Save for the 7000, a much better camera

152
Ooh another good one. Check for the native resolution of the monitor and set it for that.

Do I do this in LR ?
[/quote]

You don't. The bast way is to have a calibration module made by datacolor or one of their competitors

153
As I said above, I tried putting the card into my new PC but it still didn't look that good with Lightroom. Perhaps Raw shooter essentials displays RAW files better than Lightroom?

Did you calibrate the monitor?

Newbie Discussion / Re: Model looking for work...
« on: April 12, 2013, 19:41 »
A little while ago we had another photographer come on this site and try to advertise his e-book and lessons for a profit. We asked him to participate in the discussions and now he has seemed to have disappeared from this site.

It is not proper etiquette to come to a site as a new user and try to make money of its members. If you are willing to work on a concept with some photographers for a series of photographs and not be paid we are all listening

Very little stock photography has high fashion in it. Unless you are a absolute natural in front of the camera, you will need training either by the photographer or a experienced model.

Many years I shot fashion and beauty. Every model in the beginning of their carreers either paid or did tfp work. And many of the well known faces did test shots that were close to or were fine art. No pay was ever considered. Now everyone expects pay with little or no experience and usually they are no longer repped by a agency.

I looked at your portfolio on MM, whittle down the photographs,  just choose a one or two from every shoot. Better to have a few great  photographs than a bunch of so so photographs. What you are really missing now is a good headshot

General Stock Discussion / Re: easter weekend
« on: March 30, 2013, 22:16 »
Also remember that in the US it isn't just Easter, it is Spring Break season. Parents often take off when their kids do. Most spring breaks are over, but not everyone will be back to work yet.

In many southern California cities spring break starts this weekend

Hi guys,

I got this message to my portable harddrive all the time..-Do you want to scan and fix removable disk

it seems if you click yes, it will repair and sometimes some files will be disappear.. as I experienced it before.

if you just close the prompt and it can use as usual.

But what is the right way to deal with it? without the risk of losing any files?

If it was my drive I would backup the files and reformat the drive. I have 4 large drives and never run into that problem.

May I ask why you are giving yourself a budget of only L400. Considering that your computer is such an important tool of this profession?

Can I ask how much the Med format camera cost? I heard the new canon will be around $5,700 (Body only).

A mamiya 645 digital runs over 13k with one lens. Hasseblad many times that.

I nearly did buy that PC on Ebuyer but held back after reading terrible review after terrible review on service, postage and non refunds. Wide berth I will give. Back to drawing board  :-\

For a non computer person I always suggest a name brand computer. The problem with many clone companies is the come and go like weather.

Nikon / Re: Upgrading Nikon D200

Crop view would be what a DX camera would take, Most of the DX lenses will not fill the complete sensor and have extreme vignetting.

For a real explanation read this

Nikon / Re: Upgrading Nikon D200
« on: March 25, 2013, 08:28 »
Just like all technology, the price of digital cameras fall dramatically. I gave my D100 away since it was all but worthless. You can find a decent D90 or D7000 for not that much money and notice that the colors and noise are much better than the D200.

If you do not want to sell the D200, consider converting it to a infra-red camera

I find the whole ebook as nothing but a marketing ploy to sell future ebooks.

And after getting my first spam from this site this morning I am sure of this fact
