Thats pretty similar to me Dan - had a very good run on Photodune but seemed to slow as I inched over the payout line. RF123 has always been a good performer for me

Shutterstock.com / Re: Another possible Reason Why Shutterstock Sales May be Off for Some Contributors« on: July 28, 2013, 08:20 »
For me sales have not grown with more images than I hoped but I don't think the experience of a few individuals over a short time tell us much

If I remember correctly commercial digitally recorded classical records came out 2-3 yrs before CDs though in those days there was lots of hype around different recording technology

I think you are right - I think digital recording came out slightly before CDs - purists would also say digital more easily enables unethical manipulation.
Sound quality is HIGHLY subjective 4634

I don't think there is a loss of quality between CD and Vinyl - although I do believe some CDs are now poorly produced for the MP3 generation.

This is the way things are going.......
The Samsung Galaxy NX Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens Black is a mirrorless Android powered camera featuring a large 20.3 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Wi-Fi and 3G/4G LTE connectivity. I'm not sure if there's a parallel but I feel MP3 sacrifices quality in favour of convenience over CD. 4636

Im sure it will open up new markets and uses in time if I knew what they were I would be a very rich person.

At least you can use a camera to the limits of its performance - cant say that about going to the shops in a Porsche!

Just got Dreamstimes circular promoting some Yuri images - will they be saying the COLLECTION rather than some individuall pics are available exclusively through them?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock Valuation Makes Me Shudder« on: July 14, 2013, 07:29 »
I believe marketing is the key from what I can see many people only know of Shutterstock and Istock. Shutterstock does well by not doing anything stupid. For most contributors pulling ports off SS would do far more harm to themselves than SS.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Incorrect Poll figures??« on: July 12, 2013, 14:10 »
The poll is a self selecting sample from a relatively small number of contributors. As someone pointed out my point is that it shows that shutterstock is likely to be better than say Dreamstime - it may not be as everyone's port and experience is different. For example 123 is very good for me and veer hopeless. Does that mean the poll is wrong?!

I think this is being overanalysed - it gives a rough indication of the relative income of sites - everyone's results will be different. It is useful for what it is.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia reviwers are bots?« on: July 08, 2013, 04:21 »
I don't know why but fotolia even seem to like my flowers and landscapes unlike others' experience. I would say they are even more inconsistent than other sites but no real pattern for me. I think when reviewers get "on a roll" they get trigger happy with the reject button.
