Dreamstime.com / Processing problem?

I have photos labelled
Image under review
for days now.
Is it just me or is there a general glitch? Nothing going anywhere.....

iStockPhoto.com / Rejected - no resubmit
« on: March 01, 2016, 06:30 »
I've just had a couple of these for images highly topical regarding the EU UK at the moment.
It says not to resubmit. But there used to be an appeal type system - maybe the reviewer in whever-it-was didn't understand the images?
OK - it won't make me rich one way or the other. But looks like a missed opportunity for my pics....
Any thoughts?

General - Stock Video / Getting started in footage - help please
« on: January 28, 2016, 04:25 »
Ok, sales of photos are fairly stagnant. Something needs to be done. I could upload to a squillion more dodgy/small sites to get a bit more action. Or there's footage which could be worth a try.

BUT...how to begin?!!! It seems a completely foreign and confusing world.

Any advice for real starter info on settings, (cheap) software, resolutions etc for stock?

I have an OMD EM5 which I gather does this:
1,920 x 1,080 (Full HD / 1080i), 1,280 x 720 (720p), and 640 x 480 (VGA) recording
AVCHD compression at Full HD and 720p resolutions, or MotionJPEG compression at 720p or below
MOV file format for AVCHD, AVI for MotionJPEG
I understand virtually nothing of this.
Is even my camera ok?
Help much appreciated.... Google has not been my friend to date on this!

Alamy.com / Alamy and Eyeem
« on: January 19, 2016, 09:33 »
Seems Alamy is now a distribution partner for Eyeem. Any thought what this will mean in the real world for Alamy/contributors?

Shutterstock.com / 2014, 2015 compared

So how was it for you? I finished the year just $15 down on last year, despite lots of upoading, but much more erratic in terms of good and bad months.

PicNiche Toolbar / Firefox has blocked access to Picniche toolbar
« on: December 17, 2015, 03:27 »
Has anybody found a SIMPLE way to get it back, please. Although it no longer reported sales, it was very neat to have all the sites there for quick access.
Firefox sends me off looking for signatures in config and heaven knows what.... :(

Detail deleted as issue now resolved.

Maybe if it is your photo, you would like to contact him?

UPDATE: I put a comment about infringement of copyright and the photo has gone. Already.

Alamy.com / When is a photo Altered per Alamy standards
« on: October 29, 2015, 04:13 »
If in doubt I always put that images are digitally altered, even if all I have done is adjust (selectively or overall) contrast, increase saturation a bit etc but wonder if this is necessary.
Any ideas?
Obviously if I add/remove anything it needs to be put as adjusted but......
?
Thoughts welcome.

General Stock Discussion / Model releases not in English
« on: October 15, 2015, 03:40 »
Hi - has anybody any experience of sending up MRs in other languages - in my case Italian?
Are there any of the major sites here - SS DT FT IS AL in particular - maybe also 500px - that don't accept them?
Cheers.

General Stock Discussion / 500px
« on: October 14, 2015, 05:28 »
I seem to have lost the ability to see CURRENT pulse on my photos.
Is it just me?
Am I missing something obvious?
It's hardly a crisis but rather odd.

iStockPhoto.com / Property release
« on: October 04, 2015, 07:53 »
OK. I give up. I have a property release. I'd like to upload it. But I can't find out where to do this. Deepmeta links to exisitng ones (so I must have sent ones up before) but I give up. Online I see nothing useful. :(
Anybody give me a clue please? :(

I've just seen this - anybody understand it? From Rapisardi Intellectual Property:

Recently the Tribunal of Rome has established the correct interpretation for the article 2 of Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, that distinguish the concept of IP contents (i.e. photos and videos) from other contents not covered by Intellectual Property rights.
Quoting the tribunal verdict, The freedom to use contents published by users using the Public setting is strictly limited to the information and does not concern the IP content, since the users only grant Facebook a non-exclusive, transferable license
Therefore no one is free to use uploaded photographic images without the owners consent on the sole ground of being published with the Public setting.

iStockPhoto.com / Parter programme query
« on: September 19, 2015, 09:32 »
Unlikely though it sounds, I appear to have had a couple of relatively large lumps of money appear out of the PP in August. Does anybody know if there is a way I can see what photos this relates to? Just usual green colour......
Never happened before!

iStockPhoto.com / Global reach?
« on: September 07, 2015, 07:21 »
I was just having a meander around the internet and came across this for one of my photos under gettyimages.com.au:

Sorry, we are not able to license media #................ due to country, company and/or publication restrictions.

So are our images only shown.....locally? Or what? I was just a bit surprised (it was more than one image) but am also confused.

Anybody else got this? The website can't be found but she is an artist....

Shutterstock.com / Still July?
« on: August 01, 2015, 14:29 »
I'm guessing the month end isn't going totally well at SS. My balance still shows July numbers and no sign of dls since breakfast. Seems like a touch of server lag.
Or is it just me?

General Stock Discussion / 500px - I'm confused
« on: July 23, 2015, 10:43 »
Mulling new options to try for some photos. Given the microstock situation at the moment, something needs to be done! 500px though completely confuses me. Even their FAQ are unclear so I'd be grateful if somebody could confirm what I think I understand ie:

It seems you upload LARGE files to 500px but fairly small (!) thumbprints get shown. If you enable your shop, the photos automatically go on sale in 500pxPrime - not sure size of display, but diddly watermarks (sigh!)....!

Also: It seems you HAVE to use the 50px standard licence for sales. Is that RF, RM or something different again? Basically - can existing RM images go to 500px? Or just RF?

Cheers.....a few facts will help the mulling......

Payoneer / Where can I see my balance????
« on: June 26, 2015, 05:02 »
I can see payments - which are the same as transfers (what?????). But nowhere can I see how much money there actually is on the card.
Even downloading the pdf there isn't this info....
I guess I'm overlooking something really basic, but this morning it is completely outwitting me!
Please can anybody point me in the right direction?
Cheers.

Added - in case it is useful for anybody else: when you set up a transfer from, say, IS to your bank via Payoneer, it sets up a NEW Payoneer account in addition to any pre existing one.

Any views? I'd appreciate opinions from people using the Micro 4 3 system. I don't do many landscapes at the moment, but have in mind to do more so info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
