Selling Stock Direct / Re: KTools and CMS Stand-alone script
« on: February 14, 2018, 05:57 »
I purchased CMSAccount's standalone script, the Lite version. So far, I really like it. The reason I choose is because of the design and the Exclusive feature. CMS replies to emails in within 24 hours.

I didn't receive any replies from Ktools. Even the guy KTool_Jeff here in MSG, didn't respond to my PM either.

Where they 'explain' the different levels, there is a cross next to Photographers (and also Affiliates). So what doe this mean? YOu can't sell photos? Confused.....

Red X means you cannott have photographers/contributor and affiliates, because that is the Lite version. In the full version, you can have contributors and affiliates.

I signed up at their forum, and still not approved. It requires approval because of spam registrations.

Overall, I like CMS. Still too early to make a full review as I don't have buyers yet. But I did some buy test. Yes, it gives notification and emails after purchasing an image, unlike in current version of Symbiostock.

Downside with vector uploads. It does not process photo versions of vectors and illustrations. Vectors are just vectors.

I'm okay at iStock, Shutter, and Fotolia.

Sold one item. I never really don't have too many artworks there though, to be fair, probably less than 30.

CMS is able to sell an exclusive image, meaning - it can sell an image one time, then it is removed after a buyer purchased it. I also like the design better than Ktools'.

In Ktools demo, I could not find it, I sent a message asking them for confirmation.

Good point. I don't sell anything exclusive, but on my own, you mean someone could set a much higher price and have exclusive use? Does it have a time limit, or do you mean lifetime exclusive. That's pretty long. Even my RM sales have a date range. It's not like someone can buy an image and be the only ones with the right to use it, forever?

There is another, I'm not using it but I did for tool sales, the free demo worked very well, notifications, inventory and flexibility. I still don't understand if it can handle digital downloads, like photos?  https://www.webasyst.com/store/app/shop/ Too expensive unless it's a fantastic interface and works better than anything else in the world.

And while searching I found this, Open eShop that takes cards, paypal or bitcoin.  https://open-eshop.com/

Just adding some other ideas to the mix.

Yes, I've thinking of that, like selling logos exclusive.

There is time limit found in the Coupons page.

The shop scripts in the links you gave I dont think they can provide much detailed capabilities such as KTools or CMS.

Have you seen https://www.symbiostock.org ?

Yes, I'm using it on my site acrylik.com, but when I buy tested, I did not receive any email containing the download link and not in the customer dashboard. I already asked the guys why, but it takes forever for them to reply.

I'd say pick the one with the best support or that is upgradeable. My old K-Tools store died because they stopped supporting their old version and there was no way to upgrade to the new version. Most of these solutions seem to have a half life before their creators abandon them for a new version or project and you're stuck trying to plug the leaks.

Woah, thank you for this. This got me thinking.

I'm undecided which one is the better script: KTools and CMS Stand-alone script

Anyone here who has experienced both?

Did you look at these? https://www.cmsaccount.com/photostore/live_sites/ I worry more about security 1st then the rest. Maybe somebody here is using one of these. I don't like wordpress plugins sites. ktools has been around a long time, stand alone. http://www.ktools.net/photostore/clients/

I'd want to hear from somebody who runs these.

I decided not to use Wordpress, even though many of my sites are in Wordpress. It's just a hassle come update time. Some plugins and themes becomes buggy.

To be fair, CMS design is good to look at.

I guess I would choose Ktools because they only focus on one software.

Wasn't Photostore about $299 a few years ago?  And now it's $49/$79?  Or am I thinking of another one?

The drop of price is that's why I thought of buying at least one of them, both of their full license are now 79$

If developers are interested, much of the work has already be done, in the open-source OpenBazaar project.

Maybe some tweaks are needed for stock photography and a search engine.
Payment is always in cryptocurrencies.

I assume eventually someone will do it. Then, in a few years, when clients learn about the search engine and get more accustomed with cryptocurrencies, it will never be the same.

Internet has removed the first generation of intermediaries, peer-to-peer blockchain technology will remove the second generation.

It's not even a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

I'm reading the features in their site, looks like they only accept crypto money and no Paypal?

Symbiostock - Technical Support / No download email received
« on: January 16, 2018, 00:26 »

Hi,

I tested to purchase both free and with a price images. I still could not receive the download email.

I even installed the older version of Woocommerce, version 2.7.0.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Is $1000/months a big amount?
« on: July 07, 2017, 00:43 »
My target was to earn more than x,xxx$ a month when I went full time in 2010. But I just could not hit even $500 a month. This was after iStock made changes in their royalty, everything in the microstock industry was also affected. I have currently over 1,400 images - photos and vectors spread across 4 agencies.

I had to make other streams of revenue online.

Qatar is known for not paying employees / slaves. Slavery is in the Quran by the way.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: no salses at canstockphoto
« on: March 24, 2016, 21:34 »
When I used to have less than 50% images at CS, I already had sales. But the downloads are concentrated on particular category, the photos were about floods.

Probably, depends on the category. So I'm good sales at CS than 123RF.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Rejecting everything
« on: March 24, 2016, 21:30 »
I have uploaded over 100 illustrations so far, and no rejections yet. Although my photos almost get rejected all the time probably 95% rejection, they're very strict more than other bigger agencies.

123RF / Re: Do you make $100/month at 123RF?
« on: March 24, 2016, 20:52 »
I have 90% illustrations and about 10% or maybe less photos at 123RF, with over 200 uploads and keeps uploading, but I only make 9$ in over 2 years. I only get 1 or 2 sales a month.

But in CanStockPhoto, I make money faster than 123RF and I have about half of total uploads I have at 123RF.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: What is happening to iStock?
« on: August 07, 2015, 01:33 »
I was too a former Exclusive. I left because of the RC credit system. I wont go back to Exclusive even if they remove the credit system.

49
Maybe the guy joined without reading rules and instructions.

50
I have about 104 images in DepositP with about 11$ earning, but uploading more is quiet a risky since I read a lot of negative reviews from Contributors and Clients.

I have over 1000 images in IS and Shutter, over 500 in FT.
