Symbiostock - General / Re: 101 sites
« on: September 09, 2013, 15:23 »
any of the 106 are accepting contributors work?

I'm wondering about any possible implications of representing other contributors on one of the Symbiostock sites. Technically, that would qualify as an agency.
Could some of the main microstock sites (SS, IS, DT, FT) use it to as a reason to terminate your account? (the SYM host's account with them, not the additional contributors accounts)?

Unless you have a exclusive agreement with them I doubt you would get removed. I do know I have gotten sales from the Symbiostock site on some of the agencies. Right after someone viewed photos they were purchased at a angency.

I agree with the ISO being a bit too high, but I think you should concentrate on the technique vs the photos

Just bought issue 1 and I must say I am pleasantly surprised how good it is. thanks for the referral

Symbiostock - General / Re: New User Registration Spam

I run every email address through google, many times there will be a post or page listing emails as spammers. I just delete the acct. There is really nothing we can do to stop this.

Lets all remember that the entire stock market jad recently gone down.

Don't make this SEO more complicated than necessary. Yoast will usually generate ONE main sitemap and a lot sub sitemaps. It is enough when submit just the one main sitemap because it will point the Google crawlers to the sub sitemaps.

Then add the Symbiostock image sitemap and that's it. You'll be covered with the two sitemaps to submit.

That's very helpful to me, Redneck, since I find these duplicate tools and processes confusing. Many thanks.

I'm getting close to submitting my first sitemap to Google, so now I know to send both the main Yoast one and the SYS one. Had to finish Yoastifying all the 700 images I uploaded before installing that. It was a huge amount of work, but now it's done and I've begun uploading new images and doing the SEO on them right from the start. So glad I didn't upload my whole port before discovering Yoast!

As good as the Yoast SEO is, may I suggest buying the sitemap plugin made just for symbiostock

Software / Re: CS6
« on: August 30, 2013, 21:31 »
Anyone move from CS5 to CS6 and loved something that you picked up because of the upgrade?  I'm not going to head to CC, but thought about picking up a cheap upgrade boxed from Amazon.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Dave

I made the jump from cs4 to cs6. I use LR for global adjustments and use photoshop for the capacity of layers and fine adjustments.

no errors on my end at all

Off Topic / Re: Inaccurate colors on all agencies

I doubt that could effecting your sales that much.  So many buyers have monitors that are uncalibrated, so the colors are already off.

Off Topic / Re: Even Less Photographers Jobs in future
« on: August 24, 2013, 02:55 »
I live not too far from the bh area and have personally witnessed the throngs of photographers and almost hit a few as they run accross the street or try to get a better angle. A few times I felt it would be a great way to upgrade my equipment to knock one over. I know if these idiots went after my children thay way, I would blow up to.

I have to blame the american public too,  if they stopped buying these rags, the photographs would not have any value.

I think to 2.5.9 maybe the premium version in beta

88
Have you tried putting the Global Symbiostock Search Engine into your network?

89
iStock Exclusive is holding me back  ;D

Could you not use symbiostock and Syxtra to send them to Istock to complete the sale?

90
Back to the original theme of what's holding me back... I've been thinking about it more, and it really doesn't make a lot of sense to start a whole new site just to experiment with. It's just a waste of time to commit to something that I'm really not going to commit to. It doesn't make much sense to convert my current site to a Symbio site. It doesn't look like much of a functional upgrade from what I have. And if I was going to put in that effort, I'd probably spend money/time on a custom built site that does everything I want. That seems to be the most logical 2.0 MyStockVectors (or is it 3.0?).

The only thing I really see as missing would be the community and networking. That seems to be the real value. So, I guess my question would be, what about a Symbio plugin for us outsiders? I'm not sure how that would work, but I figured it would be worth bringing up.

One point that you are missing, having other sires to network with will only increase the traffic to your site. The SEO work of others will have a direct impact on your site. As more people joing the network it can any many become just as large as some of the mid tier royalty free companies.

I am considering the X-e1 for walk about type shots, so I will look less "photographer".

92
I have never been a fan of the super zooms, in fact I still preder primes over zooms. Another drawback is the variable -stops.

Symbiostock - SEO & Marketing / Re: google deindexing images?

Have you set a new sitemap to google after your changes?

SYXtra

I would immediately contact corporate and inform them that they do not have the right to sell your image.

Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Upload doesn't work
« on: August 08, 2013, 17:44 »
I cant get rid of it: You browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support. And when I upload manually and try to process images I get this:

Error: huge EXIF data count - EXIF is probably Corrupted

Error: huge EXIF data count - EXIF is probably Corrupted

Error: huge EXIF data count - EXIF is probably Corrupted

Instead of using the built in uploader I have been using lightroom to upload my images. You could do the same with any other ftp program

The Koch Brothers commissioned one of the top deniers Richard Muller to finally prove that global warming was a hoax. After the study was done Muller said that the other scientists were wrong on their projections. That global warming is happening faster than previously thought.

Uncle Pete in your post you state that it is all for profit and you are correct, the Koch Brothers are in a for profit. They are the main funders of all the global denying crowd.
