They reject a lot of common images, that applies to me. But I never had problems with rare images. For me that is of penguins and icebergs. Of them they reject much less then for example IS. What I think is that StockXpert is looking more for unique motives while IS looks more on quality and motive is secondary.

I get about the same amount of Extended License Sales at SS as I get overall sales at LO. I do not know if it is even worth to log in at LO to optin the Extended License sales :-) However some people might do better at LO..

Yes I believe there is a lot of crap on the microstocksites. I must admit I have crap too on there. However I am willing to get rid of it and am happy when everyone does. Just donated 10 images to the Free Section. They were over a year old with no Dls...

The News about the Free Section is also very interesting and in addition:
" We will be exceeding 1,000,000 images soon and at that point we will start cleaning up the database. The first ones on this list will be images older than one year with no downloads."
Wow very interesting, that will give a bigger chance for other images, I think this is a good idea, although sometimes images receives Dls after a year..

Yes Fotolia is a bit unstable for me too regarding the income. On which German agencies are you you selling your images? I am on www.panthermedia.net. The last few month I had one sale a month with bout 20 Euro in the average.

Bateleur, you might not like exclusivity, but apparently some photographers like it. Its good for Istock, Istock has the most photographers who are exclusive that is an advantage regarding other agencies. However, I would not choose to be exclusive. But I would not say it is bad for everyone.
Istock has every right regarding exclusivity. It is a descision of the photographers. The photgraphers who decided to be exclusive to IS gave it to IS.
I cannot see any problem with that. And well if the "Exclusive Rabbits" get "killed" from IS, they still can have a life after that at DT, SS, StockXpert, 123RF, FP, BS, FT, SPM, CS and so on :-)
Out of curiosity, how fast can you gat out of the IS exclusivity deal as an photographer?

Oh, I think I misunderstood, I thought you reached 100 Dls just for one image in 74 days. I really was amazed. But 100 Dlds in 74 days is still a good accomplishment! I do not know If I reached that as fast. Now I have just over 600 in about a year at DT, but I also have much more images.
Wow, yeah I wouldnt want to go to antarctica, if I had to have my appendix removed. We had a nurse and a doctor on the ship so maybe thats why it was not necessity for us.

That was an interesting post Indigo. In my opinion Istock has too many non-exclusive Photographers, so it would not do them good to totally weed out the non-exclusives. So I think non-exclusives allways will have a chance at IS. For me the Upload-limit as an non-exclusives is not an hinderance. I never reached the limit. That is because of the time consuming upload process. So I upload just my best images, but still it is totally worthy. IS is my second best earner. But still only my second best from five main Microstock companies. I totally understand your point Indigio. I would prefer to upload only to one stocksite. It is much more confortable. But if I will be an exclusive Photographer at IS, I would earn much less. So I believe would everyone. I wish you all the best for your future at IS, however if you consider to go to the other stockagencies, here are my referal links

The lag time at DT was about 3,5 month. At IS 6 weeks, although now it looks like it takes longer at IS

Yes I think it makes me sell more. Especially with my portfolio. The Free Images are from the Arctic or Antarctica, so people might get the idea to look for Images from Antarctica or the Arctic which is the main part of my portfolio. So my sells went up during this time. More people will check your portfolio. Even if only every 100st person who looks at the Free Image will look at your portfolio you have 50 more people looking at your portfolio when you have 5000 views on the Free Image. When more people will see your images it is more likely that they get downloaded. I experienced increased sells during the time the Free Image was up on DT as well as on IS when I had there my Free Image of the week. Your DL will increase espeicially for that Image after it is not available as Free Image. I had 2 Downloads in a week from the first on DT after it was not free anymore. Before that it had only 4 Downloads over almost a year. Regards Jan Freezingpics,
Do you think that free image make you sell more? Why is it? I've discussed it with a friend and I can't see a good reason why someone would buy more just because he liked the free image, unless of course this is what he is looking for and in our portfolio he finds better images for his project.

DT Sales this month are doing well for me, but that is probably, because I had two Free Image of the day in row. One is still free, the last day, if you want to take your chance :-) The two Penguins are from me.

Yes, 123 is not really good in earning money. I am on 2$ average in a month. StockXpert is 10 times better. So for me 123 is definetly not in the Big 5. In addition I still have 5 Images pending since September.
