Adobe Stock / Re: Payment
« on: March 09, 2011, 18:42 »
I request payment on 02-21-2011 and still nothing. Almost 3 weeks by mow.
Unbelievable  how slow are sales as well payments. THE SLOWEST
Does it worth to upload new content ?

Is that your first payout reached at Fotolia?  If it is it can take 2 weeks to process.  That's about how long it took for me to receive my first payment.  I've been getting regular sales there lately so yeah it is worth it.  And I agree that it does take some time for new images to get views and sales.

No, it's not my first payout.

There is mismatch between active images and total approved files. The last 8 approved images does not show up in my port.
Is this some glitch?

Photographers Turn to Fair Trade to Beat Microstock

http://blogs.photopreneur.com/photographers-turn-to-fair-trade-to-beat-microstock

Any experience with Photographers Direct, a stock site using a sales model adapted from the Fair Trade movement. It says that the site generates  more than 1.8 million page views a month and the agency itself is taking only a 20  percent cut.

This remind me on Microsoft story. Nobody likes Microsoft but still 90% of the people are using Windows and Linux is for free.
Why??? It's the same answer for iStock?
Well , whatever small fish do the big one will double the bait($$$)
They are too big and strong to beat them. You can join them or vanish.  It's your choice.

Oh please, your saying the conversion between operating systems is the same as buying from a different stock site. Rubbish.

Read between lines

Ok. Maybe I gave bad samples. I agree.
What about this two.

Accepted

Refused

Are these two pictures similar? Well I can't find any other photo within my port
tagged with pollution apart from monitors.
Still, the second one was refused. That is what I was talking about.
The point is:
In most of the cases when iStock reject there must be reason Dreamstime reject without reason.

Anyway thank you all for your replies and your opinions.

would you prefer "artifacts"  as the rejection reason?

Actually I quite agree with you that they reject too many similars of some stuff that isn't similar at all.

Above a few - I agree w/ the reviewer - too much white space on the side of the apple

Well lead pollution photo was already accepted by iIstock as you can see.
Do you think that iStock will approve photo with artifacts. They are very strict. No way.
That's not the reason.

Dreamstime.com / Stupid Rejections
« on: February 08, 2011, 20:20 »
Well 99.9% of my rejections are "Too many photos/illustrations on the same subject or from the same series" This drive me crazy.
I can understand rejected for noise, lighting... etc but this is nonsense

This was refused

and this was accepted

Thinking to give up and delete my port if it's keep going like this. I don't see any point to submit pictures anymore unless something change.

« on: February 02, 2011, 18:31 »
Today iStock email me that they removed 15  fraud sales from my account.
All fraud sales are from December a month ago? Strange, it takes to long to find fraud sales. Not good at all!

Does anyone know what's the earnings rating of Alamy. What's your experience with them.Does it worth to upload images there. Are they in  top middle or low  tier.
I have been approved a year ago but so far didn't have much time to deal with them.

Do you notice a significant drop in sales at iStock since last week.Is it because of new search engine? or maybe it's just me. ???
What do you think?

« on: October 17, 2010, 17:55 »
Started upload week ago and already 300 files online.
I'm surprised how fast is approval time there.
Well, something is wrong with your account is it validated?
Probably it's not  e-mail support and they will fix soon.
That was my case after I e-mail them they validated  my account and approval process started immediately
