Shutterstock.com / Re: Warnings in SS... have you received?(like Slovenian user) do you resubmit?« on: October 06, 2011, 08:58 »
I usually remove the refused images, simply for cleaning up. I tend to edit refused files (lightins or noise...) but I don't resubmit inmediatelly, I put all rejected in a folder and I resubmit sometimes months later... not for anything special, I'm just too concentrated on the new bunches (yes I shoot a lot of bunches) that I tend to forgot refused files until I see the folder and then I resubmit. So, those resubmissions can bring me a warning?? I mean, do you keep ALL the refused files on their database?

123RF / Massive rejections on 123RF!« on: October 04, 2011, 05:58 »
Seems like since 123RF has reached top tier, massive rejections has taken control of the site
I got files rejected which are best sellers on other agencies!!! Until that sudden up of 123RF rejections were very fair, but now, they have an automatic rejection or something 5

In a better world, CS would buy SS, integrate both portfolios, fire all SS reviewers and put CS one instead bmhahahahaha

Shutterstock.com / Re: Ridiculous rejections« on: January 01, 2011, 14:15 »Hi Everybody, I perfectly understand you!! I'm almost in your shoes, recently I have been sending bucnhes of 10 pictures with only 1 or 2 accepted every time. Pictures than sell well on other agencies! I don't understand their staff. They reject all for lighting or focus problems, I also spend a lot of time on PS editing and fixing problems, removing noise, removing artifacts... I'm tired and more demotivated as the time goes by... Maybe this is the 1st agency and blahblablah, but I don't like their staff 9
CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Very good submitting system and acceptation but... no sales :(« on: December 30, 2010, 09:32 »
I have been uploading since october, 200 files and 1 sale (.30 cent)
I don't care about subscritions, all sites have subs with low prices IMHO, I just would like a bit more sales they reviewers are very reasonable and their reviewing is the lowest I've seen 10
General Stock Discussion / Re: Our digital future: Predictions for 2011 and beyond...« on: December 29, 2010, 13:58 »In the second quarter of 2011, in a joint venture Ebay and Google will buy Dreamstime for $110 million and SS/BigStock for $180 million. The DT/SS/BigStock sites will be combined into one. So contributors will only have to submit each image once, to be reviewed only once. wow!! If only it would be true someday!!!! 11
CanStockPhoto.com / Very good submitting system and acceptation but... no sales :(« on: December 29, 2010, 13:34 »
I like very much this agency because of its easy submitting system and pretty good acceptation, it's a pity I have no sales!! I don't know what's the problem, not enought pupblicity or what? I find they way much friendly than SS, I wish they could raise among big four!!

this site pisses me off! They reject bunches of very different pictures all for lighting, or all for focus. Seems like their lazy rev only choose one rejection button and then reject all bunch

Shutterstock.com / Property policies at SS, I need you expert microstockers to understand this« on: December 02, 2010, 06:31 »
Hi!
I know that most of posters in this forum are expert microstockers with years of experience... If someone can help me to understand property release policies at SS I'd be grateful! I have pictures from offices glass buildings that sells pretty well in DT, but SS keeps rejecting me for property release. There aren't logos or people on them!!! Also, pictures of cars and motorcycles, I removed ALL visible logos, what's up with them?? thank you!!! 14
Shutterstock.com / Re: Applying To SS while still exclusive« on: December 01, 2010, 09:51 »
I did that: While I was exclusive I requested for the 10 approval at SS. I was approved, then I quickly removed my pictures approved at SS and left my account empty, then requested to remove exclusivity and waited for the 30 days... then I began uploading at other sites

Shutterstock.com / Re: What's up with SS???????? rejections« on: October 12, 2010, 12:33 »I've been getting a lot of rejections lately, and SS used to accept darn near everything I submitted. However, maybe it's a coincidence, but on two occasions lately, I submitted on the weekend as apposed to a weekday and both times everything was accepted. Different reviewers who are smarter, I mean more tolerant, working on the weekends? A microstocker friend told the the opposite!! She told me that it was better to submit on week days because on weeekend there were awful reviewers!! but 16

123RF / How's this site in earnings?« on: September 21, 2010, 07:49 »

General Stock Discussion / Re: Semi new at stock, in high need for pieces of advice ;-)« on: September 10, 2010, 11:29 »
Yeah I'm conscient that DT revenue will drop drastically, since as exclusive you get 60% but as independent you get only 30% so I hope SS can compensate the loss

General Stock Discussion / Semi new at stock, in high need for pieces of advice ;-)« on: September 01, 2010, 15:32 »
Hi all!
I'm a semi new. I mean by that that Photostock world isn't new for me, but I'm looking more expert people to advice. I'm exclusive at Dreamstime agency, but I think it's time to expand and I would like to try other agencies. I don't know anything about the others, so I would be very very grateful if someone can illustrate me. I've been said that the best is Shutterstock, but that it requires to send 10 pictures and get 7 approved. What about the sales there? are they consistent? and the refusals? Istockphoto seems the second one, but no idea about them, what standards do they have? are them very though? I'm not professional, not have a great equipment, neither study, flashes or lights. I do my illumination taks with natural light at my terrace IWhat I have heard about fotolia don't like me very much and the rest: 123, bigstock, etc... seems to be lower earners. Now in my Dreamtime exclusive situation I have some privileges: 60% revenue per download, 0,20 cents per approved file, better serach engine position... If I quit exclusivity I'm sure my earnings there will drop 60 or 70% so I must try to compensate with other agencies. Pardon my big speech, but seems that this forums are full of pros and good microstockers with a lot of experience in this world and knowledge. So all advices and words will be welcome Thank you for your attention!!! 22
