Those numbers may have been true before IS had started going south big time.
We are at ~25K for over 5K images and our photos don't suck that much :)

Fear of plagiarism.

A picture of myself in my underwear on IS  :)

iStockPhoto.com / Adding keywords in bulk
« on: December 20, 2012, 11:34 »
Let say I have a few dozen photos already on in my portfolio I wish to add a specific keyword to, is there a way to do this in bulk or must I do this one by one ?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock's Alexa Rank continues to drop
« on: December 16, 2012, 04:15 »
When people come here and start a post that is basically wishing that iStock do badly, and thus wishing that people who rely on iStock income to feed their family and pay their rent and mortgage, also do badly, some people might not look too kindly on those sort of sentiments. If income does decrease at iStock, as you wish, and people who are exclusive there, and quite possibly better and more successful than you at producing images, give up exclusivity, you may well wish for something different when their work floods onto the agencies you use and your sales start to drop.

Well said !

So far not so good for me either.  Not 0 sales, but about 50% down from the past week or two (which already wasn't good).

Maybe they increased the exclusive bias a bit more, to throw a bone to exclusives with flaming files?  It would be a sensible thing to do to appease their top sellers...

Not a "top seller" but only a large ported "mid class" exclusive here.  I can tell you that sales today not only are not appeasing they are quite depressing.

If FAA contributors can comment on how many images they have online and how many sales they get in a given timeframe, I am sure many others would find this info very usefull.

Sean you are a genius. I think IS should keep you on a retainer!

At 50K RC's I am well above my target but no chance of ever getting to the next one.

Also the higher your royalty rate at IS the more you lose.
I agree that at 25% one does not have much to lose.

2 relevant questions:

1. The higher your commision rate at IS the more you lose when you go indy.  as an exclusive what was your commision rate ?
2. Is your port fully uploaded to all of the sites you mentioned ?

Thanks for sharing you data.

I like it because it is more updated then IS's graphs and gives more details about how the income is divided between E+/GI/PP etc'
I have never used it for anything else.
For me its a cute "toy" (and I love my toys), nothing more.
I love sean's scripts to, I wouldn't pay for them though...

94
^^ So what ? I can still do most of these things with DM or excel or my head.

95
^^^ I can do all of this using DeepMeta

96
I like it but it is WAY over priced.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: income % from Partner Program
« on: November 18, 2012, 06:13 »
So if you are exclusive the partner program is crap. What a suprise.

I'm not sure.  We have about 1K photos on the PP half of which are utter crap images from our early days, I am sure once most of our port will move there the PP will bring much higher $$$.
Total photos that need to be transferred to the PP is over 2,100 images...

4% but only 1/5 of my port is on the PP.

Using it for a few month now, love it !

Actually you can even leave it on IS and sell it RM where ever you want.
You can choose to deactivate it if you wish.
IS exclusivity is for RF only.
