Somebody took my picture of a dog sitting on grass (nothing else in the shot) - took out the word "dog" (ok??)
and replaced it with "mixed breed"

The dog is one of those Chihauhau/Pomeranian crosses.  What if you don't know what kind of dog you want?

Search dog and see what comes up.

once again, allow me to make an educated guess, PenelopeB  ;)
i think the reviewer found dog to be too general.

i did lots of spamming in my early days, and still find that all i got was lots of views no sales. but the ones i went back in to edit to 7 or 8 keywords, now are recording sales with numbers like these:
2 sales, 5 views.  1 sale 2 views. 1 sub, 2 sales , 7 views.

Are you saying that calling a dog a dog is spamming????  So I could not call a woman a woman, or a tree a tree?

Ok... i'm done here - bye bye!

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Anyone know anything about batteries?
« on: July 08, 2008, 13:29 »
Someone told me in an electronics store in Florida that there are "fakies" about in the Nikon camera batteries knockoffs.

They show the three strips at the bottom, but actually only two work, so they work in the D70 for example but not the new/bigger Nikons.

Could be an urban legend?

What if its a family photo that your parents took, you inherited the rights to it but your brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles are still alive - I would imagine you need a model release for those that are still alive? What about the aunts and uncles if they are deceased? Do you need to get a model release from your cousins if they inherited their parents estates?

Like, how complicated does this get???

Every time I try log in, it tells me that my username and/or password are invalid.

Tried re-booting and everything... Whats up with this?

(and no... my cap lock is not on)

Looking through the lens and clicking is capturing a specific moment that is gone. Each one, whether it is perfect or not (or stock or not), will some day be looked upon by eyes that can never see that second again. Its a chronological history of our generation.

I wonder, at the rate we are capturing "everything"... will we ever capture it all?

Is it possible?

Yes, I love it.

You got a program from "ANAS" ?

No wonder it wasn't pretty!

Oh - sorry, I'm having a dyslectic moment.

Mine is a photo of my little mini weiner who passed away suddenly at 6 years old in February of Cancer.

:'(  She was my sweet girl.

I've got an amvona heavy duty background stand, a white and a black muslin sheet, two alien bees (only 400w - should have got at least the 600w) no softbox, but the bees came with a shoot through umbrella which works well. I am happy for the money.

The only thing I regret was not getting the 600 watt bees.

Do you have a link to their website so we can check to see if any of ours are there as well?  If we all put pressure on them and SS, maybe this will speed up the process.

Thanks for the complement Pixart.

This was taken at Sibbalds Point Provincial Park on the south shore of Lake Simcoe near Sutton (about 5 minutes from my house) It is awesome and depending on weather happens almost every year in April. The Ice is so powerful it pushes huge rocks onto the top which hang in the air on ice. The beach is a small pebble stone beach, which is why the ice is so clean. I attempted this shot a few years ago, but I only had a point and shoot.

Old one:  http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=20063

So I went back this spring to try nail the same shot with my D300. Hence the snappyness.

I would love to be there to listen to it happen. It pushes 30 feet up onto the shore in spots.

I experienced your Red River incident when I was a teen on the Burnt River near Fenelon Falls Ontario - Indeed Creepy!

I meant that as a joke... that the other two thirds of commission for each sale I make goes to promote the agencies advertising.

142
I pay dearly to have each site promote my portfolio by giving up most of the commission on each sale.  heheh.

Feb 2005 - The day I graduated from Humber College (Digital print and Web) at the age of 50 I landed my current job as a Graphic Designer. The boss told me to get a "free" picture from SXC for a flyer - started uploading there, went from free to pay via StockXpert and the rest is history.

I don't think so. Maybe a sepia is just a sepia , but any sepia is not even near to a properly  toned image and there are people out there there who mastered that part of photography working for hours even days on their images trying every possible solution for the final work.

And I'm sure that if they give the originals to designers,  most of them wouldn't came up to a solution thats even similar to the artist work.

"a sepia is just a sepia"

What I meant was that once sepia-ed and saved as a jpg, you can't convert it back to colour, unless you have the original. As a designer, I would rather buy a colour photo and do it myself so I still have two choices. Thats all.  I love sepia, but to me its more of an art form.

I've have one at iStock but its only had one download. Its kinda strange though

http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/object/4264253_sepia_shoes.php?id=4264253

and one at dreamstime with low downloads too

http://www.dreamstime.com/sepia-tea-room-image996043

I think most designers can do a sepia on any color shot, but a sepia is just a sepia.

Penny
