WYSIWYG- I was the reviewer in question, to be quite open:
-Model release: The combination of people, cloths, location and boat makes them recognizable. If I would have been one of the two I could easily say: Hey, that's a picture of me! Even if you can't see the face. I agree it is a borderline case, but I prefered not to run any risks.
-Quality: I saw the picture at 100% and it WAS not up to our standard, sorry but I guess you have heard that thousands of times, but every agency has their own standards, that it is approved and sells on one site does not mean that it will be approved and sell on another site.
-Composition etc. everybody here can judge for him or herself, but nor composition nor lighting convinced me very much as a reviewer. If you are building up a collection of images, the first decision you have to make is if you go for quality or for quantity. RSI/GS has decided to go for quality. Regards SY

Hi Madelaide,
you can upload them via http upload or just burn them on cd/dvd and send them to the address on the files upload page, hope that helps SY
BTW If you are sending them from abroad please make a note on the package "no commercial value" to avoid problems at customs...

Just played around with alexa.com 's time-machine, this handy little thing allows you to see how a site looked in the past, that is what I found at http://web.archive.org/web/20070407181326/http://www.fotolia.com/ Now, that is either the biggest clean out in microstock history or Fotolia "lost" during the transition to V2 over 800 000 images Images on line 7th April 2007 2,869,750 Images on line today 1,957,503 SY

I use Photoshop, but if you type in cmyk or color space into the help of elements, I am sure you find the answer, in PS it is something like Image>Mode>CMYK. Hope that helps, SY

I like to join new sites, I give them a year and if they haven't taken off I am gone. So I joined Albumo today, my short experience so far: US based site, registration is easy, they don't ask for copies of documents etc, choice of three upload methods: web-based (5 images), java (max 150mb) and ftp (max 1GB), min requirement 800px and a max limit per image of 150mb (brilliant for some of my fractals), approval time was around 6h (love it!) and my approval ratio so far is 100% (love it even more!). They pay for uploading: 250-999 images uploaded $25 and then for each image 10cents. No categories (there are optional ones, but I ignored them), java and ftp work smoothly and fast and it reads meta data. From upload queue you have the possibility to batch edited things if you want and push all images at once into the approval queue, pretty straightforward and easy. So, tonight I will set Filezilla to work and upload my whole portfolio Here the link to my Portfolio SY

My 2c:
The shirt/sweater has a distracting pattern, it makes my eyes wandering all over the place and second, I don't know at what the boy is looking, it is not the board and for sure not the photographer... SY

What do you think about it that SS wants all photos exclusive -even the ones they rejected? I wonder if they allow you to submit the rejected pictures also to another agency after two years? SY
