iStockPhoto.com / I can't log in to esp Getty
« on: December 06, 2018, 09:31 »
I have been logging  on to the Esp Getty site since it's inception and never have a problem signing in. I use the numeric code they gave me as a user name and a pw that is normally saved on Google. I have checked and rechecked the user name and reset the pw twice and I still get the message that the username and pw does not match their records. I was able to contact them through a link on the page reset page and they said they will respond within 10 days!!
Has anyone had this problem? Is it a site glitch? Also I think this is affecting Deep Meta, although I haven't tried to upload anything since this happened. Deep Meta is not updating and I get a message to check credentials. I updated the pw and get the same message.

iStockPhoto.com / Retroactive raise in Royalty?
« on: October 10, 2014, 15:17 »
"Hi there,
You reached the next redeemed credit level this year. Nice work!
Weve applied the new rate retroactively and added $*8.71 to your account.

Please accept our apologies for the delay."

The iStock Team

There is so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin. I haven't reached a new level. If I have I would like to know what that level it is. If it is retroactive I would like to know to what date.

Part of being an agent is being accountable to the principals (contributors or as they erroneously think, suppliers.) Something that has always been lost on them or denied by them.
This letter went out to a lot of members as evidenced in the on site thread. They claim they have people there that actually went to business school.

I hope we can get an explanation from someone a little higher up than their contributor relations spokesperson who seems to have little understanding of what is to be expected as to accountability and tends to ban those that ask too many questions.

General Stock Discussion / 500 px selling stock?
« on: August 08, 2013, 11:19 »
"the online marketplace will be developed in parallel, targeting a higher tier market than other stock photo sites like Shutterstock or Getty, with pricing ranging from around $250 to $500 per photo a market segment which Gutsol notes has no clear leader at this time"

iStockPhoto.com / Quality of inspections down
« on: July 08, 2013, 13:46 »
It seems inspectors will accept anything. But at least it is fast. I am real glad for the fast inspections, I am going through the archives now and I like to have one from a series accepted before I put up a whole batch. But I was checking recent uploads on my favorite keyword and I see they are taking anything. One guy had the same photo up with about 20 versions.  Different crops and brightness and the worst thing was the white balance bracketing. Horrible and just filling a big chunk of the page in a sort by file age. Not to single anyone person's work but I see it has been mentioned here, but no thread.  Lobo locked the thread on istock on the reasoning that people would post examples.
Pendulum has swung too far the other way. But why?

iStockPhoto.com / Uploaded limits raised to 999
« on: April 22, 2013, 16:38 »
IStock just announced that they have effectively eliminated upload limits. Upload limits never made a lot of sense to me anyway.
