^^ Not for me. I am living in the boondocks of the Yukon Territory just east of Alaska. I pay close to $100 per month for my internet connection and still get just 0.5 Mbs of upload speed. On top of that my monthly bandwidth is capped as well (at a more generous 60GB, thought). If I upload via ftp to all micro site from my computer uploading takes forever (and blocks my computer virtually for other internet uses as it slows everthing else down to snail speed).
Does anyone know if (and how) it is possible to set up ftp from a hosting service such as blue host? It would be an elegant solution if could just upload my images to my Symbiostock site once and distribute to the micro sites from there...
there is a solution but its not the cheapest one.. you could get a dedicated server (the cheapest you find.. usually they come around 200$/year if they are really cheap) then you upload via ftp your images to that server... then via remote desktop you use a ftp program like stockuploader or go-stock to upload to all the agencies. a dedicated server has an incredible speed. so you could upload all images only once and then it would work on its own and upload all the images to all the sites in a matter of seconds.. but you'd have to pay for a yearly dedicated server.. i think it depends a lot on how many pictures you upload. if its 20 every day then it might be worth.. if it is 1 a day then probably not..

Hello everybody! i've been reading trough this discussion and saw that my program (stockuploader) hasbeen mentioned. just to answer a few questions: stockuploader is not a bandwith saver.. its just a plain normal ftp uploading program that automates the part about chosing files and agencies. it would not be too difficult to change it to a bandwith saving program but there are a few problems with it: 1) there would be almost nobody willing to share theyr account information with a freeware program. 2) password encryption is a joke. every programmer can read the password encrypted by himself **IF** the password must be converted back somewhen. (basically any login information) 3) i wouldnt feel confortable by having all the passwords stored on my server. (this can be changed anyway by sending the upload data only when its time to submit so if the server gets hacked no passwords are there) but anyway, if somebody gets its account hacked in some other way i would be the first having the finger pointed at me so i'd rather avoid this... 4) this is only possible (in a reliable way) with a dedicated server. a dedicated server costs a lot and given that despite the over 16000 uploads the only donations i had came from my family i highly doubt that i could even remotely think of offering as a free service. who knows.. maybe in the future it will be done.. but for the time beeing its not in my plans for the above mentioned points. anyway thanks for mentioning stockuploader, and thanks to whoever wants to try it!  if you have questions feel free to ask! WOW! hey people thanks! got over 130 visitors the last four days and over 1300 files uploaded! this makes me happy! would also love to have a feedback from who tested it, even if negative. negative helps me make it better, positive is even better!

i am not aware of something like that.. only thing i know is the smartphone app "microstockr" that can track your sales on all major agencies.. but many agencies dont even give the informations you like out on theyr own site, so the answer to your question most likely is no..

Hello!
the last release of stockuploader has a banner in it (see picture below).
the purpose of this banner is to bring new users to the program and/or cover the costs that the program has for me.
anything that could bring some benefit to the program basically. i am open to new banners as long as they are related in any way to photography. what do i want in exchange? well anything that can bring benefit to the program. a few examples are:
donations
a UNBIASED review of stockuploader on a well known site
a blogpost about stockuploader
basically anything that helps it spread.
IN NO CASE YOU SHOULD SPAM ABOUT STOCKUPLOADER!!!
what banner you could put in there? that is up to you! any banner you want as long as it is related to photography. could be a referral link, a banner for your site, a banner for your preferred forum, a banner for your blog, whatever you want.
i dont want to gain personally from this, i only want stockuploader to grow. if youre interested in having your banner there just post here or get in touch!

there was a minor bug on the webpage that prevented it to work on safari and google chrome. its fixed!

Hi everybody! Thanks to SLP_London i was able to find the cause of the bug that made files disappear on most agencies. This version has been tested for a week with a few hundred files and not a single file got lost. At the time Stockuploader has uploaded over 13.000 files all over the world. This makes me happy because i know that all the time i invested is appreciated by quite a few uploaders... Enjoy and remember that feedbacks are always welcome and help making the program get better on each release. Again a big THANKS goes to SLP_London and Rixie for theyr tremendous pacience and help! there is a light at the end of the tunnel..
a working version is on my desktop.. i had to take away the file and agency priority tough..
it will be anounced anytime soon.
donations are at 32$. mainly from family. the Chillkat library would still be good as it supports FTPs, resume of uploads, and file/agency priority.

Edit: Stockuploader will be back on monday 13th! ----------------- Hi guys! unfortunately i had to take down Stockuploader 4 Mac. The way stockuploader is designed doesnt allow it to work in a reliable way on MACs. ( PC version is not affected by this problem and is totally safe to use) Thanks Igor

hi gillian! just wanted to let you know that all the upgrades and bugfixes are done except the compatibility of 10.6.8. if its not giving me too much of a trouble then i'll fix it and release the new version this weekend. but if it is giving me too much problems then i'll have to release version 1.2 without that fix anyway and release then v1.3 (or v1.2.1) a few days later.. just to let oyu know..

10.6.8 is not compatible with the app at the time. i am working hard these days to fix the problem! in fact yesterday i have been able to find the source of the bug and will fix it in the next days!

Getting "damaged file-please resubmit" (GL), some never make it to the site even though the app appears to be uploading properly. Uploads to 123rf but unable to process it, they just disappear. I've had to use my regular FTP app and they upload fine. I'm using Mountain Lion latest ver. Thanks. BTW, great app, thanks again.
thanks for letting me know. i have gotten another report abotu this problem and i think the connection is closed a bit to early. i am working to fix this problem and hope to be able to put a new version online within a few days! but thank you anyway for letting me know! new version will have this fixed, will have the context menu on the main table, and will also work on OSX 10.6.8 ---edit--- BTW, nice to see people that are actively trying to help and give a feedback even if the program didnt work proeprly.. usually the messages i get in these situations is "hey its crap", "doesnt work." , "must be a virus", and crap like that and i ask myself why am i even investing time in this?!?! but messages like yours keep me on track and working to fix it..

great! let me know! working on vresion 1.2 and hope to release it within 2 weeks! if you find bugs please let me know so i can adress and fix them before v1.2!
