Shutterstock.com / Video Prices are Crazy
« on: December 14, 2022, 07:07 »
Video prices are crazy on SS this morning.  Guess it's a bug, but it'd be nice to get a few sales at this level...

Shutterstock.com / SS Being Sneaky?
« on: March 21, 2022, 08:59 »
I'm a contributor, not a buyer of stock.  I do occasionally take a look at a media clip of mine on the customer-facing front end just to see how it looks.

And on more than on occasion, I saw a clip or two in my shopping cart.  I never add anything to my cart (I don't even have a "customer" account, so I'm not even logged in).  And usually, these cart items are media elements I never even looked at.

I empty my cart, and days later, there are new items back in there.

Anyone else notice this?  Is this some SS plan to sneak some additional items into carts to make more sales?

Shutterstock.com / Video Thief on Shutterstock

Take a look at this "artist" on Shutterstock for your videos.  I caught at least three of my exact video clips in his portfolio.

I reported it via https://www.shutterstock.com/terms/dmca-notice

iStockPhoto.com / Did iStock Just Reveal Overall Monthly Payments?
« on: February 21, 2019, 14:43 »
Looking at my remittance email I just got, I noticed some data on the bottom.  At first, I assumed it was related to my overall payments from iStock over the years.  But when I looked closer, I noticed the total was over 5.6 million (I assume dollars) -- and that's not all mine.

Do you think that's how much money they're paying everyone this pay period?  Was this information on previous payment emails and I just never noticed it?

Adobe Stock / Extended Licenses?
« on: January 09, 2019, 10:21 »
I just got a video sale where I netted $172.41.  I never had a commission that high on AS.  Usually they're more in the $28-$70 range.

Did Adobe Stock start pushing some sort of extended licensing for videos, or have they always sold these and this is just my first one?

Either way, I'm happy.
