Still down here in UK (contributor and buyers side)

I have had a dreadful day for sales here (UK) I had one equally awful midweek day last month
I suspect it is more to do with the manipulation of the search than the site being down.

I am happy to report that my review finally happened with a very favourable outcome.

I am on the point of emailing support again. I haven't had a review since April.

123RF / Re: Anyone get payment of April?
« on: May 17, 2016, 13:16 »
Just a matter of time usually. I received my payout on time the running total hasn't reset yet.

I closed my account there when they announced the latest exciting opportunities for us to get screwed.
I an still waiting for the money they owe me.

123RF / Re: Monthly earnings not calculated correctly
« on: May 01, 2016, 03:17 »
My sales total has not risen for a few days now. I seem to remember this happening last year and they corrected it in time for payout.

« on: April 11, 2016, 12:12 »
I emailed support with a polite inquiry after none of my images were reviewed for the whole of March.
I received a nice email reply next day and a very favorable review within a couple of days.
Try sending them a polite inquiry.

On our first trip to India we found ourselves on a busy train station with a bunch of apprehensive elderly people while the guide went to sort out the train.
At my suggestion we put all their belongings with ours and I stood watch over them making eye contact with anyone who even looked in our direction.
Amazingly enough every time I looked in their direction the potential miscreants hastily walked away.
It was some 15 minutes later that I realized why when an Indian policeman with a big stick came along the platform. I was dressed so similarly to him that I was obviously being mistaken for a police officer and he was not carrying the stick for show.
If he didn't like the look of anyone they had to move fast before he could give them a good whack with the stick.
I can imagine that there are places where being mistaken for a cop could cause no end of problems but in India it would appear that confidence, eye contact and dressing like a cop can help to avoid incidents.

I just received the confirmation email from them that they will close my account as requested.
I will have to wait for my outstanding commissions though.
I haven't been able to contact Yay yet to shut that one down.

Photography Equipment / Re: Battery charger blinking
« on: March 30, 2016, 00:25 »
I have batteries for canon 5D and 70D which both use the same charger. If your chargers work in the same way as mine they blink red/orange as they charge. The faster they blink the more charge is in the battery.
When the battery is fully charged the light should glow constantly green.
Some of the canon chargers may charge faster than others, maybe you don't have a high speed charger.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy Refunds?
« on: March 14, 2016, 15:07 »
I had one where Alamy simply couldn't get paid after, I think it was 18 months, but it shows on my account as a refund.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia - Keyword Ordering on Upload
« on: March 05, 2016, 06:27 »
Just to muddy the waters a little, I quite often get sales at Shutterstock with some of the less relevant keywords and some totally bizarre search keywords accredited at Dreamstime, which are not only not relevant but were not even included in my original keywords.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Panthermedia

Haven't tried ftp as I stopped uploading there a long time ago.
It is also one of five low earning sites I am very close to dropping altogether.

I have been getting zero days with depressing frequency over the last three or four months.

I am unable to log in to the Panthermedia contributors site. I keep getting an error message which says the site is using an unsecure protocol RC4.
Can anyone suggest a way around this please.
I am using Google Chrome.

Looks as if I will be deleting my content yet again to keep it off IS/Getty
I think that will make three.

DepositPhotos / Re: Rejection record
« on: January 16, 2016, 08:44 »
That has been happening to me a lot over the last few months. Tending to be all or nothing with reviews these days to the point where I have pretty much stopped uploading anything.

Newbie Discussion / Re: A question about flowers..
« on: January 10, 2016, 13:06 »
I doubt if you will ever get a lot of sales on real niche plants due to lack of demand but at least you should get some sales from academics and the people who do need specialist stuff that no one else shoots or has access to.
I do get sales on less popular insect species images, mostly from people with an academic interest.
Much less than commercially popular subjects but still worth doing.
One or two of my rarer animals also sell well, but they tend to be more appealing to people promoting an area.

Yaymicro / Re: YAY closing
« on: January 10, 2016, 12:57 »
Jan did eventually reply to my original email but it was more a case of trying to sell me on the 'benefits' of the new  program. There was no response to my question about being paid out if I wanted to close my account.
I am now waiting for a response to my second email.

Did you ever receive a reply to your 'cash-out' request..?
Not yet.

Same here, payments are about the most reliable thing on Shutterstock these days.
