Incredible images!

Veer / Re: Introducing the new Veer
« on: July 13, 2010, 07:51 »
Bryan, I have a question and the answer might interest many. So I don't send it by PM but I'd rather post it here.

I have quite a few images rejected just for keywords and they "need work". As they were uploaded and submitted during the Dash for Cash period, will they still count for the program when I correct the keywords and resubmit? Or will the date of the resubmit be taken (obviously out of the program period).

I was wondering the same thing.

BME at BigStock!

Unlike Lisa, my sales have not increased.  My portfolio is certainly not comparable to Lisa's but I have more images online at BS than at any other site. And, sales are slower there than at any other site.  Maybe I am a natural pessimist.  I had just expected (or hoped) for more.

From one natural pessimist to another...  It's entirely possible that my recent upturn there is just the result of a search engine change, especially if others aren't seeing it.

Sales there had been abysmal for over a year, so I probably just finally got lucky.

If its any comfort my drop in IS sales is more than eating up any gains at BigStock ;)

Lisa, Sounds like we're in the same boat.  I've also had a dramatic increase at BigStock and a drop at IS.

New Sites - General / Re: Know anything about Dreamstock?
« on: June 19, 2010, 06:43 »
There are roughly X number of images licensed in the world. Starting a new agency and selling DLs does not increase the number of images licensed in the world it only displaces some sales from somewhere else. Therefore taking less for an image on DreamerStock just diminishes the amount of money generated by picture sales which diminishes everyone's income. It's kinda simple. Best thing to do is not contribute a single image and let DS die before they a get even a sputtering of life.

Exactly!

10 cents?  Unbelievable!!!  I can't believe any contributor would sign up for this.

Been waiting since the 1st.  I like Fotolia, but their payment system leaves something to be desired.

I was about ready to give up on CanStockPhoto until the Fotosearch deal.  Those $20 sales are nice.

"Wow" is right.  With an attitude like that, I don't think you'll find many people here eager to help with your problem.  As a matter of fact, many might relish the thought of you having one.  Get a grip!

More OD sales than ever at SS.  BigStock is a little down this month after a BME last month.

I think we might now need to plan for the possibility of IS forcing participation in the PP.  I didn't think it would happen before, but now I'm not so sure.

Bigstock.com / Re: Rise of Bigstock?
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:03 »
Shutterstock is performing very well for me. Bigstock has never been a big earner, so a BME is as easy to achieve as a WME; I'm not too worried about it.

Yeap Bigstock doesn't make a big difference either way. I am a bit disappointed to find out It's just me. I was kind of hoping everybody was having a good month which would indicate a growth for the site and more consistent future sales for everyone.

It's not just you.  I'm also having a great month.  Will probably turn out to be my BME.

Hmm... 120 sales from an account that I had been trying to close. I'm not sure how I should feel about that.

You should feel worried... For all the contributors in the imaging industry, we need this site to FAIL MISERABLY. It is GETTY trying to get away with their ridiculous 20% payouts. The more you make on this site, the more you eventually lose because you made it the status quo. We need to stop this "Yes sir, may i have another" mentality.

Absolutely!!!

Bigstock.com / Re: Increase in BigStock downloads lately?
« on: March 10, 2010, 16:12 »
When this thread was started I hadn't seen any increase in sales at BigStock.

But the past week or so since the site redesign my daily sales totals have been roughly double what they were.   Have they been doing a big advertising push or something, or did I just finally get a break in the search results?

I had seen a definite increase a couple of weeks before the site redesign, but since then my sales have increased even more.  I don't know what's going on, but I hope it continues.

I like the new site, but, for me, it won't load completely on Firefox. The images are missing. It works on IE.

« on: March 06, 2010, 07:49 »
They closed on 11th Feb and all business has been transferred to IS. Why would you expect the site to be 'up'?

Because I intend to rake in the millions of Dollars earned by my images at ThinkStockPhoto via this site  ;D At least that is how I understood the plan: Opt your photos in for subscriptions at StockXpert, get them transfered to Thinkstock, collect the money at StockXpert  ???

Yes, they stated several times in the messages they sent to every member that the site will stay running for those opted in into the ThinkStock to check and transfer their earnings.

Yes.  That's what I understood also.  Maybe they think that if they shut the site down, we'll forget about the money we're owed.

Still waiting on mine too.  Supposed to have been done this week.

My sales at BigStock have picked up dramatically in the past 10 days.  They were very slow for the 3 months prior to that.

Dramatically is a big word. BigStock has been steady with a slight increase over the past few months. Sales seem to happen in bursts, though - a couple of days of dormancy, and then all of a sudden several sales per day - random images, too.

Just telling my experience.

I sure wish more people knew about this site.  We need some kind of organization.  Strength in numbers.
