Off Topic / Re: PayPal Scam Message
« on: May 02, 2012, 05:33 »
It's also important to forward fraudulent messages like this to [email protected].  They agressively pursue these types of people and phishing web sites.  PayPal will respond with a message confirming that it is or isn't a message from them.  I've done it many times.

It is true.  The reason no one dares ask questions is because the IRS doesn't respond with answers - they respond with sanctions, fines, and jail time.  And with all of the bravado among politicians about replacing the internal revenue code with a flat tax or fair tax or whatever they want to call it, it's never gonna happen because it is the single greatest source of power that our government has.  They give billions to countries that don't even like us, they give billions more to their buddies (calling it "bailouts"), and they spend money like drunken sailors - witness the recent Government Service Agency (GSA) wild spending spree, which is nothing new.  It's not about taxing us for essential government services.  Rather, it's about socialism and wealth redistribution on a global scale.  Ultimately, it's about power and enslavement.

The way it works is that an "employer" (which has been redefined in the internal revenue code to mean something other than the generally understood definition) submits sworn testimony via IRS forms that the company is involved in a federally taxable activity and that the company paid you as an "employee" (also redefined) a "wage or salary" (redefined), which means that you were also involved in a federally taxable activity.  It is generally understood that every economic activity in America is federally taxable, but you won't find that anywhere in the actual law, which is what prompted the production of the film you referred to.  It's very complicated, but the bottom line is this... Just like only a few hundred years ago, everyone knew for certain that the sun and planets revolved around the earth, everyone knows that all economic activity in America as federally taxable.  The definition of an astronomer was "One who studies the way the sun and planets revolve around the earth."  By its very definition, you could never arrive at the truth.  That's why common words have been redefined in the internal revenue code.  Our totally corrupt federal government is fleecing and enslaving its citizens, and we're just grateful that we get to keep some of what we earn.  They accomplished it over a period of years using a process referred to as "sedition by syntax."

If you protest to your employer, you are branded a troublemaker, and you will eventually lose your job.  If you protest with the stock site owners, you'll be targeted as well, and you run the risk of having your account terminated.  As Morpheus said to Neo in "The Matrix," "Welcome to the real world."

UPDATE:  I logged in after only a minute or two.  A glitch or something, perhaps.  And the missing sale is no longer missing.  It's odd that the other sales weren't affected.  Hmmmmm.

It's the case of the mysterious disappearing sale.  It was there earlier this morning; now it's not.  Add to this the conflicting information I received about resubmitting (http://www.microstockgroup.com/123royaltyfree-com/resubmitting/), and one has to wonder what else might be askew that we don't see.  Then, of course, there's the log-in fiasco.  The first screen is the revised agreement, below which are agree and disagree buttons, which are about as useful as screen doors on a submarine because this is prior to logging in.  After logging in (having to type in the insipid captcha-type code), the same screen appears, but without the agree and disagree buttons.  It leads me to believe that the site is falling apart.

...if you don't consider it worth while to UL to DT, then it sure as hell isn't to UL to the "lesser" agencies ;)

It would appear that DT is becoming one of those "lesser" agencies.  I've had a total of two sales there this month.   :-\

No problems here.  Everything is matching up.

I began uploading to the site in June of 2010, and I've had three sales.  I think it's safe to say that because the site is unmoderated, buyers don't take it seriously.

They'll go back into the pending queue. We figured when you reupload:
1. More space is wasted
2. Your time is wasted
3. Frustration increases on both sides.

If it doesn't go back to the pending queue, let me know :)

Alex.

I just received the following message:

Dear Carl,

Thank you for your email.

We would need you to re-upload your images that were rejected previously with the appropriate attachment.
We would re-evaluate your images once we have receive them.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Frank
Best regards, always!

Thanks, Alex.  No, they did not go back into the pending que as far as I can tell.  That's why I'm asking.

So I somehow neglected to attach model releases to some photos, which were rejected because of it.  (I think it must have been a system error.)  I attached the releases to the rejected photos.  My question is whether or not the rejected photos will be placed back in the que, or must I reupload them?

I uploaded a batch yesterday that still hasn't processed.  It seems that processing and sales have both come to a halt.   ???

Same here.  I had my BME last month on SS, but this month is off to a slow start.

If they don't fix the search, I don't care what levels they make the images, it won't make any difference to me :)

Tangie indicated things will be back to normal by the end of the week.  I haven't had an image downloaded on DT since March 28th and I'm $3.39 from payout.  It's killing me...

I have the same sort of situation.  Coincidence?  Conspiracy?  An alien plot???   :o

Nonsense like this is what keeps SS on top.   :P

Soon after I criticized IS in a forum post, they decided that they didn't want any more of my work, and they sent an email to me telling me just that.  I probably would have stopped uploading to them anyway.  They didn't delete the material that I had, though.  It continues to sell, and I'll make payout about every three months.

WOW!  :o
Any more details on that. They really stopped accepting uploads from you for a forum post?

They didn't say, "Hey, you posted something on the forum that we don't like, so we're revoking your uploading priviledges."  The message came soon after the forum post telling me that they didn't like what I had been uploading [even though it was being inspected and approved], and that they would no longer accept any of my material.  Maybe it was just coincidental.  Maybe the two events are completely unrelated.  And maybe two plus two really doesn't equal four.   :P

I had the same experience back when I used to upload to IS.

Interesting observation.  My top seller on SS isn't the best seller on any other site, and it appears that each site has a different top seller for me.  Recently, there's one particular model I work width whose photos are selling on all of the sites in the last few days.  I think we might make ourselves crazy trying to figure out what the sites and the buyers are doing and trying to identify trends.  By the time we identify trends, they've already run their course and another has begun.  Your mileage, of course, may vary.   8)

I wonder if this is why sales have essentially come to a halt for me.

A raw image is only the foundation upon which to build a retail-ready product.

I, too, had a few sales in the beginning and nothing since.  I hope AYCS is a success because they've been very pleasant to deal with and I like their business model and the web site design.  (OK, I'll admit that the model release functionality could be brought into the 21st century.)

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Review Times Question
« on: March 28, 2012, 08:31 »
My experience is inexplicably different.  I'm accustomed to long review times and slow sales on FT.  I uploaded images eight days ago that are still in the que.  Additionally, without a bulk edit capability, it's a PITA to upload.  FT is low priority for me.

I could never figure it out, so on the rare occasion that I'm in the mood to duplicate my efforts and waste valuable time, I just delete it and upload it again.

I stopped uploading to BS about a year ago, give or take, because the rejection rate was too high.  They were even rejecting stuff that sells on SS.  A few weeks ago, I decided to see if anything had changed, and they accepted 100% of a small submission, so I began uploading again, and my rejection rate was pretty low.  But I've been stuck at $6.00 in sales for months.  My current BS portfolio is 492 pics.   :-\
