Yup.  I pulled out all my video clips from SS too.  I hope my competitors will do the same.

Dissolve / Re: Dissolve lowering price on my footage
« on: March 08, 2018, 16:57 »
You should GTFO of Dissolve.  They don't respect contributors.  I and many others got out a few years ago.
Why? Its my third best agency for income, almost tied on second place with P5. YMMV. The people that work there are actually very friendly. You sound quite bitter.

Do you have a question? I dont get it. Is this to draw us to your blog or something?

I'm not updating Premiere or After Effects. Agencies should really get together and have a workflow for PC users who are probably the majority of their contributors. Is h.264 maximum quality as good as PJPEG? I have never seen this as the case while transcoding.

They both suck. PhotoJPEG has banding issues with gradients.
h264 throws out so much data which only becomes apparent if your client wants to do color grading or vfx/compositing. Even at max quality because 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. In short, it's a great delivery codec, but it's not a great editing codec.

Someone will probably buy the rights altogether and put the entire collection on the big stocksites.

I closed my account because of the lack of sales, and they wouldn't payout my earning as they were below threshold. So petty, but it did make me extra confident that it was the right decision to leave.

General - Stock Video / Re: Any ClipDealer contributors out there?
« on: February 16, 2018, 05:24 »
I've been a contributor there, sold a few HD video files every now and then. After a long period of selling nothing I closed my account. Took me a few tries over a few weeks to get them to actually close it. But they always paid me, even when I closed it and the money was below threshold (in contrast to the #@$@ at CanStockPhoto..)

Workaround: buy a second hand Mac, use Automator (included in MacOS) to make a workflow that watches a network folder, have it transcode whatever you put there into ProRes.

Are you guys opting in? 60% from $19 seems awfully low.

I'm not doing it, got the same email. Pretty soon their own library is filled and nobody will buy our regular clips anymore..

Wow, I'm trying to update, now Adobe Sign tells me to disable the blocking of 3rd party cookies.  :o

(normally you should only allow cookies from currect website)

ProRes should support up to 8k but it's dumb as hell to limit a codec to a certain resolution or framerate. Also codec development seems to be limited to delivery codecs such as H265 and not intermediate codecs..
Someone, please build a future proof videocontainer around OpenEXR. Or something else that can support floating point values for HDR and basically limitless resolutions.

PhotoJPEG, nuke it from orbit!
There are several ProRes encoders for Windows, but I haven't tried them. Apple should make it available for Windows. Or Adobe should make an open codec, like they did with DNG for RAW photos.

checked

popular images...images with zero sales...all my best performers are gone from popular....i smells something very bad...not a case i have 10 dl only today....

every time they changes and screw something i'm f..u up....

note: best match has the images who once were under the popular tab in the same order....

Here too! Images with 0 downloads are on the top Popular page :S

That would explain why I sold 3 clips in a row that had no sales before.

So if it's almost the end of the month, and you reached your cap, people can't buy your footage anymore?
Are your files moved a few pages down in the search results? Or do they disappear completely?
Have you tried buying your own footage at the end of the month, to see what happens?

From my point of view, this cap does not exist.

44
Ive had a sale and refund today..

**i even wrote comment where it was possible - steal this book, it's great one - i know it's great -because i'm an author :) :) :)

It could be the best statistic program, so, I spent some time helping with bugs and problems... got nothing in return, but too high subscription price. I'm out too.
Same here, been involved with the beta, offering bug reports and ideas.
I'll pay 30 for this, fixed price. I _hate_ subscription software.

I do wish the devs good luck, I hope it all works out.

General - Stock Video / Re: What does timelapse do to shutters

1 hour of timelapse footage (@30 fps) means 108000 shots! So it is definitely an issue.

Do we have to have this discussion every few months? One of the many previous threads should be stickied (if possible) there is a lot of good information in them.
