By any accident can it be that you confuse MegaPixel and MegaByte??? Restricting the size to 25MB makes perfect sense to me! SY

Here my last second entry: http://www.crestock.com/blog/photography/contest2007/entry.aspx?id=4106

But after having seen all the other ones in this thread I think I don't stand a chance! But nevertheless remember you can vote for several images, just not several times for the same one! So, if you feel this image deserves a vote, I would gladly receive it  ;D SY

Hospitalera:
How do you link your picture to featurepics (or any other web site)?

Will the link at the bottom of your posts automatically sign me up as your referral if I choose to do this?

Thanks for the info.  I'm thinking about doing this...

1.Question: when you have uploaded a template go to My account>Manage Templates, click on "detail" of the template/ image you want to link, insert the url in the field "additional use purchase url", click save = DONE!

2. Question: Yes, the links should serve as a tracking cookie and accredit you automatically to my account, but you're welcome to send me a link to your mini web site when you're signed up and have 12 templates on line, I'll love to see them, SY

What do you mean with spamming? I exchanged emails with them prior to joining and let's say they where very interested that I join and keep animating me by answering questions etc. but I didn't got a spam mail from them in the sense of "please buy our products". If you want I can pm you Tim's email and you can write him about this. It seems odd to me that this happens especially as they put a lot of emphasis on their non-spamming and privacy policy, SY

I think that is the only site that still exists, I read somewhere on the SS forums that Jon said they gave up to work with the others. SY

I read them and learn from them, thanks so much. SY

Ok, they just extended their referral programme until end of June and provided me with a tracking cookie, sweet, I like people who listen to suggestions. SY

What do you think then of this site http://www.bens-world.org/fotolia.php do you want your work to be promoted here. Take your time, browse around and wait for the "lovely" pop-ups... And actually Fotolia provides the technology to retrieve their thumbnails and post it on another site, they are not the innocent victims, they just look to the other side and close their eyes of the possibility that somebody may abuse it....

;-) Attention! Contains some referral links! ;-)

Some weeks ago I was contacted by this people: printbusinesscards.com and after thinking quite a while about and asking some more questions I decided to give it a try because I noticed it might be a good possibility to promote my portfolio to other markets/ buyers. So what it is about? First of all joining is free, you then start to design templates for business cards (Stock images make great templates for business cards as we are hopefully used to design/ shoot with copy-space in mind!)and put them on line. Customers can then buy business cards with your design, but not the file itself!, from  printbusinesscards.com.
You get $5 per (first) sale/ customer, if the SAME customer comes back and buys the same card again you get nothing ;-( .
Minimum pay out is 25$. You retain the copyright and the image is non-exclusive to them, means it is an additional outlet for your work and you don't have to put up exclusive work there.

And now the interesting part, if you have min 12 templates submitted they set up a mini-site for you with links to your web site, blog or portfolio, here is mine: My Mini Site
The other great thing is that you can link each template to the original image you have with a stock agency like FeaturePics! So if somebody wants not only the business cards with your design but also the image to put it for exemple on their web page s/he can buy it from your portfolio at FeaturePics (and becomes your referral at FeaturePics also!). More sales for you! I think that is a very clever idea to promote your portfolio to other markets. I have choosen to link to FeaturePics because of the high percentage you get there of each sale and the possibility that each of YOUR images serves as a referral link for you, but you can equally link the template to an other site that allows per image sales, your own home page etc.
Only draw back for me, they dont have a decent referral programme! At least not one that uses tracking cookies, ;-( nethertheless if you invite somebody to join and forward the name to them you get $25 as soon as this person has 25 templates approved! This referral programme is only valid until the end of this month (May). So if anybody wants to join I would be very grateful if you pm me or respond to this thread as soon as you signed up. ;-) In exchange I volunteer to answer your questions, provided I know the answer! Sorry Bateleur,

I went directly to your entry willing to comment and eventually to vote for it, but as beautiful and well executed the image is I think it has not a lot to do with "Feeling Sexy" So I left no comment, rather then a negative one. I repeat IT IS A BEAUTIFUL IMAGE, perhaps it is only me who can't see the connection with the theme. Prove me wrong by winning  ;) SY

You better change your email address to something like

 hilcher (at) gmail dot com

if not you'll drown in spam very soon! Not from forum members but from nasty little programmes that crawl the web and harvest them. SY

And maybe you should rub out the quoted e-mail address in your post SY   ;)

Because even if litifeta changes the address in the original post, it'll still be there on yours for those horrid things to harvest.

(Why doesn't someone write a program that crawls the net and fries spammers computers?  ;D  Or, better still, fries the spammers themselves.)

Ooops, thanks for that just done  ::) And for your second request have a look here: http://419eater.com

My problems was/ is that there is no control at all in what context the pictures are displaid, also if THIS site looks clean, there might be somebody out there who has stockimages on the same site as porn-images (worst scenario) and then? I am not against THIS site owner, far from it, but against the system fotolia applies and that allows to display our images in what ever context! I like to choose who represents my work and who not. Just asked fotolia to close my account. Sad, it was one of the first sites I submitted to but I saw more and more negative things coming up - so it is good bye! SY

I actually contacted Chad and his reply was: I know that sites like this exist, it is allowed under the Fotolia TOS and I can't see anything negative in it for the photographer concerned. I see two negative things: 1) Nowhere on the the site is said that the images are not his nor could I find any copyright notice on the said itself, you know the usual disclaimer the content of this site and all bla bla bla is copyrighted and can't be used without bla bla bla... 2) I want to decide who represents my images and in which context, with this site I would have no problem (if he had asked), but what if he puts content up I don't agree with and my images are seen in this context? Ok, and a last thing: I would have preferred to be asked before, to have the possibility to opt in our out, rather then stumbling over it. I think I write the guy a friendly email and ask him to remove my images from his site, let's see how he reacts.... SY

Once again, thanks for confirming my suspicions.  I actually thought that you might try the old "it was a glitch" tactic.  That was a very convenient glitch for you!  I'm glad that I was able to help you find it.  You can keep the consultant's fee that I would usually charge  ;D

Sorry to jump here in but I can actually confirm the glitch, I uploaded more then my limit several times. I thought DT had given up on the upload limit and didn't question it! If you click on my DT link you can see that I am only an average contributor not one of the biggies  ;)

Hope that helps to clear things up a little bit. SY
