I don't know about iStock. But I recommend you try Shutterstock. Go to their forum, post 10 photos and ask for their feedbacks. You will learn tremendously by trying to get into Shutterstock even if you have no intention to contribute there. Once you are accepted by Shutterstock, you are ready for most microstock sites out there include iStock.

I'm not defending DPC, but just as a doubt:
I see all folks complaining about it, on the other hand, I see a bunch of these contributors also sells their image at Shutterstock which also has a subscription plans that you make from $0.25 to $0.38 per image. I would say it is the same as a Dollar Photo Club income with other name: 25-A-Day subscription plan and DPC pays you $0.25 to $0.40.
So, in sum, isn't it the same? I am wrong?
I'm sorry but I feel like you are asking the same question over and over again. I read most of the comments in this thread and other threads related to DPC, I thought this has been answered many times.

I made $250 a few months ago, just a simple shot of my feet.

They can't be taking on Getty, they are partnering with Getty. In Getty's forum, 30 days ago there was an announcement Flickr will renew the relationship with Getty. Flickr will now be referred as Getty's Image Partner just like Blend Images or Nat Geo.
But I'm surprised Flickr didn't mention Getty in their announcement.
Update! Opps they did mention here https://www.flickr.com/marketplace/ "Get connected to opportunities to license your work to photo editors, designers, and agencies including Getty Images"
so what is it? are they taking on Getty or are they still part of Getty? as Paulie says, "interesting times". as with Zeus "an incestuous pack". this is as interesting as an enema
Previouly Flickr Getty collection is considered as "in-house" collection. Those Flickr folks who got through previous program is now under in-house Moment collection. They are getting 20% (for RF). For this new partnership, Flickr collection will be considered as partner, not in-house. So they will be sharing the pie with Flickr. I'm not sure how much Getty pays their partners. Contributors will share their Getty income with Flickr.

Since last week, I was looking for some interior shots with photo frames on the wall. Since I want it to look not too generic, not the same popular images that are spread across all all microstock site, I check out Stocksy as I know their images are exclusive, but nada, I can't find a thing. Getty has something, but no way I will support them.

I have one image that made me $7K in 3 years. Then I go on created a few hundreds more, many dont even sell at all. Seriously, if it's only that simple to give you the answer, I would have quitted my full time job now.

If I want to buy image, I won't go to uncurated site. It's a waste of time to comb through all mediocre photos or snapshots. The experience is similar to looking for photos in Flickr or Google images, at least Flickr does offer most interesting, which somehow filter the craps out a little.

I thought my grudge towards Getty is bad, yours towards SS seems to run much deeper.

Congrats Jo Ann.
This is great news. Several people I know have made sales on Crated.

Go to Dashboard then pricing. You have to mark up rather high to match your price on other POD sites. To me that's good because that meant my cut will be much higher if my work sold via crated.

It was the same with me! I opened Supply Agreement and the first sentence is: "We love your photos and we want to license them for you." My first thought was "They accepted me!!!" But then I came to realize that I just sent my application so it isn't possible. Now I'm waiting for their response. Kathi, did you experienced something similar? :-)
Yup, I was happy a split second too then I got back to reality pretty fast. I feel terrible for the misunderstanding but seriously by looking at the link below I don't think Stocksy is at fault. https://www.stocksy.com/legal?id=12

Congrats! I sent it my application and I can login to my Stocksy account almost on the very first day itself. I did update my paypal and other information. I'm sorry, I'm don't think the ability to update our profile considered as our application has been accepted?

I don't put my stock photos in there, only those artsy experimental pieces that have been sitting on my hard drive anyway. I have known a few people made sales there already. So, I will still be sticking around.

Unless you have different work office, VPN, tablet, smartphone, as long as you access from different IP addresses, you can contribute to their advertisement fund multiple times.

For creative, it seems the only way now is through the contest. http://competitions.gettyimages.com/en/competitions/call-for-entries-3/the-brief#.U55ODfmSzxQ. What I read from Getty forum, people are offered to contribute to either iStock or Moment collection upon winning the contest there. Not sure about other collections.
Goodness I hope this is not the only way in now. This is just plain creepy (it rings too close to playing hard to get and we might want you like stocksy does - really bad move in my opinion.). Here is another link that up until this point in time is what I thought were the procedures to apply to contribute images to GI. Perhaps this is for being a house photographer? As recently as a few weeks ago I recommended this route to someone. http://contributors.gettyimages.com/workwithus/Default.aspx
That will lead to the same place. Try clicking at Photography - Creative/Advertising then 4.Submit your work now and it will take you to the contest. This is much more creepy than Stocksy. Almost like popularity contest. However, there is a shortcut to get into Moment collection. You just need to contact one of the curators with 3 best images, then you are in. I don't know any current curators, but there is self-professed Getty fan-girl aka curator in the forum who seems too eager to get anyone in.
