Maybe you can try unchecking, then wait for a few minutes, and then recheck them? It's a little trick that can sometimes help with issues like this.

ProRes is so much better, especially as a delivery codec.

What is this lawsuit about, in non-legalese?

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Contributor Site now live!
« on: September 26, 2016, 05:36 »
Hi Mat,

Great stuff!

I have two suggestions:
- automatic payout at the end of the month
- some kind of discount for Creative Cloud subscription for contributors ;-)

Nice to see an actual person from Adobe/Fotolia here.

August was my best month this year, September probably second best. Not much new stuff, can't put my finger on it.

I found this on pixers.nl:

New Sites - General / Re: Clipdealer - any experiences?
« on: September 01, 2016, 04:22 »
I deleted my portfolio there a year ago, it just wasn't selling. Took me a few weeks and a number of mails to get them to close up and pay out what they owed me..

I do that to! I even do videoclips in After Effects. Nuts, but frame accurate!

And 1 frame per year...  ;)
Well with 15+ years of AE experience I know a few tricks to speed things up. But yeah, it's slooooooow.  ;D

I edit in After Effects. You're not really supposed to do that, but I'm weird.

Never fade, let the buyer do this if he wants to. Loops are nice if you can make them exactly seamless.

It's funny how some day you begin to choose new clothes for yourself without any inscriptions... :)

And tax-deductible!  ;)
Nice videos.

photographers are like deer staring in headlights, 70 f*cking grand and people dont even take action, nothing, youd think that for 70 thousand dollar it wont be hard to find a lawyer who would take this on
This is why we can't have nice royalties.

I'm wondering, what's your source for the maps? I assume you're not measuring out all the roads, houses, parks, rivers and such.

It's a low seller, but sells enough to be worth it.
low relative to what? seems to me they are near the top for many

For video it's a low seller.

What is wrong with the business concept of SS IS FT? Additional you would keep all earnings. Isn`t this you all complain about every day.
Yes.

Never said you need to spend any cent for marketing. Millions? Who is talking about millions of dollars? Welcome to 2016. So many ways starting with social media to attract customers.
You think you can do social media better than the big boys? And SEO as well?

If we would have a contributor made agency this would be a nice way to attract many people. Who is buying your images? Yes people working in marketing/ design. If you offer them the same content and let them know we are "fair trade for contributors" we made the first good point. The customers are mostly design related people too.
Who is providing the people working in marketing and design with monthly budgets and/or subscription? People who don't care about fairtrade, that's who.

Community based content is the most favorite one. Asked for your wishes and ideas not for you money or time. So blabla. Iam bored already.  ;) I will come back with a ready-to-go solution maybe in a half year. Mabye more/ other people are ready to join then.  :) Thank you and good night  ;)
Well it seems that our ideas are not welcome. My points are valid and deserve thought, since you asked for them. Yes I wish things were better and I wish this could work. You seem to attack people for not wanting this enough, but just the wanting isn't going to make this happen. It needs to make sense from a business point of view.
I think there are better ways in which we can bundle our strengths. If many thousands of contributors unite, for sure we can force the big guys into giving us much better royalties. Or maybe we can convince Vimeo to start selling stock, they have a payment system in place already. There could be other ideas worth pursuing more than this half baked and unrealistic plan.

144
My prediction is microstock will always be a money maker for the agencies themselves, but will slowly but surely become less and less profitable for the contributor, and the contributors who have their game on will migrate to the midstock and macro stock sites.

In order for the agencies to stay profitable they will need suppliers. If they don't nurture the suppliers, they will eventually be left with a library of dated, sub-standard images. If they want to remain in the game, they need to start taking a longer view to protect their position.

True, but how long will it take to get to that point where things get stale? Doesn't seem like we're even close. At what point do contributors as a whole stop submitting because it just isn't worth it? As it is now things seem to keep getting worse for contributors but SS is reporting record library growth.

Contributors will stop submitting when it isn't worth it. Simple economic rules will have stock agencies aiming for that sweet spot of high income and low payout.

Pond5 / Re: P5 Exclusives
« on: July 14, 2016, 11:15 »
I'm interested, why do you make some clips exclusive?

I do have access to the form, Google Docs. They send me the link in an email, exposing 75 email addresses from other contributors in the CC... They don't know their cc from the bcc.  8)

Here is the offer you can't refuse!  ;)

_____________________________________________

Dear Contributor,

Thank you for your interest in the Pond5 Exclusives Collection!

We are looking to build a collection of fresh, high-quality content that is unique to Pond5.

Do you currently have any content in your portfolio that is only available at Pond5?  This content can be considered for inclusion in our Exclusives Collection.

Clips included in the Pond5 Exclusives Collection will be marked Exclusive and will be searchable with a new Exclusive filter that will help buyers locate these unique clips.  In addition, some content will be featured in curated collections on our Exclusives Landing Page.

To be clear, any media opted in and accepted would be exclusive on a per-clip basis.  We are not asking for artist exclusivity.

If you are interested, please complete the following form.  A member of our Content Team will be in touch to explore the opportunity in more detail.

So, exclusive clips will be marked "Exclusive", searchable with a new Exclusive filter (customer will care because?) And some content will be featured in curated collections.
Yawn.

Well, regardless of what you do, congrats.  That means you have some cool video work.

Thanks Mantis but I actually thought everyone would get this mail, the wording seems rather general.

Yeah it makes no sense, P5 sales represent just a small part from my stock income. Even 100% royalties wouldn't make me consider exclusivity.
Maybe if they are prepared to guarantee a certain income. Which wouldn't make sense for them because they don't have the traffic for that.
