Yep, positive, you can vote several times, but only one time for each image and not on your own image, if anybody wants to vote on mine *hint-hint* here is the link http://www.crestock.com/blog/photography/contest2007/entry.aspx?id=1953

I voted for two so far, give me a sec and I try it out again...

Uploaded 450 images in one go, 45 approved, rest rejected, perhaps they have a 10% law  ;) SY

Same happened to me, it was quite embarrasing to get an email from FeaturePics asking politily that I submit only files without reference to other sites. Never followed it up, thanks for the link to the new uploader, highly appreciated. SY

Can we have a link?  ;D SY

Penguins (order Sphenisciformes, family Spheniscidae) are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere. SY

But before you get impressed... The definition is from my good old friend wikipedia  ;D

Wow-Wow-Wow, I made it in the pre-selection round! My chances to win the nice Leica are 1:490, not bad ;-) BUT I must admit there is some strong competion around! Anybody else still in? SY

Thanks Bateleur for the nice words, I must say it was a slap in the face as I saw the first comment. The theme is "The meaning of Life", and I would have expected everybody to respect other peoples view... Regarding the voting, I just got this email from Crestock and the list is already reduced to <1000.

"Dear Crestock Contest Contributor,

Submissions for round 1 of our photography contest are now closed, with an incredible 1700 entries.
As many contest contributors have already commented, it is highly problematic to ensure equal exposure with this number of photos entered. It is simply unrealistic to expect that most people will take time to look through even half of the submitted photos in order to cast their votes.

In consultation with our judges we have therefore found it necessary to put the entries in round 1 through a pre-voting selection process to avoid a situation which encourages various types of manipulations in order to gain added exposure for your image in the overwhelming mass of images. This in accordance with point 2 of the contest rules, which states that 'all entries must relate to the theme of the contest round', and point 18, which states that 'we reserve the right to adjust the contest proceedings if necessary to ensure a fair contest'. The theme for round 1 was particularly broad, so the selection process has favoured entries that address the theme in a creative and visually exciting manner, and will result in an edited Top Entries list of approximately 500 entries.

While some of you will be disappointed to find that you are not included on this Top Entries list, we are sure most of you will appreciate us taking this step in order to ensure the integrity of the contest.

Round 1 of the contest is now open for voting and you can also submit your photo to round 2, where the theme is 'Feeling Sexy?'

Thanks to everyone who participated in round 1 and good luck in the coming rounds of contest,
The Crestock Team "

Let's see how it goes... SY

Here my submission: http://www.crestock.com/blog/photography/contest2007/entry.aspx?id=1953 In case somebody wants to vote for it - feel welcome, but no more insulting comments please, some constructive critic instead is fine with me! SY

What I'd really like to see all the agencies do is to give me the choice of which image sizes I want to sell.  Some of my stuff has taken a long time to create and is intended for large size only; I really don't want customers to be able to download small sizes of those images, but of course they can because I have no control over the matter.  I'd like to be able to tick boxes when I upload, so that I can choose whether my image should be sold at all sizes or just sizes I select.

Then I would consider joining FeaturePics

They allow you to choose with one click if you allow re-sizing or not, and have also some other neat features. SY

Just a quick reply: I find it very valuable that site admin/ owners/ reps participate in this forum. It gives us, the contributors, the chance to see "the other site of the business". Welcome Jon, and hope you will post here for many years to come. SY

Maybe it's a sign that we need to "care" more about what and how we say things without losing the freedom to express things that are importants to each of us.

That was the most intelligent comment I have ever read! SY
