Hi Steve, thanks for the explanation.

Cheers, Chris H.

Just commenting on previous post
...is the inspection /quality requirement raised for exclusives ???
 I think is the opposite...

Ay, some of the stuff in 'latest exclusive images' on the home page I wouldn't even upload...

Although, having said that, IS seems to accept some stuff of mine that is a little marginal as well, so I should probably shut my trap! :-).

Arrrr,  So if we've got a low acceptance rate the review times go up you mean?

That sounds fair to me..

Steve, can you confirm that?

Well, my oldest lot got reviewed, and now the oldest ones un-reviewed are from the 18th, so it just looks like they're on the go-slow...

That's OK, as long as things are moving it doesn't worry me that it's slowly. :-)

I don't graph my subs vs credit sales (had never looked to see they were seperate! :-) )

But taking a quick look 'd say 20% are subs sales...

I have a small portfolio though, with ~20 sales a month...

Well, this IS strange.... One must wait a few days (so must I BTW.) and another is supposed to wait just a few hours? At the same time? Either somebody is boasting and making up the very short times... or it is a clear example of favouritism. I do not know which one I would prefer...

Ya, I think they hate me. :-).

Would seem very odd, a couple of the people who responded have similar or smaller ports on there, so it's not a 'big contributor' thing.

Might email support there, and see if I've done something silly...

Hmmm, OK, now I've got 5 images over 10 days...  Something odd is going on.

Hurro,

Not complaining, just curious as I've been out of it for six months...

What are the average review times on StockXpert that folks are seeing these days?

Cheers, Me.

IS is the most strict. SS less so.
Much less so recently if the discussions about quality on the boards is true.

I found DT, FT and SX to be embarrassingly easy.

ROFL...

I'm the other way around...  For IS and SS I'm 80% and 84% acceptance total overall (Nearer 90% recently) and SX is 49%, DT is 60%.

These stats depend 100% on your shooting style and editing/processing.

For the type of stuff I'm shooting IS and SS seem to let most through, whereas I get rejections for 'Low commercial value' on other sites...  Ironically enough the last one I got on DT sold 5 times on SS while I was waiting for that rejection on DT. :-).

cclapper and the miz are right, let it go...

I've been very quite on stock for the last six months, and just uploaded my first images since about November, to 5 sites, but nothing has changed in that time, some images get rejected, some get accepted, for the most bizzare reasons.  I might as well use a dice to pick it...

Keep on shooting...

"Evaluated Honestly"...

That question I can't answer, but what I can tell you is that the Micros have a much higher bar for technical quality than the traditional/macro agencies.

I only submit to to Micros, and on a fairly small scale to be honest, but I got my share of rejections for noise/artifacts when I started out a couple of years ago...  You just need to be picky with what you submit, and how you edit it really..

Just my 2c worth.

500-3000.

Average salary raises here are in the order of 3%-5% over the last couple of years, so it seems reasonable to me, although the folks under $500 have reason to be unhappy given the 50% hike in fees to the buyers.

Cameras / Lenses / Re: I don't get the lensbaby...
« on: May 09, 2008, 07:02 »
The reason why so many of us enjoy these things is that we're interested in photography...

You remember that?

The thing you do with the camera and light...  _Before_ the image is on your computer! :-)

I don't have a lens baby, but I do have a pinhole front for my dSLR...  which is sorta the same, and just has hard to explain to people who don't enjoy the photography bit of what we do...

I'm having random results with FTP today as well, some photos I've uploaded have appeared, others do not, just uploaded another 6, and none have appeared 15 minutes after finishing the FTP session.

Weird...

And now for something completely different.

ROFL!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry Peter, in this particular instance it would appear I'm laughing at you, but rest assured I laugh out loud at a lot of stuff on youtube.

As for the original subject of this thread, I assume we're talking about a remote scripting or variable insertion hack?    I would be very surprised if any of the larger stock sites had vulnerabilities in that area, it's web development 101.

But then again one of the major sites is running a very slack DNS setup which surprised me when I noticed it, and they continue to do so nearly 6 months after I pointed it out and one of their techs responded saying he would look into it.

Happy new year.

Happy New year from NZ...

I've had one heck of a busy and personally challenging 2007, I'm hoping that the breaks come on in 2008.. If not, time for a career change me thinks.

Cheers, Chris H.

I could buy one of my own images, do I risk getting in trouble though?

I realized the same thing after I spent 20 minutes finding the ones I got...

I don't do any design/print work, so I'll have to find something I like for the wall I suppose :D!  Although 4 credits is only enough for a 2Mp image, which isn't really good enough for a print..  Hmmm.

And no, I don't think we should discuss where they are..

ROFL....

If I close my eyes I can see a chap who took a seminar I did on photography about 15 years ago...

He was pissed off at freelancers undercutting him, and spoke with great passion about how large companies ask for free images all the time.

I think it is relevant to photography, the writers strike in the US is also relevant, as it's about people being paid fairly for I.P. Similarities can be found across all businesses that rely on creativity...

Cheers, Me.

$1450 for the 40D body?  Wanna tell me where, I've got a 40 and a 20D, but I wouldn't mind getting  second 40D at that price, and flick the 20 on...  (I'm in NZ)

« on: October 28, 2007, 05:24 »
My avatar is me, but you could probably guess that, taken about 2 years ago, for a self portrait competition at the local camera club, I use it for my avatar on a couple of sites..

And to keep things on-topic,

is my ride, it's a 1985 FJ1100 I did up as a 'project' bike in 1998.  It's got stage 3 cams, Wiseco 1250 big-bore kit, Titanium rods, Whitepower suspension, Subaru ignition.

It's  a great ride for touring, although the last couple of years it's spent more time in the garage than I'd like.  The wife and I did over 50,000k's in two years back in 00-01' going to rallies all around New Zealand on it.
