I don't use Stock Submitter, but I'm almost positive Fotolia requires you to put in two categories.

General - Top Sites / Re: Is DT still one of the Big 4?
« on: December 22, 2014, 09:46 »
DT has never been top 4 for me.

It is currently #8 for with 2% of total earnings with 2000 images.

I know there are currently long delays but I uploaded my entire portfolio at the end of September and beginning of October and over 90% of it is still pending.  I uploaded a couple of batches 2 or 3 weeks ago and they have already been approved.

Reviewing doesn't seem to be first in first out so how does it work?

Shutterstock.com / Re: HUGE UPTICK ON SALES
« on: December 01, 2014, 07:46 »
At the top of the "Earnings Summary" page there are links to By Month, 25-A-Day, Enhanced, etc...

Those will list how much money and how many sales each image has made under each different license.

Sub royalties can very.  I sometimes get them for $0.626.

I make 2/3 or more of my money from PP.

I only seem to get subs there but for the rest of you it seems like they are reporting the sale price as opposed to your commission.

Oddly, about a week or so ago I was getting acceptance emails for pictures accepted back in June and July.

Also, I requested payout a couple days ago the email they sent me confirming the payout was partly in English and partly in what appears to be Russian.

They are obviously having problems with their emails.  They should inform their support staff so they can actually give helpful responses.

Wasn't IS exclusive over 300 not too long ago?  I'm almost positive it was around 340 at the beginning of the year, but I could be wrong.

If someone dropped exclusivity back when the poll numbers were a lot higher then it would be very difficult for them to get back to their previous level.  And if someone has dropped exclusivity recently after the poll number for exclusives has come down then it would still take a long to upload everything and get it selling again.

How does this change affect RCs?

Before the change I was averaging about 4.3 redeemed credits per download and was on pace to reach the next level.  Now that each indie file only costs 1 credit does that mean that I would need to quadruple my sales just to continue at the same pace as before?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: First Week of New iStock - How are you doing?
« on: September 21, 2014, 09:18 »
I was having a pretty good month before the changes.

The week following the changes was really slow and was lowlighted by an XXXLarge for a 30 cent commission.

I guess it isn't a big deal for me though, "good" on iStock doesn't really mean much since the vast majority of my earnings there come from PP anyways.

But DPC is not part of the question here so why would that be relevant? Question to all... .

I'm guessing you haven't read any threads concerning Fotolia for the past several weeks.

You might want to check out these two:

I had some, though not many compared to the overall amount of sub sales, the highest were some for 1,25 Euro instead of 0,35 Euro.

just a question to all - why does answering a poster's question in a normal informative way lead to negative votes? I see nothing wrong with Rob's post.

I didn't give a down vote myself, but the down votes are probably because he is opted in to DPC.

Those categories are for video.

I don't think they have categories for photos.

Is this comparison chart, starting before 2005, likely to be accurate?
http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=shutterstock.com%2C%20istockphoto&cmpt=q

If you do shutterstock instead of shutterstock.com then it is much higher.  And if you use .com for both them then shutterstock is still higher but both are trending down.

DepositPhotos / Re: WARNING: DP IMAGES BACK UP ON SHOTSHOP
« on: April 16, 2014, 16:08 »
Here is an answer, you might see the thumbnails, but the images cant be bought. Shocking answer from DP as this means Shotshop takes your money but you wont get the image.

Quote
Shotshop can accept your payment, but you will not receive the image.
Your images were removed from all our API websites and I sent you a confirmation by email. You could only see the previews since we were working on our search filters. However, it was not possible to purchase your files there since your files uploaded directly to our website are available for sale only on our website.

Do you still see your images in their search?

The part that I highlighted is in the past tense, which implies that they were visible but are no longer visible.

I got the exact same response but all of my images continue to be visible on Shotshop.

Same issue here.

I have a batch from March 22 still pending.

I have sent other batches since then, most recently on April 12, and they have all been reviewed.

Not sure what the issue with this one particular batch is.

Isn't that Beavers, which would be Oregon?  ::)

I thought Badgers was a reference to the thread on SS about chaps with beards - who generally as if  they are eating one.

So far I have 0 sales for $0.00 with them this year.

I also don't see how Stockfresh and Graphic Leftovers are in the middle tier.  Someone is definitely messing with the poll.

Oops, I noticed just in time that "sell the rights" is now default ON !  And if I switch it off, the next image is ON again  >:(

Me too.  I uploaded a batch 2 days ago and it was off.  I did another batch today and it was defaulted to on for each pic.

To me it seems to be exactly the same as the old system but in a different layout.

If they are going to redesign it they should add a batch editing feature.

Could someone tell me how to deactivate files from Veer? Thanks.

I deleted some last year and I had to email them the id number of each file I wanted to delete.

Photography Equipment / Re: SLR for HD Video

Im happy with what I have, namely the nikon d 600, with spots and all.
And I had 2 d 200s before that.
If your kitlens ( which one?) says DX on it, you cannot use it without loosing pixels. It will work, but it will crop the image.

I have the D610 myself and love it.

Losing pixels with a DX lens isn't entirely true.  If you zoom in a little there is no need to crop.  I used the Tokina 11-16 DX lens on my D7000 and D90 before that.  I love shooting really wide angle shots but I didn't have the money to get a FX wide angle lens when I got the D610.  For now I am still using the 11-16 and as long as I shoot at 16mm there is no need to crop.  The corners can be pretty soft, but it still works for stock and I'm getting some pretty good sellers with it for now while I save up for something else.

I uploaded a batch last night to Deposit with no problem.

I tried to do another batch today and when a file gets to 100% nothing happens.  It just sits at 100% until I cancel it and nothing ever shows up on the website.
