rpd 0,30 cent..ridicolous...best month of download...a lot of 0,08 from canvas portal...istock is killing this business but people don't want undersea...better earn penny now...at least don't complain in future if ss or adobe don'tsell.

« on: January 16, 2020, 09:07 »
ss good, already near last year january
adobe : super...still a bit far from ss in terms of number of download but rpd is 2 dollar with lot of sales bigger than 7 dollar.
stock: went from 40 download the 14 to near 120 in two days...don't know if it's a correction but seems very good considering i not have great success in stock, but if rpd is the last of 2 months still far from the big 2...

the rest completely dead...probably 20 30 dollar in 7 agency left...in my opinion this year most will close the door starting from can stock and 123rf. i hope alamy pick up but seems ti me they sell mostly editorial who cannot be find in other micro agency.
all in all i expect hjanuary to beat the expectations.

Hi why the 1 day of this month the sell is now $0.27 and 0.69$ before it was 38 cent and 99 cent ...

for me it's normal royalty. maybe was some discount offer? don't know.

I cannot see anynore it under account management... a way to make things mushier than are now?

the problem is stock is impacting a lot ss and adobe giving practically free image to customer and penny tour....so maybe is 100 dollar month but maybe you not earn three hundred more in adobe and ss cause customer pay much less to getty who actually play much much less to us....that-s wy the industry is finished. because people only see a little upgrade of gear and a weekend as a great performance.

unfortunately my prediction is coming true .sooner than what i thought...the cause? i already explained it's getty...they are killing this business with premium access connect...practicaly giving free image for a feed amount and passing penny to contributor.....ss and above are being forced to pull down prices t...next year will see more, probably we end up like getty with  lower royalty and lower commission...same for video, 1,5 now is the exception soon will be the rule....this business is finished in 2016. the problem is that most of contributor who upload right now are form russia and country where even 700 dollar make a good living....that's wy they d0nt care of lowering commission..they will always find somebody who upload files, even if they cut royalty to 10 cent. likely seems cavanimags and offset for me are picking up good royalty this month. if only stocksy accepted me next time, i will not produce anymore content for micro stock.

getty is killing micro stock...that s why in ss enhanced and big single are disappeared like in adobe...they are giving away for penny to big corporations photos thanks to that f..ing premium access.

people don't understand because in micro stock every body is so desperate to earn that 100 dollar from getty to survive....but if we don't stop uploading and remove all our portfolio there is simply no hope...i have record of images sold and an rpd of 0,35 cent....at the beginning of year rpd was 1 dollar...same for exclusive contributor if you read esp forum it's clear even their rpd is falling down....getty is giving away images with all right for penny, same for video...if we don't stop now soon ss and adobe should fight back with less expensive sale and most of all less royalty for us..it's only a mater of time. personally i have open a ticket to cancel my account...i lost some thousand dollar per year but i feel better. hundred if sale to partner portal ,aka canvas , fior 8 cent while in canva i sell for 5 times more...getty is the evil of micro stock together with unsplahs...if we don't understand please stop complaining. it0s only our fault.

Best month in terms of download but rpd falli g down to a whopping 0,35 cent. this business is ending ita sad to say after 13 years but this is the truth. Its a rub to lower our rpd in evey agency. I will focus obly on video and clean my drive of the thousand of files. But i doy t it will change a lot.

85
at this point going non exclusive is totally useless if you don't have a big portfolio, with model released images and strong concept...if you have a thousand of wildlife images, as soon as they are uploaded in sss, if they not sell soon they won't sell ever....in istok probably some of your file have still visibility and so sell sometime i think, in ss you risk to sell nothing.

86
soon there will be zero professional micro stock contributor in any agency, so they will rely with amateur snapshot who could not compete with any free photos website...they are simply milking cow till it's the end of this market..it's pretty evident....i expect next year ss and as will even cut our royalty to make their manager receive their bonus....it's the same in any industry....but maybe people forgot the russian revolution own 1919? when the people are hungry we know how everything ends up.

rejections are not a problems..the problems is the collapsing of sale over 38 cent...rpd is collapsing...i don't care if they reject something....all in all most new content don'tsell at all because nobody is so idiot to search for new files...make any search first with new then with relevant...who in the world would mess looking for a usable file using the new tabs?...the problem is 99 % of sale are sub. and not only here in general...i'm up 35 % sale in all agency down 200 % in terms of dollar so far...i need 10 times more images sold than last year to match the dollar. time to ficus n rm for agency like westend and offset...microstock is collapsing.

you not even earned one tenth of what i earned...so why talking? i complain not cause i not earn 300 dollar months like you ,you understand? i'm taking of earning 50 60K, not 3 4....you understand?
Perhaps you could invest some of your earnings in an anger management course.

maybe or maybe people wit h minimal knowledge of stuff and minimal earning should begin stopping doing the expert...not your case...wee maybe your case too.

Telling us this news should've come along with an announcement that Shutterstock was going to increase the contributors' take. Otherwise, it's just them gloating about making 4x as much as us off of our hard work with nothing in return. They're pretty much shouting at us on the floor from atop their huge pile of gold. Thanks, Smaug.

for me is the contrary. soon they should simply cut our take to sustain an economic growth in front of stock holders...it-s clear that if thing keep like this , next two quarter they won-t any way keep the expectations of growth the market has...so thy simply will tell us another great news for us to cut our share to 0,25 cent per image for any contributors ....they won-t give a s..t to differentiate contributor at that point...they will screw every drop of milk till they can and then sell the business to some private funds or fire most of workers and cut again our take. it-s pretty simple. my only hope is adobe at this point. it seems grow double digit in the last 6 months... ss is completely screwed up.

