Getty has nothing to fear from 500px! Did you ever think Getty has something to fear from 500px? It is partly funded by Visual China Group which has a long standing partnership with Getty Images that was just deepened by the Corbis deal.
Now a former Getty manager is hired by 500px to head the market.
Can't you guess already what the next exciting news will be? Let me write it for you:
"We are excited to announce a partnership with Getty Images that will allow more customers to see and buy your content. Of course you will still receive your usual 30% of the 20% Getty pays us. But you know what? We might drop the weekly upload limit, so you can give us your images faster than ever."
Sorry to disappoint, but no Getty deals on the horizon.
Kelly
But you sure know how to screw contributors dont you! Anyway I've closed my account on 500px and hope that many will follow: https://500px.com/settings (the delete my account forever is down on right) All the best with your new venture

Okay so lets sum up what just happened and is happening here with Veer: 1. Site broken/slow/no sales for months 2. VCG aka 'Getty' bought Corbis/Veer 3. Getty does not care about contributors and we all know that already (just ask Sean) 4. Veer site is completely messed up, can't upload via FTP nor through the browser (You get an error no matter how many times you try) 5. No support from their staff 6. I think that the site will close or the content will be transferred to a new Getty collection called 'whateva' 7. I'm out!

$16.8 for top tier! Ha, ha! This makes the price of that EL like what? $56.2? Besides, it has been purchased from Germany, a top tier country! Way to go and undercut my 100 credits ELs from Fotolia!
Well, tbh, you are the one who is undercutting yourself. SS has an opt-out option, so you can enjoy selling ELs on Fotolia and not worry.
The problem is that, now, with $79.99, Adobe is also undercutting my 100 credits ELs from Fotolia ... .... and they also undercut SS, since the poll shows $24.7 +/- $0.8 royalty per EL, which translates in $82.33 +/- $2.6 cost per EL (with 90% confidence)
That was my firsth thought when I read the announcement. I set my EL prices at 100 on FT yet they sell at 79.99 on AS. Its a bid dodgy from AS from my point of view.

Watched the vid and appreciate the effort put into this, but must say that this is basically another version of DeepMeta

Is this what they mean by lowering royalties? A sub on 24th which netted me a whoooooping $0.01!!

Check the dates related to the chart. I think they are for the current month by default. So a coule of zooms on the first day of the month look really good. By the end of the month the chart settles out due to more days in the calculation.
The dates are for the current month and I had a couple of zooms so I guess that explains it. Thx

Didn't you just start a thread about how terrible iStock was and how there are no sales there? No sales on istock, no sales anywhere else. Maybe move on to another hobby?
by the way, this is nat a hobby for me, this was main income source for me past years, I have almost 5000 microstock images...
and suddenly stumbled on this forum... just a banter

No offence mate but you've got to vent your frustrations somwhere else. Not happy with being exclusive or indie then do something. Come up with some good images and you'll see the difference. No matter if exclusive or not, your pics got to stand out because of the the huge competition!!!

I honestly dont know what the heck it means but my CTR on alamy just jumped to 2.04 from from a measly 0.33. Its kinda wierd because my views/zooms are just about normal and sales pretty much non existent since 2013.

They chopped off more than 120 images from my port in the last two weeks alone. That comes to a total of almost 300 ever since they've started to delete images. Third of my port is still pending cut-out and I cant be bothered to delete them 1 by 1, cut them out myself and resubmit as png's. With Lee gone missing along with any kind of support from their staff, no guidelines whatsoever of what kind of images they want, images dissapearing from ports without notice, I wont upload anymore!!!

Between those two I'd have to say D810 even though Im a Canon guy The extra pixells will do you good, not metioning the ISO and dynamic range performance over the 5d3! How about 5Ds /r?

TBH you're not gonna earn a living with that sort of images. Landscapes are so oversaturated nowadays that your work has to stand out from the rest (photoshop/lightroom) in order to sell on a day-to-day basis. Believe me I've got tons of stuff just like yours on my HD but wont bother to upload as it just does not make sense. If you want to make money from stock then start shooting something that sells like people, food and stuff that has not been shot before (niche).

Ohh well at least ist not just me. Strange that no one has reported it here. Looks like that I have to drop Lee an email if he no longer comes here. Are your files still being deleted? My port is shrinking at a rate of approx 1 image a day. The positive side is that sales are on the up and June is my BME there

Is anyone having problems with upload or am I the only one? I cannot get anything up there for more than 3 weeks now.
And what happened to Lee? His last post was on April 30th.

Hi Lee! can you tell us what is the status of vector illustration uploading on canva???
Yeah and while we are at it, then also the status on ''Pending cut-out'' . I know that you've got like tons of images to cut-out but it would be nice to know

Ft is my no.2 in terms of $ since July 2014. From Nov 2014 onwards I earned 100% more on FT than on IS even though my earnings on IS have slightly increased.

Congrats mate!! Last month when I was deciding on whether to drop them or not I had one $23.40 sale. Coincidence, well I dont know but for now I'll stick with them till the end of summer and see how it goes.

Do you mean scenelinestudios from Germany ? They make there living from Groupon deals for like 19.99 Euro per photoshoot where the customer gets 1 crappy looking image not even retouched, the rest cost extra.

Wow I didnt know about that 25 keyword thingy. Perhaps thats the reason my images dont sell as well as they used to few years back. I'll probably try with 25 keywords on new images for a few months and if it does not work out then I'll drop then by the end of summer

That light at the end of tunnel has got potential, dont know what it was shot with but it has issues such as light flare, not centered, noise, overexposed highlights and so on. I would not even bother with the rest, there're snapshots. If you do want to sell your images, you have to think about what you shoot and if will sell. Nowadays you have to come up with something very unique in order to be succesful in micro due to the vast number of image libraries already online. Learn how to use photoshop/lightroom, compare your images with the best sellers and ask yourself a honest question - are my images good enought? I did not mean to be rude, we all here had to learn the hard way in order to get better.

Honestly, I would not bother. Do not expect alot of $ as they are pretty much on the same level for me as Stockfresh/Crestock. I dont even know why I still upload to these sort of agencies. Waste of time..

been like that since I've started uploading there. You never know..

Look at the poll on the right and make your mind up. Dont bother with any of the low earners (waste of time imo) except stocksy and canva of course
