Yuri is a smart guy but his model is flawed. DNY59 at iS has it right.
i agree you, shotting models kinda wasting money...
drawing icons like Sodafish is the best way i think ^^

i think its better than 123rf, no needs for uploading and you can keep earning money from TS/StockXpert but you can not get a rare dl from 123rf even you continue uploading files to there every month >"< >:(

Thanks! Most important: no flash from the front! Even more important than that is the styling, I think. I'm sure styling is my strongest point. My lighting is even, meaning it has no additional highlights or anything that that would make a shot look more interesting. But I think it suits microstock-style. It takes a lot of time to arrange the props and style the food until it's all just right. Also, I spend a lot of time setting up shooting plans well in advance to get the most out of the ingredients, and then it's shopping and then changing round all the plans because one important ingredient is missing or not quite to my liking. Second best just won't do! Most of the food in my port was actually edible, but sometimes I just don't fancy slices of cold duck or half-done vegetables...
I'm so in love with food photography! I could go on and on and on  :D

so i guess your are the chef, shotting food is just your hobby...i dont have ingredients that much like you  ;D

Gosh! No, I don't go that far back with Fotolia...  :D
But I do still have the impression that there are many awful food pictures accepted, some from mass contributors that really spoil some of the search results. I wish they were stricter, even if it meant saying farewell to my acceptance rate.

hello Pheby:
how to prepare the lighting for those food?they look great  ;)

the acceptance of vector there is better than SS ;D

i dont think that doing micro could make you become a better photographer.Doing micro is just for the commercial purpose and its not a real photography.Commercial photography is just for the customers not for the art...thats it!! :(

"Not a real photography".  Whatever.
haha, maybe i gave the wrong definition..maybe its "commercial" photography not a real "art" photography

Sales up but i've added about 1000 images this year so who knows if the trend is up or not?

how did you add files up to 1000 in less a year there?my acceptance of IS is quite worse, less 40%,especially in recent months, every time i tried to upload files ,they rejected me,its quite frustrated  :-\

« on: September 17, 2010, 00:45 »
How are your keywords sorted?  At Fotolia you should put the main keywords at front.  The first 7 get priority.

yes,i arrange the keywords sort after passing the inspecting, but it seems like no effect for my DLS or views( 30~50 views for my files a day):-\

As the vector submitter, I thought Ft is good for acceptance and they inspected vectors very soon. But my dls are not good other than that, how do i boost my sales there?I saw many people doing very well there, how did they do?I have over 100s under 200 files on there, but got no dls day for about 2 weeks............. :-\
