Thats fantastic. I have an "Individual company" Great news!
An Individual company? Can you please explain to me what that means! I am wasting my time on the SS forums and writing to Shutterstock's TaxHelp, and nobody can give me a clear answer. I have a one man business! All I do is submit work that's 100% mine! Where do I belong? In group A2 or B2? Any help is much appreciated!

Submitting Flash to Istock. Is it worth the hassle? Do Flash files sell? And how about the future? We got Silverlight now, Adobe air, other webdesigners still prefer javascript. Anybody here who is submitting Flash and would like to share some thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Oh wait, you guys mean the search engine overall, not only within that Vetta collection! Yeah now I see, the search result are pretty messed up by all those Vetta images. Now I understand why all those Vetta- exclusives have so many sales allready.

As non-exclusive, we are going to be non searchable except for those who are willing to search the bottom!
As non-exclusive, we are going to be non searchable because we aren't in it. Besides, the search result of that collection isn't working decent yet, because they added all the images in one day, and the last they added will end up higher at first.

For exclusives only? That's lame! Come on non-exclusives, let's start a vendetta-collection!

Tattoo artists already buy from microstock. As tattoos don't sell in large quantities ( until human cloning arrives), I don't see this as a big business for royalties. And of course there's a lott of scum who rather like to steal from the internet instead of paying. (no offence, I didn't say all of them)

I would keep StockXpert as cheaper site, to compete in price with FT and DT, allow exclusives to send content there (different content of what is sent to istock, obviously), and use intensively the site to attract buyers looking for exclusive content to IS. And I would close the free stockexchange site or reduce it to even more crappy content.
But no idea of what they are going to do.
Yes, that's IMO what's most likely going to happen! And that would explain this very strange statement from one of the moderators on the StockXpert forum; In the future if there are royalty changes or other changes that you feel are unfair or that you are not happy about, you can make the decision at that time to remove your images from StockXpert. Until that day comes, I invite you to continue to upload your images to the site.

......., making sure they knew of the problem since Gregor909 hadn't heard anything. Huh? What do you mean? You mean GeorgeB?

Yeah, it's great Leaf is standing up for us. But I think StockXpert owns you an explanation!

Hi George,
Do you have any idea why your account might have been closed? What is you name in StockXpert?
I have no idea. No e-mails or warnings.
Here is my page on StockXpert, still... http://www.stockxpert.com/browse_image/profile/GBurba
Looking at your portfolio.... Doesn't look like one of a thief. Great work. I would like to know the reason why they closed your account. Are you sure you didn't do something wrong?

I've never had a problem with a tripod as hand luggage or checked in, and that includes flying in and out of the States. I've also never had my hand luggage weighed either, which is just as well because it tends to weigh much more than the 7gk limit. Either way you should be fine.
Is that your hand luggage on your avatar?

it's not a case of whether it resembles an AK47. ever tried carrying on a knife? especially on flights stopping over in those countries that are high security alert? we're not talking about flying from DFW or DEN to LAX. we're talking about crossing international borders.
We ain't talking about hand luggage right?

I guess airport personnel will know the difference between a tripod and a AK-47. They'll had photographers passing through before. have a nice trip!

Yes that's not a nice word, but I was just kidding, I know that's not what you meant.

rofl, don't you wish FlemishDreams were here ! his timezone is different, that's why..
I thought he's from Belgium, then he should be awake right now! but the lull is welcoming,
And that's not a nice word in Dutch/Flemish.

I'm glad they're doing this! I'm sick and tired of competing with all those morons who trace their granny's wallpaper and sell it as their own design!
Oh and now at least we know Getty isn't getting rid of StockXpert in the near future.

Just got sitemail from StockXpert. They're about to review the entire Stockxpert collection in order to identify and remove any images that infringe on someone's intellectual property.
Now at least we know Getty isn't getting rid of StockXpert in the near future.

When will there be the button to opt out?
I remember someone saying over a month or so. (that dammn thread is too long to read now)

I'll tell you guys something, for the moment I'll wait and see how all of this IS, StockXpert is going to develop, but the first DL that pays me $0.03 as commission, I'll be pulling out all of my photos from both sites. If I needed a handout I'll go to the corner with a tin can and beg for pennies, as Lisa mention I would rather have them on my hard drive then give them away for 0.03, as far as I'm concern this would be the biggest insult a site could do to us,the people that makes them money, exclusives and nonexclusives.
It seems that Getty want to be a pimp, and I'm to old to be a prostitute.
Very well said! 3 cents is definitely an insult. I will be opting out on that as well!

That would save me a lot of time I could spend on real things. Come over to my place for barbecue and a few or more beers
That sounds great. But how will I find your place without google maps?

Must be a joke. This is total nonsense! The world economy will collapse without internet! Like they will shut down traffic. There's too much accidents, transportation, distribution of illegal drugs and other criminal activities on the roads. We'll have to shut down traffic, so everybody needs to sell their cars ( who buys them?) and travel by train or plane. Yeahhh right!

I wonder how they are going to make sure we don't have our images twice on those sites. There's no way they can automate this.
I got a feeling they are going to redirect this responsibility right back to us. What a sh*tload of work this is going to be, especially for those who have thousands of images online.

Oh boy, I sure am glad I never went exclusive to Istock!
Business is tough. They just made an early announcement on the forum, let the contributors whine and rant for a while, and eventually they just do whatever they want! I think there's nothing we can do about it. There always enough contributors who take any deal and spoil it for the rest, so we all are forced to go along or lose out on sales.
It looks like non exclusives have a better choice now, but don't forget, Getty owns us as well. I think this is just the beginning!

Why do they then accept this photo:
http://www.shutterstock.com/results.mhtml#photo_id=23246977
which in your opinion is also a copy of:
http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/index-e.html
Mark, I haven't seen your image, (the one they deleted) but when yours was similar to this one (which definitely should be deleted also IMO) then its a clear copyright violation! Tracing an existing image with only minor alterations, is copyright theft! If I where you I would go down on my knees and start begging to Shutterstock if they would please forgive the stupid mistake not reading the Submitter Terms of Service properly, and assure them it will never happen again! Hopefully they will restore your portfolio! And yes, they should delete that other one as well!
