforward and the occasional sale at 70% is still nice. But I wouldn't put up any RM or higher priced images there. My images are all priced at $3.99. My 2cents, SY

New Sites - General / Re: Yet another new agency.....
« on: September 07, 2007, 17:12 »
Call me stupid, but I have done it again! I simply like new sites, so I just joined Fotomind.com Seems that this new pop-up learned something from Albumo - to pay us for uploads. They have ftp and read meta data and 75$ for 125 images are not bad. Min. pay-out is $100 so I "only" have to sell images for 25$ to reach pay-out level. SY

No, I wasn't exclusive.  (I think that was before exclusivity was even offered).  It was back in 2004 and I had just started.  I had been accepted by them and I had also joined a couple of (then) new sites.  I had not even uploaded any photos to them or participated in any forums or really anything when I got this whole slew of e-mails saying my account was closed and I was banned because I was reviewing for another site and apparently that was a horribly bad thing.  It was the first (and only :-[) time I've ever been banned from anything in my whole life.  I still don't recall seeing anything that said I shouldn't review for another site when I originally joined.  I know they've had a change in ownership since then, but they had made it pretty clear that I was unwelcome and that reviewing for another site was an egregious act.

Interesting, I heard stories about it before I joined even istock but I can't find for the life of me anything in their tos that prohibits me to do so. Anybody any newer information about that? Sorry, for kidnapping the thread Leaf,  :o SY

What about funny images, pretty extreme like: Wide angle lens stuck into a face of eating person, focus on front teeth?

What style/ sense of humour do your friends have? Close up shoots of each course to give a certain continuity for the wedding album, if you do one. Tell us more and surely we come up with something, SY

Minimum pay-out is $75, so you would have to upload more then 1000 to get an immediate pay-out, SY

I just noticed that one of my referrals had her/ his first sale at Albumo. None of the top ten microstockers nor anybody with a vast portfolio, only >100. So it seeems that sales start to trickle in at Albumo. In case you want to join in, feel free to use one of my referral links, SY
