Yes JoAnns way is correct but its a lot easier for you to shoot in Raw from now on, most converters do have the CA tool. Alternativly use Jo Anns recommendations.

That about the commission is not true. It takes almost two months to pay out. Cut off is the 15th.

Quote
Checks and PayPal payments are issued on the 15th of each month for all sales completed before the 15th of the the previous month.   For example, on 01/15, you will be paid for all of your unpaid orders that shipped before 12/15

Hi! You seem very familiar with the FAA. What puzzels me is this: it says original prints, etc. contact the artist. However I would rather see that the FAA did all the prints, dealings, etc. Is there a way to do this?

Seriously! has it gone that far?  that some egg heads really thought I was serious. I strongly suggest you get another job or in most cases another weekend hobby. just the fact some are even bothering with minus votes speak for itself. Fruitcakes in search of brains. ::) ::)

I think it would help your standing in this forum if you replied to people seeking assistance with some assistance rather than smart-arsed comments.

Member since 2012 hey?  yeah it shows. Bother yourself to go through some old threads and posts and you will find out. Try and do some work instead.

Dear Mr ClaridgeJ, as is so often the case, I fail to see the point of your post.

Sigh!  end of conversation.

Slightly OT, reading customer reactions to the cash payment option is very enlightening.  That should either be scrapped, or they should make the credits worth $1 and lower the prices so that there is less sticker shock.
It's even more of a shock in the UK, where you see the even-more-hiked-up prices then if you decide to follow on anyway, you then get the VAT added on.
We're used to seeing prices quoted including VAT, (or at the very least, the base price and the total price including VAT, on mainly B2B sites which might have some 'consumer' customers also) so that looks like a scam, even though it technically isn't. (The actual scam is in the hike over US$).

I can't see the prices in pounds from the US, but looking at current exchange rates, $7 to $48 should be about 4.40 - 30 pounds. What are the current UK prices?

One of the things I  notice is that whereas I used to see a lot of overnight (my time; pacific time zone) sales from all the big agencies I no longer see that at iStock although I still do at SS (where about 60% of my sales are from outside the US). Perhaps the currency schemes Getty has been trying to make money on is another discouraging factor for non-US buyers?

Strange that. I see the opposite sales from IS overnight but very little from SS, my nightime that is. It used to be the complete opposite and by a longshot.

all new artists are free to drop a donation at my Paypal ;D

You aint gonna believe this!  just had a sale!  and I havent been there 2 minutes. Now whats your PP adress?

I agree 100%, thats it, what ppl want to hang on their walls, etc and thats a far cry from our micros indeed.

I am joking come on, enjoy your sale!

Oh Luis I was joking as well!  still though how are you doing at FAA? I mean is it worth it?

not worth but I think they (FAA) have a lot of potential, I believe the 25 free slots ain't helping much too, still thinking what should fit better there, I think the key to success is uploading pictures that people want very badly to hang on their houses, offices or restaurants (not exactly the most stuff created for microstock)

There is no doubt in my mind that the entire stock industry is on a down or rather after have been on a micro hype, its just settling down to shall we say normal.
The only area where I see an increase both in sales and price, is in the RM and thats probably down to old buyers, creative buyers, type ad-agencies etc who pretty much always buy RM. This is me, cant vouch for anybody else.

NO!

First you have to forward your educational merits. i.e. that you are a qualified photographer, not just another photo-bum. secondly: Mr Oringer wants to know his photographers so a trip to NY, is ofcourse a must.
Thirdly: sign a written statement:  never to complain about revenues or the search engine.

good luck and all the best.  :)

I haven't had much problem uploading - and I got another $54 there yesterday.

Its working now ok. Must say it looks rather exclusive once the images springs up. I hear your doing quite well there?  I can see your terrific santorini images selling well?

best.

Has anyone found a more efficent way of uploading photos to FAA besides the "5 uploads at a time" ?
Nope, and its dodgy as heck, I need to reupload 60% of my photos because of that dodgy HTML upload.

True!  they need to do something about their uploading precidure,  its a total joke. However, I have made more then 15K during 2012 there so its not a bad place. Arty-farty, yes but not a bad place.

Is that your port?

I was being ironic actually ( sorry if you didnt get it)  you cant even upload to the stupid place! so full of glitches its unbelieavable.

very good.
You went from Bullocks to very good. I am confused. Is Skillfeed a bad idea or very good.?

I went from bullocks to very good because I suddenly realized that the bullocks was in fact very good. Try and work that one out?

Heck! thats a pleasant surprise indeed. :D

I think you're reading him incorrectly.  He wasn't justifying his actions, he was trying to clear up your misconception.

I appreciate that and thats very kind of Tyler to do so. There was however never any misconception on my part. Its nort important anyway. so lets just leave it. :)

Quit agencies that can not produce min. 500 bucks per month. waste of time, effort and whiskey.

Notice how all the smaller agencies have begun to follow the big boys?  ages before reviewing, piss-poor communication, sort-order changes, etc, etc.
No sir!  not this dude.

I suspect some of you know that this person is a ......well, instigator.

Why mantis, been here far longer then you mate. If thats my opinion, respect it please as I respect yours. We learnt that moral in school didnt we.

btw. The days are over when you, Poncke, Batman, Milintz. This quartet so to speak join up and get fellow members banned for a week or two. You are being monitored.

Just as a note, on your ban - since you've mentioned it 2x in 2 different threads.  Nobody reported you or complained.  You were banned simply because you made too many over the top rude responses on too many occasions.

Thanks. Thats always handy to know. Although I dont understand why?  you feel the need to come on and justify your actions? as it happens I am far from alone in my assumptions. never mind its all water under the bridge now. End of story.

all the best. :)

Last shot. I am giving it a last try, uploading some 20 files just to see where in the search they will end up? its going to be interesting actually.
I am not being akward or anything, just that I am so deep involved in commissioned work, RM-stock, etc. I just havent got the time nor the energy to fool around with sites that cant produce.
Wouldnt mind if it was generic run of the mill shots but most of my stuff is bloody hard to come by, releases and everything, so you know, lets hope for the best.