90
considering that from 2016 to 2019 the growth is minimal, and last year practically zero, and considering that they added 10 million images a week it's clear this business is finished from a contributor perspective. it's not  case that last year of going earning is 2016, last year new images sell and still sell very good is 2016., that from 2016 my earning are exactly the same plus minus 2 3 per cent, it's not a surprise....they simply throw away money accepting every crap in the last two year without any sense. they are not growing at all. next year will see this chart will begin downward in the typical bell shape.

You just figured that out?

it's a fact...just watch the graph..the tendency iOS pretty evident...next year probably they will have zero growth and from then they will go downward.

I see bulk submissions of video factories passing right through, could be just my impression but my guess is they don't want to anger their big money makers. It may also be some kind of AI doing it and randomly shooting down submissions. Lets see if this corrects on it's own.

All rejected footage accepted elsewhere with no issues, hmmm!
For what its worth I think some of the factories get a free pass or maybe only a sample inspected. I find it hard to believe SS inspect every single image at current submission levels. If a factory is making big money it does make business sense to do this whether its "fair" or not. Fairness is not part of this business now if it ever was.

agree,. they need this factory, especially  the in easter europe, to offer important lifestyle and model released images who are the bulk of sale. without them who in the earth rightt now would produce complex lifestyle shooting spending thousand dollar? nobody.

So submitted two photos of Lake Louise, same shutter speed, aperture, iso, focal length. Taken a few seconds apart and from slightly different angles. One photo gets approved and one gets rejected because of noise. Uh. I get it if both photos are rejected, prefer both are approved. But what gives with the review process?

Sorry rant over.

lucky they begin rejecting....2 similar images of the same place from slightly little angel? in practice the same image...what's the point?

95
yes is growing very fast, this month ahead ss once ss was like 6 times fotolia....sunday had a consecutive 83 download of my food photos in less than a 30 minutes, all 0,36....or some relatives bought them as christmas gift:9, or somebody bought them...maybe some thief who will resell them? anyway. this month the growth is strong...still not selling lot of christmas images , i expected more christmas images selling this winter.

Also next up great news "Unlimited video subscription".

It's only a matter of time before all of it heads this way. They need to keep sales and profits up to keep the stock price up. Removing restrictions and "making it easier and less confusing for buyers" is a competitive incentive. At some point there likely will no longer be any confusing EL licenses, unattractive download restrictions, or other pesky buyer disincentives.

How else would they continue to afford the swanky New York office and CEO status as a billionaire?

that0s it....soon view will sell for 2,99 dollar....it's only a matter of time...cash till you can....then find another job. it's pretty simple to understand. next quarter probably they will not expect esp expectations, considering they barely matched in the last quarter...still they didn't understand the lesson that customer are going adobe and getty for premium licenses, considering the mess of ss collection how you blame them?

97
kind of unacceptable? do you think in one year you will sell video for 20 dollar=? you will be luck if video still sell for  5 dollar.

The speed with which I just had 5 pics reviewed tells me that mammalian reviewers do not enter into it. I sent the files off from one laptop and when I went to look at my contributor page (within 2 minutes), I had nothing pending and all 5 had already been reviewed reviewed with one rejection for over/underlit. I never resubmit rejections to SS so I'll see what Adobe does with the same 5.

Anyone who has ever gone to the buyer page of SS, entered something into search, chosen an image and then scrolled down to see what SS AI suggests as 'similars' will know that AI at SS only goes on visual patterns and does not take any keywords into account because often the 'similars' are nonsense and bear absolutely no relation to the keyword used to search.

it's impossible to earn like this...buyer will never look at new images...they go to relevant and buy always the same stuff..that's why those ho sold in the past are still selling a lot even uploading few images per year...that's a shame. compared to other agency...even getty with their 15& royalty lok a paradise in the last months for selling new images.i repeat we must cross fingers that they began heavily losing customer and money, contributors are not considered but this who own stocks yes, and if stocks being plummeting they should realize the mess they are doing to this company.

i9nstant review means in practice , upload what you want we accept it and after 20 condo the image is going to be thrown in the garbage.....thst' a statement of what i always say...in ss everything is already decided,,,you have lot of popular images thanks for them to being approved 3 4 5 years ago, you can earn, if not your earning will be the same, new content cannot impact at all.

is not a case that in adobe and getty i sold practically 75% of image uploaded in the last year, while in ss is ik 5% new images every month and 9%% old images, older than 2018, mostly from 2016 the last year they checked files, then opened the gates....the only thing that can change this for me is a big huge lost in the next financial quarter, maybe this bell will make them understand that customer don't want browse through millions of garbage images. look the doom and gloom thread in ss...browse some portfolio of those who on't sell anything....how in the earth ss accepted those files? i'm really ashamed to upload to ss.

... and leave your gear at home, if possible... you will buy all you need at much lower prices...  ;)

actually gear in that places cost a lot that's why most buy abroad. so i should stop shooting lifestyle cause thousand of mediocre photographer from easter europe are overflowing the agency with the same files with same models because they can live with 10000 dollar and model cost nothing? ahaha no way. next year i will even pay somebody for shooting for me..clearly penny,.. war is war. commercial war is commercial war.
